Good morning and happy Saturday! Any big plans for today? It's a little chilly here, so DH and I will be working on our trip report website today. Hopefully it will warm up for tomorrow as we will be attending a DISmeet picnic!

So, is anyone else annoyed by the closing of the debate board? I never went to there and I certainly do not want the CB to become the new DB. I can already see/feel the animosity in some of the posts. I hope they don't shut down the CB if things start to get out of hand. One can only hope that once the shock of the DB being closed wears off, things will start to return to normal.

Disclaimer: Please no flaming. I am not trying to start anything here (especially a debate) or make anyone mad. This is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.

i too would liketo see the debaters join in here on our nice lil fluff board,, yeah right, hopefully it wont be too bad as they merge in with teh other boards, and we can all get along nicely in true disney fashion,,

side note,, after an hour of electraosis on my eye lids yesterday,, they hurt today not sure how long i'm goingto be up today,,lol,,,

I agree Colleen. I haven't been around too long, but I'm not one who likes to debate, or conflict. I thought that the debate board was a good idea for those who do like to debate. This community is nice. I like nice.

Oh what a beautiful day it turned out to be! It was quite chilly this morning, so I was doubtful that the pool would be on our list to do today. The girls begged to go up, so I caved and we went. I figured we'd be there an hour tops. Okay, so we got there at noon, and didn't leave until four pm! LOL It turned out to be quite nice. No clouds in the sky. The water was warm, only the air was a bit nippy when you got out of the water. I didn't swim, but I did get burnt! We ended up having my FIL over for a cookout.. just the perfect temp for one!

OH, and my MICKEY luggage came!!! WHOOOO HOOOOOOOOO! We absolutely love it, and now DH and I are fighting over who gets it! LOL We may have to order another set. If any of you were thinking of getting it, DO IT. It's really great quality for the price! On sale for $69.99!

Colleen... I'm with you! I hope the CB doesn't turn into another debate board. I like all the polls and questions on the CB. I like reading the variety of opinions and responses, especially since there's rarely any flaming or nastiness. I stay away from the debate board. I don't mind others having different opinions than myself, but I don't want to be criticized for mine.

Yardbird... what is your name? LOL ... When are you leaving for Disney World!? I'm assuming it's soon since you're starting to pack! I can't wait to start packing my new luggage, but unfortunately, I've got a while for that!

Froggy... sounds like a painful process you are going through. How long have you had to do this, and how much more of it do you have to endure?

I haven't been around in a few days and I come back to all this about the debate board being closed. I really hope that the former DB'ers will at least list [Debate] in the titles of their posts so all of us CB'ers can just move on to the next thread. I have enough stress in my life. When I come to the Disboards it's to unwind a bit.

they ve been working on my lids since hte wreck in october. 13 trips to or so far we think unless we missed one or 2,,, they hav ben doing elerctralosis for three months now , monthly, and the y pluck hairs every week

Wow. That's one heck of a story. You are lucky you survived that. It angers me that the woman who did this to you hasn't been punished yet. Is she still allowed to drive at this point? Insane.

as far as we can tel;l; yeah her mom, whos e car she was in when we colided,, has gotten her another car, we are hoping the judge and jury take her to cleaners,, especially since her mom seems to be helping to try and get her out of it, her mom is the reason we were delayed so far,, she has had drs appointments or surgery on court dates so far. i need to take a set of bills over to the prosecutor this week if i get the chance and rthe victoms coordinator is in her office, she and the prosecutor is wanting to present al the bills and the operating room pics to the jury, in hopes that she will be forced to work off criminal restitution while shes in jail, they are saying a min of 25 yrs on the diufferent charges, granted they might be in conjunction instyead of consecutive, be hes shooting for consecutive , this was her 6th dui 2nd with out her liscence so shes facving felo ny dui now along with vehicular battery etc.. was really happty to hear he was t rying for attemped vehivcular hoimicide too.. not sure how its goin to go

but i can really say i got a hard haed now,, i am only person i know can say they knowwhat it feels like to be hit in the head with a motorhome..lol

and my drs are really optomistic that at some point they will have me nearly normal usage of the eye, once the entire ordeal is over, i am goiung to take it and write an inspirational novel and will take teh pulpit as a motivational speaker if thats still what He has in mind for me, rioght now it definately looks that way, i already have three churches interested in my coming to speak, and i am more thasn willing to become that lone crusador for seat belt usage and tougher drunk driving laws.

i do miss my hair,, ( had really long curly blond hair) its gone,, i had to get it cut short to be able to care fo5r it, i couldnt shampoo or brush for along time after the wreck, its still a questionable activity, my beard is all but gone, i kept a goatee and mustache,, used to waer a full longer beard my dd had only seen me shaven twice in 11 years dw three times, i've gaind over 50 lbs, witgh no seeming way i can get it off till drs letme go,, rifght now i'm stillnoit sposed to bend over, lift anything, no twisting pulling or pushing, walking is ok,, except for the dizzy spells, blurred vision blind spots on right side,,,haventrh ad much memory prollem s lately,, but with the major concusion i had, i could wake up at anytime and be amnesiatic anypointy in the next 20 yrs,, i have severae mood swings still,, dw has threatened to get me on hormone replacement theropy,,lol,, one these days when they get me semi humanistic looking again,, i;'ll post a pic or two till then i thiunk i gonna wait unless some of the pics from mothers day trip to lake turn out ok,, i mightpost those,,

I can't believe that with this girls history with DUI's that she is being allowed to get out of court all these times. She needs some SERIOUS help! It's sad that after all she's done, she's out there driving along still. You'd think that her mother would care enough for her to get her off the streets instead of bailing her out.

morning.. pardon my spelling,, no coffee yet yeah this family is well known for being enablers,, a cousin to this girl( whos 32 now btw way old nuff to know better) just died in jail from pnuemonia because no one would bail him out, apparently a family member got him drunk and dropped him off down town with no way to get home we know the family pretty well, they are distant cousins to dw, and her family is a mess.. we avoid them at all cost,, aint gettin into in laws here,,lol,, take too much bandwidth and the webmasters would ban me..lol.. as for getting out of court shes done it by having drs send letters to lawyers from her mom,, sposedly her moms having heart problems, but i think the judge is going to really make her stick to this next court date. hes taken all plera option off thetable, she has to face jury and hopefully no jury will let her walk after this, specially since it was in a residential area between 2 schools right after school let out if i hadnt been there would have either been the car with 2 lil boys or the car load of teens. The Victoims advocate says shes fairly certasin that they arent goingto let her walk, the other eveidence, ( appartently her passenger is going to testify on prosecution side) along with my medical records and the witnesses , the scene evidence places her speed at over 85 mph on impact, they should have no problem getting her locked up for awhile anyway, may only be a cpl years but i am hoping.

Good evening all. Went to church this morning and because we go so early we end up just pooped by mid afternoon. I did do something producitive today though, I bought a new laptop. Boy do we need one. Now DH won't get angry because I'm always on the dis, and he can't get to the internet

geess what a day,, trying to get dd's room back together, we got her shelving up, mirror hung, tv mount built, and installed, got pictuers hung andthe 500 ort so stuffed aminals back in there, got part of the curtains hung, and blinds, we have a cpl more cabinets to close out and a closet to curtain over the opening to,, and then the bamboo, but that may take a bit have n t been able to go cut it yet,,lol

long day. going to have to go with dw to a job tomorrow,, so may not get much done in dd's room, but hopefully by the wek end it'll be together, with trhe exception of the bamboo.

I picked up my Mom this morning, then took my oldest daughter to a Pool Party. Not much swimming going on today though. VERY overcast (never saw the sun) and the water was freezing! We're in for some storms tomorrow too. Blech. So much for a wonderful weekend (weatherwise!)

So I leave for 3 days and they close the DB? Everything exciting always happens when I'm not looking! I used to participate over there in a few debates, but quit when it seemed like few were truly interested in debating - just hurling potshots at each other. I wonder where all the DB people will go? Hopefully they won't try and take over the CB.

Albuquerque was fun but WINDY. Also a little chilly. The tournament went "okay". It was really a pre-tryout for some girls trying to make the team, so we weren't expecting to do fantastically well, and, we didn't.

Froggy, I hurt just thinking about all of the painful processes you're going through on your recovery. Please remember we're all thinking of you!

Good Morning!

It has actually turned out to be a nice, sunny day! Unlike yesterday, where the gloomy rains forced everybody to the malls! I needed to return something, and got in and out quickly. It was a zoo! Maybe I should have stayed to practice my crowd tolerance!

I'm getting things together for our trip to WDW this Sunday. Does anyone ever feel like you are taking WAY too much stuff?!
It seems like I keep thinking of things to take "just in case."

We decided to have a shuttle bus pick us up at home instead of parking in long-term. That can be such a hassle with bags, and adds additional time since we park, and then must catch a tram to the airport. I've arranged for TTC to pick us up at MCO to take us to POFQ, and on the return. I've never used TTC before, or any limo company for that matter, so we'll see how it goes. I have a car reserved for a few days (must hit the outlet malls), we'll pick that up at the Disney car care center.

What in the world will I plan when our trip is over? This has been such fun, and we haven't even left yet!

I will never again be able to hear the name "Albuquerque" without thinking of the Albuquerque Turkey! LOL

Debbie, I can understand, the "just in case" mentality of packing. I always have this fear that I'll forget something that we need, so I bring everything but the kitchen sink!

We took so much stuff to Albuquerque it wasn't funny for a 3 1/2 day trip (and yes, like you, I will forever be singing "Albuquerque the Turkey" whenever I think of that city).

The planning for trips is almost as much fun as going for me. I just put down the deposit for our Australia/New Zealand trip and I have 7 months to dream and prepare now!
