I just went to the Somerset Collection Mall Directory on their Somerset Collection website. They listed The Disney Store with the caption underneath it "Arriving soon!" I think the reason why the left Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA is because they are having a better deal with Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan, USA. There has not been a Disney Store in Troy, Michigan, USA (Since they left Oakland Mall in 2007).

I don't know if I would believe the two are related. I was surprised when they took it out of Somerset in the first place- they used to have the Disney store plus that art of Disney store. The Great Lakes store has been getting busier so they are likely moving back to that area just because the local economy seems to be picking back up.
When we stop by Lakeside it doesn't feel like that location is doing as well. A few times in the last couple years an item has been on sale and we've driven out there because they are the only place in the state with it in stock, which means they aren't moving product.

(PS, their project end date from the construction documents is May 9... so I would look for it in June)

I haven't been to Lakeside since Christmas, I wasn't aware it closed. :( But I'm not surprised. Lakeside is a wasteland. Half the mall's already empty, and there aren't many people in the stores that are left. Somerset's better off, makes sense to open there.

We know someone who worked at the Lakeside store and said it is closing due to high theft. Sad - very sad!

Between Partridge Creek and Somerset Collection everything at Lakeside has been on the decline for quite a while now. Before too long it'll be as bad as Macomb Mall - a couple of anchor stores with more empty storefronts than occupied ones in between.

Does this mean Lakeside Mall is going to become a dead mall? I know The Disney Store in Crestwood Mall in Crestwood, Missouri, USA closed down after the mall went out of business.

I'm really hoping they open one at Partridge Creek. There really isn't a lot there for kids. Somerset isn't bad for me but Partridge (and Lakeside) are closer. Now that the Disney store has closed I'll probably only go to Lakeside if I need something from H&M which won't be often.

YOU HAVE MADE ME SOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!:donald::sulley::tigger::maleficen:simba:

This has made my day! We live west of Ann Arbor, and although sommerset is nowhere on the close side I will take it! Planned on taking the kids over to great lakes crossing this week, they are off for spring break, so hoping to find some frozen stuff, although I'm sure they have nothing. I used to go the one at sommerset all the time and was so disappointed they closed that one. Happy they will be open by DD birthday in July!!!:cheer2:

You realize the Great Lakes one is an outlet, right? They often have items on sale that are regular price at the other stores as well as selling lots of clearance merchandise they remove from other stores and the parks. You could easily go to Sommerset and find an item for $25 to find it's on sale for $15 at Great Lakes the same day.
Last year we were buying the boys costumes, Great Lakes was having a huge sale but was missing one size we needed. We drove all the way out to Lakeside because they had it- for $40 more!
