The dreaded transferring point question.

I have transferred points between accounts before and that has been no big deal. We transffer points because we have stayed with other DVC members in a 2-bedroom and split the points. It makes it easier for one person to make the reservations.

Now for the real question. Can I transfer Aug. 2004 points into their account today or do I have to wait until Aug.?

I know all of you will have the answer. Thanks in advance.

You have to wait, You can transfer the points in Aug. 2004
if you wanted to use the points it would be like borrowing the points and borrowed points cannot be transferred, sorry

I think you should call MS and ask about your specific situation.

Assuming that your group wants to make a reservation for a stay after 8/1/2004, but before 7/31/2005, there should be a way to transfer your points so that your group can take advantage of the 11 month window for the reservation.

It's worth a call - just doesn't sound right to me that you have to wait until your use year begins. I may be wrong.

yup, it can be done.........i just transferred a bunch of my 8/04 points to another member last week ~ it just requires MS to do a "manual transfer", which takes about a day. (btw, i called them cos it does seem odd that you can transfer something you don't actually have yet, but apparently it's done semi-frequently)

im sorry if i gave you wrong info, this may be a case it depends on which ms you get on the phone.

there was another post about transfer points and i think dvc should give us some written rules on transfering points, good luck i hope you get to transfer the points so you can make your ressies.

again im very sorry for the bad info, i was just basing my info on , i was going to rent points from another member but they were their 2004 points and their use year is late in the year, well the dvc member told be they couldnt transfer because they actually didnt get the points yet, that is what ms had told them.

but now we know you can !

I had another member transfer her March 04 points to me back in August of 03. I needed them to complete a reservation. The supervisor explained they would be manually transferred into my account and I could call back in a day and they would be available for use.

not all of the MS cast members will know all the transfer rules, so be diligent. for reference, you can take a look at the link in my sig.
