The post-vacation-blues are the WORST! I have found myself not wanting a trip to get here just because I know it will go by SO fast, and then I'll be bummed, having nothing left to look forward to.
Sorry you are having to deal with a sick cat, it's so hard. We had a dog for many years, and it sure does get expensive when they are sick! We were hoping to go to Costa Rica (w/ABD) in 2009, but had to drop a couple thousand on vet bills, so we pushed the trip back to 2010, and by then I was pregnant. And kids can't go until they are 6, so I still haven't been to Costa Rica, lol! I don't think DH will ever let us have another furbaby
I had to laugh about your excitement over NOT changing anything! I haven't been too bad about it the last few months, but our Disney trip a few years ago... well I could have considered it a full time job for about 3 months, lol! Every day was a new chance to burn hours at the computer rearranging everything. It becomes an obsession.
Yes those blues are not fun at all. Only saving grace is that when I get back I can continue some kind of crazy planning mode since we are heading to Walt Disney World in November. I can always change more ADRs there, plan rides, etc. and I'll get to book rides in September.
We have 4 cats and 1 dog and so far have been lucky. We've always had more than one cat and at least one dog, though we just recently upped our previous 'cat' record going from 3 to 4 cats. It has not been smooth sailing and thankfully my husband is mostly patient and understanding of our cat issues....he's a dog person.
There hasn't been too much planning involved with this Universal/SW/BG trip so far, but I have made no fewer than a dozen (probably more) hotel reservations since we decided on the trip. I just hope at this point I have cancelled all of the others I don't need. I just told my DH last night about our 2nd hotel being a SeaWorld partner hotel that should give us front of the line access at SeaWorld and he was psyched since he and the kids just want to do the "BIG" rides there.
We also spent time comparing SW and Universal from Orlando and San Diego. My SIL just got back from San Diego with her son visiting her somewhat "new" boyfriend who lives there. Her son (our nephew) is notorious for NOT wanting to ride anything, and it's frustrating when they go to parks with us since my kids do everything and having 3 kids it sure would be nice if the 4th kid of the family would ride stuff. She was bragging to my husband (her brother) last night via text how she got her son on Manta out in SW San Diego which seemed impressive to us...until she shared the ride photo and my DH looked at it and said...wait why are they sitting upright? Yeah the Manta ride in SanDiego is WAY different than Manta at Orlando. San Diego is more like a big kid coaster, no loops, sitting up, mostly flat and no big hills...and suddenly we were no longer impressed and there goes our plan of having them do more amusement parks with us. My kids cannot WAIT to ride Manta at SW even though they don't even realize they will get to do so this upcoming trip.
Anyway right now the only decisions I have for this upcoming trip are when I'm going to purchase my Universal tickets here at work and when I'll book our Discovery Cove trip. Probably by next week for sure. Still waiting to see if the kids will have to attend school on the day we hope to leave and at this point it looks like they will do so. Guess it will be a long drive into evening hours for us but worth it!
