I've heard of this and realized that now I'm experiencing it..which is a good thing!
We generally 'do' Disney about once a year, although last May we took kids and grandkids to DLR for a reunion, then DH and I and some friends did our ABD, but now we are getting into DVC mode. We have a WDW trip booked next January, then got DP for our VGC add on, so off we go to DLR in Sept and since it doesn't cost much to upgrade to APs we may as well do that, so then we'll have to use the APs and stay in the new VGC, so a trip next May to the DLR Food & Wine looks fun..and so on... :lovestruc (kinda like "If You Give A Mouse a Cookie")
BTW..can DLR APs get you any kind of discount at WDW? I doubt it but you never know...

Unfortunately, no. All discounts associated with DLR APs are for locations at DLR. I wish that Disney would come out with (1) AP that would be good at both WDW and DLR.

:thumbsup2 YEP WE GOT IT TOO....... that DVC AFFECT has a way of sneaking up on your. We became DVC members the end of Jan. 07 on the day we flew back home from a stay at Shades of Green. Well we got DP and our UY is Oct. and we had LOADS OF POINTS to start with. We had the current UY, the DP and then got a fresh supply in Oct. So we booked a trip for Aug. 07 and then in Nov. 07 again. Of course we bought our first AP's in Aug. and so we decided since we had those AP's we my as well go in Jan. 08 as we had in previous years.......even if we didn't want to use points..so we stayed at SOG. THEN...we went in July 08 for 2 weeks. SO we got 4 trips out of those AP's.
THEN..............we added on points Aug. 08 and got more DP so we booked another trip for Nov. 08. We had MYW passes left with 7 days so that worked out perfectly. THEN..............THEN.............Then we went back in Jan. of this year and used points for that trip. We are going back in July but WE HAVE NO TRIPS PLANNED, IN THE MAKING, OR EVEN ON THE WISH LIST beyond July.

Having a dd starting college the end of Aug. has A LOT TO DO WITH THAT. :scared1: So we are going to scale back....but at least we know we have enough points to have a great vacation each year. :thumbsup2

I so wish they would do this, especially now that we have them at both places! :lmao: I've had my DL AP for 18+ years and just got our first WDW one last month... it sure would be nice now that DVC will be on both coasts to have one good for both resorts. I'm not holding my breath, but I can dream.

Maybe DVC can negotiate a special pass for DVC members that has access to both. That would be a great perk and encourage ownership on both coasts

Like a DVC "All Access" pass

I'd be all over that perk! It would encourage us West Coaster out to WDW more often.

DVC syndrome and its sister disease, add-onitis are both highly contagious and progressive - the more you give into them, the worse they get... We originally bought DVC thinking of 1 trip a year, then it made sense to go twice in a year and get annual passes, then a week was too short so twice for 10 days ...
My husband resisted adding-on for the longest time, but I eventually talked (nagged) him into it. We just sent our paperwork back today for small add on at VWL:banana:. Now plotting my next add-on...:rolleyes1

You guys are too funny. You're sounding exactly like drug addicts. You bought it, tried it LIKED it, keep going back for more, share it around for all to enjoy and now are claiming it to be a disease instead of what it really is: an addiction. :rotfl2:

Please repeat after me:
My name is _________. I am a DVC addict.

PS - There is definitely something in the Kool-Aid at the DVC center.

:worship:Add-on-itis is the itch I have not been able to scratch since my original purchase. But now my last kid just graduated high school and the oldest is out of college. The clock is ticking down. I keep looking at the incentives and trying to stave off the itch to reach for the phone.

If I buy annual passes - I'm done for - I try to do creative things with the points I have and figure out a way to get 3 or 4 trips in on those passes. Even if I can't stay at a DVC resort and have to pay for a room. Which is why I need to add on so I can get MY dvc fix. :worship:

Hi, My name is Angela. I am a DVC addict.

Now what? I don't think I'm cured. I'm headed to DLR in a little over three weeks and will be out to WDW/cruise in Nov. :goodvibes

Long range planning has us hoping to be on the Westbound Panama Canal Wonder repo in 2011.

I am in denial and can stop any time I like.

Actually we have only been members for a year now and have already enjoyed two wonderful vacations. Our first was at HH and we loved it. We actually spent our first week at Disney HH and then went across the street for a second week at a Palmento Dunes rental condo. After Disney HH we were bored at the other condo.

Then we just returned 2 days ago from 8 nights at BCV and I have to say it was the best vacation I had ever been on. We had a wonderful time.

I only have one contract but am waiting for the right contract to come up so we can add on at HH. We enjoyed HH very much and like the fact that we can drive there.

I think for our next trip we may try VB.

This would be GREAT!! I can especially see this being a great sales tool when Hawaii DVC opens as people on the East coast could go to disneyland for a few days before or after going to hawaii!!

My name is Mike. I am a DVC addict.
:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::thumbsup2 If I could afford it I would add a lot more than an additional 130 points when we are on vacation in a few days. That will only bring us to 500. I am really hating add-onitis!

My name is Claire and I am a DVC addict; but I do not want to be cured. :rotfl: I am comfortable in my addiction, I hope to keep feeding my addiction, and rejoice with all others who are also enjoying their addiction.:dance3: I live in envy of those who can have a greater than 1000 point habit:rotfl2: and aspire to be there one day. Come on lucky lottery numbers!!!:lmao:
