The disney survival bag swap... on hold

Sandra should be around this weekend. I think she is going to be heading home this weekend. :)

Alright guys and gals I leave in the morning and I appear to have a hiccup. The person who is supposed to be "handing off" to me has not replied to my message. Did anyone hand off to Mrsannb?????

Thanks!

We had a gap between my departure on 10/22 and her arrival on 10/25, but I dropped off the bags with luggage services at BCV for transfer to VWL under her name/reservation number. She had my cell phone number, so I have to assume I would have heard from her by now if the bags never arrived. Unfortunately, I don't have contact information for her...we only communicated via PM.

I had the same concern with our daughter, so the first night I sorted the items. The large suitcase has the "survival" items; the smaller Nautica bag has all the "fun" items; and the small cooler has kitchen/laundry items...or at least this is how I left it when we departed on 10/22!

Thanks for the info. I think this is such a great idea!! Having all the items in seperate bags would help a ton. I could only open the "survival" and kitchen/laundry bags and leave the fun one closed if I want. :thumbsup2

Hey, Sandra!

I know you've been away, I just wanted to make sure you saw my request for the Survival Bag July 11-20. Sorry I won't be able to meet you on Nov 14th but that's a lot easier for you!

Have people been successful on getting the bag transferred via luggage services?

This would be a much easier option ... I just want to make sure that others have been successful before arranging this myself.

I thought people were physically taking the bag to the next resort. I'd certainly like to do the transfer route instead since we won't have a rental car.

Thanks for the feedback!:goodvibes

We'd have to ask mrsannb to confirm, but I assume the bags were transferred to VWL and she got them...it's really no different than changing resorts yourself (which we normally do once or twice per vacation) and having luggage services move your bags.

I *think* Sandra doesn't want to chance it coming up missing when letting bell services transfer the bag. That is the reason she has been picking it up and delivering it, to keep it out of Luggage services...as it will get lost there for sure. She had requested that the swapping be hand to hand and if it wasn't possible, she would personally deliver it to the next person.

Not saying it isn't possible, but I would definitely be sure as if it was transfered and the other person doesn't find it at the transfered resort, they might not have Sandra's info or the person who transfered it to their resort....there would be no way of knowing it was missing until that person returned from WDW. By then, it could be gone gone for good.

Ok, thanks. It should be a smooth transfer, esp since it really is a suitcase (not like we're trying to transfer a refrigerator!)

Thanks Maddi! I hear what you are saying. Sandra, thoughts?

Marshay,

Are you getting excited yet??? You're almost ready to start the single number dance!

I can't find the post at the moment does anyone know what size that cute tinkerbell outfit in the bag is? Also are there bandaids in the bag? Any sunscreen? Trip is coming up and making a packing list. My kids will be so excited about those mickey lite sabers

Is there any way my family could be a part of this swap for next year?:flower3: Our current dates are September 21-October 5, 2010. The dates will be modified slightly once my dh gets his furlough dates but that is what we have booked now, all star music.

Thanks so much!

I made the Tink outfit. It is an elastic waist with a pull so you could make the waist smaller. I think the shirt is about 7/8 and the skirt. I plan to make a few more outfits and will try to make a very small and then a bigger one too.

Yes, the sunscreen saved our skin! Thanks to the person who donated it. I must confess to all that DS put the MNSSHP bag in our suitcase and we came home with it. Then I didn't send it back. I have washed it but feel terrible that others missed using it because of me. I am sorry and will be sending it back along with a new outfit. I am thinking a pirate outfit this time? Any suggestions on what custom clothing you would like to see in the bag????

When I used it in Sept., I added bandaids---pretty ones--tye dye ones. Of course we were at POP so we had matching bandaids. :rotfl: There was a first aid kit too.

Yep, Sunscreen but I know a few ppl have used it. Hopefully someone added more since my trip.

The sabers were neat. Ohhh there is so many things in the bag. Really a Godsend!

Hi,

Probably as it looks as tho no one has requested it for that time. As soon as Sandra gets online she can give you a definite. :)

I think a cute Pirate outfit would be awesome. One outfit for each gender! I think next year, we are going to add a few Halloween outfits of different sizes. I have tons of them now...lol...Wal-Mart had all of theis costumes marked down to $1.00. I bought 20 of them...OMG my OCD is crazy sometimes! But I was thinking of adding a few of the cute ones to the bag incase someone wants to use them for meals, MNSSHP, etc. Granted they aren't Disney costumes but in a last minute pinch...they are an outfit. :)

We will be coming down Jan 6-14th. We always extra stuff left over. I'll keep you posted as we get closer to the date.

Can't believe it has already been two weeks since we left Disney, but there were plenty of bandaids (and other first aid items) and sunscreen left in the bag when we departed on 10/22.
