The doctor says came back normal

Just popping in to say, sorry you are feeling so sick! Hope you feel better soon.
Just keep demanding HELP and go with your gut, NO one should have to suffer like you are doing....they MUST get to the bottom of it. Best of Luck:wizard:

And by the way, THANK YOU to your Family for your service to keep this great country of ours SAFE and STRONG! :grouphug:

My brothers girlfriend seems to be in a similar situation. I don't know her well and first thought she was anorexic but my brother says she keeps going for testing and doctors can't find what's wrong with her. She weighs nothing, barely eats anything and is sick when she does.

I really hope you get it figured out soon. Seems weird that many people seem to have a similar issue and doc's can't figure it out. :confused3

Wow I sure hope you feel better! I thought I read that your gallbladder was functioning at 48%? That is ok?

I got really sick with my gall bladder..but mine was functioning fine and had no stones...I kept changing doctors because i knew something was wrong. So finally I got some scans and tests done and they found out it was my bile duct..it wasn't big enough..they removed the gall bladder since that helps it..the next step would be to put a pin in..but I haven't heard great things about it..so I put up some pain now and then but it is better since the gb removal...I think i would change doctors..to not be concerned with a 35 lb weight loss due to vomiting...doesn't make sense..Keep pushing these docs to find what is wrong..I know your tired..but keep fighting..

I also know some people with Celiac's and they were really really sick..I think you can get a blood test for that?

Have you thought about Celiac disease? An intolerance to gluten. That may be the culprit. I've known people who were like this for years and years and it took forever to get a diagnosis.

But regardless, I hope you feel better soon!

I was going to mention that too. It.

There is a radio personality on our local radio show (wgn 720) who has it and has made it a mission to make everyone aware of it.

Here is a podcast of his on the subject. Bear with them he and his wife (co-host) tend to be chatie but there is a lot of info there. It will take a minute for the mp3 to load. There may be a skip at the beginning just let it play.

Oh Tina, I'm so sorry! It just stinks to be so miserable all of the time! I will say a prayer that this doctor will run the right tests and be able to find some answers and proper treatment for you.

I hope you feel better and get some answers soon. In the meantime, a heating pad works wonders when you're having stomach issues. Good luck.

Tina, I really hope you get some answers soon. Keeping you in my prayers.

I remember your mystery symptoms from before; sorry they haven't subsided.

That's great and I need to lose more.

I have my well woman exam next month and plan to bring all this up to her.

I'm really disturbed that he feels that losing weight by starvation and throwing up is OK. Wonder how the medical board would feel about that.

I'm also really disturbed if he hasn't even palpated your abdomen. I figure that b/c you're waiting for your gyn to do that (and more of course) he hasn't even touched your belly? That's seriously strange to me.

I'd find someone new who does a FULL palpatory exam of the abdomen (external, I mean), I'd look into the gluten free thing, and I'd probably also find some natural healthcare providers as well. (well, I'd go all natural healthcare providers, chiros, acupuncturists, maybe an ND if I really wanted to (but in WA they aren't all that much different, it turns out), but many people aren't OK with doing that :))

Oh, Tina. I've been there - when no answer is easily found - and you SHOULD just cry. It's damn frustrating to not know what is going on with your own body.

The problem with the board of Dis doctors making guesses is that your symptoms, sadly, can be so many things. They also line up with my disease (Crohns). And none of us can prescribe your meds and treatments even if we figure out what's wrong (a friend on another board I post on actually "diagnosed" me with Crohns 2 months before my GI did! I had never heard of it!)

I can't believe it took so long to get to a GI :headache: I would ask about both colonoscopy and endoscopy if you don't see relief from the Nexium soon. It may show up something that they haven't seen before.

Tina--So sorry you're not feeling well.

My friend had similar symptoms and it was lactose intolerance.

My sister had similar symptoms and they found that the flap on the top of her esophagus wasn't working properly.

My DH had similar symptoms and it turned out to be H. Pylori.

I know that the info doesn't help you much but thought it could be a couple of things to bring up to your PCP.

I'm hoping they figure it out soon but until they do,please try to relax! The stress of worrying will make the symptoms worse.

Take some time for you and put all this out of your mind...easier said than done I know. But us sitting here tossing out all these diseases isn't helping your stress level.

Keep burning up the MTF phone lines--Soon you'll have your answers

One thing that bothers me is that doctors say your test is normal but what is normal for everyone else may not be normal for you. When they did an ultrasound of my gallbladder it looked to be normal size. Luckily I got an appointment with the surgeon rather quickly because I had been having symptoms for so long. There was something about a few stones in my tests that he was afraid they were going to break free and cause major problems so he scheduled me for surgery the next morning. He was so glad he got me into surgery so quickly. He told me that if we had waited 24 more hours there was a strong possibility I may not have survived. My gallbladder was so infected and so swollen it was about to rupture. He said it would have been so bad that it would have poisoned my whole body. So on the ultrasound my gallbladder looked normal size but it wasn't. Mine was super swollen. My normal isn't the average normal. At the time we didn't know that.

No matter what I want you to find relief.

Oh, my friend who has also being having some of these issues was telling me to try pear juice. Someone told her it is supposed to help with the nausea. She said it is helping her. She said to get the kind without the added sugar.

Good luck!

Hi Tina!!

I hope you find some answers soon. It is so frustrating.

I had similar experiences back in 1998 (not with vomiting thank god) but I did lose 25 lbs in 2.5 months due to stomach issues. I started with giardia. They couldn't diagnose me for 2 months because no one would look for it. That's when I lost my weight. Besides what you can imagine with giardia, I also had a lot of nausea and I could not eat much at each sitting. If I took in 1,000 calories a day, it was a good day. Believe me, I did NOT need to lose the 25 lbs and I think that's what finally scared the docs. I did get the giardia diagnosed and a $10 prescription fixed that. Unfortunately, I was left with nausea and I couldn't eat. By that time I was starting to have anxiety over the whole thing because I thought I was dying!! The did an endoscope and found some mild inflammation. My doc gave me Prilosec and within a week, I was MUCH better. For some reason, the whole incident set off GERD and some stomach inflammation that has never gone away. If I stop taking my GERD meds, I get a LOT of nausea.

So, I really hope that this is all you have. But I know how frustrating it is to continue to feel ill and having to wait all that time to even see people. I was so depressed. It was just an awful time for me.

I vomit about 3x a week
I hurt so much on the right side about 3 inches under my breast bone
I belch like sailor and just feel yucky alot

I've had a CT scan, ultrasound, HIDA scan, and gastro emptying stomach test so far. The GI doctor said today maybe I need to go on anti depressant to "relax" my stomach.

I agree with the person that said you need a good gastroenterologist. I have crohn's disease I found out later. Before, I would go to the ER all the time for non-stop vomiting and pain. It was horrid cramping pain like someone was squeezing my abdomen as tight as possible, and just when I though I couldn't stand it, they released, only to squeeze back even tighter. The belching/reflux was part of it.

I had all kinds of tests done, and no answer. Finally, I thought I would die before we could make it to our usual ER 8 miles away, and told DH to take me to the little podunk hospital that was closer. Well, at that little podunk ER, the next thing I knew was a doctor introducing himself saying he was going to operate the next day on me because he thought I had crohn's disease. He was right. The vomiting and belching was because I had a bowel obstruction. I've had a few operations since to remove obstructions, and take meds, and I'm in remission now.

Good luck and :grouphug:

I'm also really disturbed if he hasn't even palpated your abdomen. I figure that b/c you're waiting for your gyn to do that (and more of course) he hasn't even touched your belly? That's seriously strange to me.

Why would you assume he hadn't palpated her abdomen?

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so yucky and I hope that they can figure out what it is (and how to make you feel better) soon.

Sending you lots of flowers because I suspect that even virtual chocolate won't go down well at the moment.

You are a very special person and I hope that you find a resolution soon. I'll be thinking of you.....
