Hello

As a newbie - how nice to be new at something at my age ;) - and a first post (someone please LMK or move it if this is in the wrong place) and for fear of informing all you very experienced people of the obvious (finally she gets to the point...:))

I just ordered our copy of The Entertainment Book Orlando 2003 - as recommended in SteveV's excellent guide - online for $25 ($10 off the cover price) with FREE shipping to the UK. This also allows you to register your book online immediately thus benefitting from some of the online deals - including accommodation - (the latter may be more useful to US residents). Don't know yet, I think I may go blind before we get to WDW for all the time I've spent online reading sites like this one and so forth this past week LOL

Anyway, I like the idea of having something else to pore over in the coming weeks.

We've booked a villa at what I think is one of the best sites I've come across (as a travel journalist and major planner of our various travels I know a good thing when I see one, like SteveV's book!) which I'm happy to recommend if someone can tell me the best place to put this and if it's appropriate. We have no personal links with the site, it would just be a recommendation for anyone considering staying off-site. See, I'm getting the lingo :smooth:

You mean Simon's book, right?

Purchasing the Entertainment Book is an excellent suggestion. Most major US cities have them and you can save a lot of money when using those coupons.

Oops, is there an emoticon for blushing around here?

Yes, indeed I do mean Simon Veness's book A Brit's Guide to Orlando. Grovelling apologies Simon - please don't give me lines

Publishing dates being what they are, the online offer for The Entertainment Book may not have been in effect at Simon's (note correct name!) time of writing - as mentioned on P.93 of the current guide.

Hi

Could you give me the link to book the Entertainment Book online. I'll be going the beginning of April. Will I get this posted out to me in time?

Thanks. :)

Hello Sue

I don't think I'd like to presume about the delivery times - we're going in mid-May - but I'd hazard a guess that April would be OK. Maybe you should check what it says under shipping info? At worst surface is about 6 to 8 weeks - I'm 99% certain they would/should be using Printed Papers airmail.

The site is at www.entertainment.com and then you need to follow the links to get to the Orlando book.

One tip: if you then go on to register online it asks you to put in your address again, under State just put in UK. I left this blank at first (as all my other address info was under United Kingdom) and it kept bouncing me back asking for a State. My method seemed to work to confuse it!

Thank you Kaylee :) I believe I was reading some of your Broadwalk trip report earlier today...

Sue
I ordered an Entertainment book last summer and was really impressed by how quickly I received it. As I remember it was received within the week. I made good use of it and saved plenty of money.

An update for you should you check back. I ordered my book online Sunday(9th May), received an email Monday (10th) to say it was shipped and it arrived this morning 14th Feb.

Seems fast and efficient if you were still wondering about ordering. From a quick skim through the book I think you should easily make back your $25 outlay and more - especially if travelling with a family.

Regards
NWR
