The Disney Chiques Clique meeting held here

Good Morning!

The weather is beautiful! Is it fall already? Yesterday the temp was in the 60's, and I opened my windows and let the breezes blow. This morning is a bit cool too, but it is supposed to be warmer than yesterday.

I had a very quiet Father's Day. DH worked so that he can take a few days off at the end of the week when one of his daughters will be visiting from MA. She's a yankee's fan, and they have tickets for the "O's/Yankee's game this Thursday at Camden Yards. Though I love the fit of a baseball uniform ;) I'm not crazy enough about the game to have a 65.00 seat, so I will find something else to do while they are in Baltimore.

Sandy, I think we will visit DC one day this week. It's so close, we rarely go, and there are so many things of interest. We usually drive to the closest metro station and take that in instead of driving. It's been several years since our last visit; I'm looking forward to it!

Have a great day everyone!

:bday: :cake:

Happy Birthday to your daughter Holly! I can smell the cake from here.....yummmmmmmm.

Happy Birthday to your daughter, Holly. Sounds like a relaxing day - have a fun one at the pool! Your "camping" sounds like a good time - although I'd miss my own bed too much (I'm a camping wimp!) Birthday cake sounds good right now - I've got a cup of coffee here that could use it!

Debbie - Ron and I have both been to D.C. before, but it's been over 20 years for us. I even attended American University for a semester on a Criminal Justice Semester exchange program back in college. We know it's going to be HOT AND HUMID, but we're looking forward to seeing, among other things, the new WWII Memorial. Also thought we'd drive down to Williamsburg and spend a day or two as well. You're fortunate enough to be within less than a day's distance of so many sights!

You'll have a blast in D.C.! It's a beautiful city! I grew up in Maryland, just outside of DC and took numerous school fieldtrips downtown. WE don't go often enough now... rather take it for granted. Shouldn't though! There's so much to do!

Holly; thanks for the kind words. We're looking forward to showing our teenagers that part of the country. They've never been to the East Coast (except for WDW, of course).

I appreciate what you say about living close to cultural or scenic places, but not really visiting them very often. We talked about that yesterday while in Breckenridge - we live 2 hours away, but rarely take advantage of going up to the mountains unless there's a lot of advance planning. Sad, really, because there is so much to do all within less than a day's drive.

Seems like we get caught up in the "day to day" business of life. Especially when you have kids!
