As of right now it is still not officially confirmed whether Ascendant, the fourth and final Divergent movie, is still happening, but if The Divergent Series: Allegiant sells well on Home Media, then it will help support Ascendant happening. They are so close to the finish line with only the resolving conclusion left to go; they cannot just leave the movie series at this point without it.

With them cutting Ascendant's budget down, they will be able to return to the same kind of effort and essence that they had with the first Divergent movie, as well as the kind of effort and essence that was put into The Maze Runner movies, all of which were made with a similar kind of lower budget. The lower the budget means that they will be able to focus more on the script and overall content that they are trying to portray, rather than overdoing it with an abundance of CGI and other stylized effects.

The release dates for Allegiant on 4K Blu ray/Blu ray/DVD are as follows:

July 12 2016 - North America
July 13 2016 - France
July 27 2016 - Australia

It will also be released on OnDemand and Digital HD Media on June 21 2016 in North America

Any country or continent not listed here should have their Home Media formats of the movie released at around the same time or fairly close to/not much farther from those listed.

Ehhh, I LOVED the first movie so so much and the second one was alright but this last one was so disappointing, I would rather just leave it as is and pretend that is how it ended! LOL

I love this series! I will definitely be purchasing it when it comes out on DVD.

It has too much of a cliff hanger ending to end as it is and like I said, with a lower budget, along with the fact that they have admitted that they rushed Allegiant (http://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/...ent-series-allegiant-we-wanted-to-hit-a-date/), Ascendant should be much better. As well, say and think what you will about the Twilight series, but the higher box office grosses and overall fan and certain audience reactions towards the sequels proved that Summit/Lionsgate considerably listen to the fans and also take into account what worked and what didn't. Past 2 Part movies have also proven that Part 2 has generally more effort put into it due to it being the grand finale of the series.

I liked the first, thought the second was awful and didn't even know there was a third one already. I guess if they don't make the 4th one it wouldn't bother me at all.

I truly hope those rumors are false.
They should have made movie four when they filmed movie three to save money and time.
Well, really they shouldn't have split up the darn book and made one movie!!
I am very uninterested in a tv movie or series.
I'd like a theater movie that goes to DVD so I can have the whole story in DVD. As it is, I haven't bought Allegient yet and may not if the fourth movie doesn't take place.

I loved the book series and enjoyed the first two movies. I was so excited to see Allegiant, but my students told me it was horrible and nothing like the book so I never did watch it.

This seemed like a movie series that really required reading the books. DD read the books, I didn't. I feel lost when I watch these movies. I did not feel that way at all with Hunger Games or Maze Runner. Maze Runner were pretty amazing in the world of books made into movies to me. It was probably the best "first in a series" that I have seen (excluding Harry Potter, of course).

I saw on Facebook an article saying it will probably be aired on tv rather than theatres. People are just exhausted and they got greedy by splitting the last book. We've been through Twilight and Harry Potter and Hunger Games. Maze runner and God knows what else. Who can take anymore?

Like every other YA series...I read the first book and 3/4 of the way through I was wishing all the characters would die.

I watched the first two movies because first I was curious about....second movie husband wanted to see since I made him watch the first. Now he wants to see what happens next and I'm totally not interested.

I miss when authors could wrap up what they had to say in one book.

While I liked The Hunger Games, I got pretty unhappy about 1/4 way through Catching Fire and gave up.

Does Catcher in the Rye count as YA? Because Holden Caulfield is a big freaking whiner.
