Hi everyone! Ok I know this may sound stupid, but I really don't know anything about camcorders. I just bought the W30 camera. and I was wondering if there are any waterproof camcorders for personal use. Pictures are great but it'll be cool to have some video too.

I have the Canon A610 with an u/w housing, it has a video mode on it so I can actually shoot a little video if I want (I've taken hundreds of u/w pictures but no video yet). I'm not sure what the options are for camcorders. I don't know if there are any that are waterproof but I bet there are waterproof bags that you can get for camcorders.

And by the way, it's not a stupid question at all!! Underwater photography has come a long ways thanks to housings and waterproof cameras, it's only logical that people would want to shoot video. I saw an amazing video online last year of a sea turtle that a diver was following but I don't remember what he was using for equipment, I'm pretty sure it was just a p&s camera with a housing.

Hey Fonsy, I don't know the answer to your question. Though and underwater camcorder sounds like a cool idea. I just wanted to say there is no such thing as a dumb question!

Yes, there is underwater housing for camcorders and water resistant video recorders too.

I have been looking into them for my DH.

ON this topic.....Anyone have any firsthand experience with a Bonica Snapper Dive DV?

Aquapac sells waterproof camera bags that might work for you. I know someone here posted a couple video clips that they took with the bag and they looked really good. If you do a search under "waterproof camera bag" you might find the thread.
