The Dreaded Stroller Question

I like for using it for stuff and for the kiddo when we are booking it to catch something.

We are pretty intense travelers at times - kids and parents

How much sitting will your 4 year old do? Would it be possible for them to take turns? At 4, only one of mine would sit in the stroller for any amount of time and it was due to his sensory issues. I wouldn't worry about what others think - do what works for your family. But - if there's a chance of a single working, I'd use it just to make it easier to navigate through crowds and fold it for the buses. (We attached a very short rope to the stroller for a child not in the stroller to hold. This really helped when walking through crowds to stay together).

We took a trip with a single stroller and kids ages 11 months, 3 years, and 6 years. My 6 year old was too heavy for the stroller so we told him we would stay in the parks as long as everyone was acting like they could handle more. My 6 year old complained about walking 10 steps before the trip for months. I think it was a combo growing pains and laziness. Somehow, that all disappeared at Disney. He didn't want to be the reason we left the parks so he made sure he wasn't. (My 3 year old used the stroller and the 11 month old was in a sling). We did 7 different parks and did commando style in the mornings and then relaxed a bit and he did an amazing job. We had expected to need to slow down or spend less time in the parks but he rose to the occasion. So - you never know. If you feel like your 6 year old will likely need one, then it comes down to figuring out if your 4 year old will likely need one too. Most, but not all, 4 year olds need one some of the time.
