Although we've never stayed at WL, we've eaten at Roaring Forks twice and I have to say it is one of my favorite Deluxe resort counter services. Everything we've had there has been really good, and all of your meals look yummy (especially that turkey sandwich with the chips!).

Aside from the Bounty platter snafu at the very beginning of the trip, we really enjoyed everything we got from there. Service was very friendly. We would go back in a second. Yes, we were VERY happy at Wilderness Lodge !!!

Oh my! The turkey & havarti sandwich sound so good as well as the pepperoni flatbread! And those cupcakes..... nicely done! They both look so delicious.

I am sorry for so many Roaring Forks updates. We ate there A LOT. It was just so convenient and I never got the same thing twice. They really did have a good selection. Near the end of the trip, you really feel like grabbing some thing healthy after eating junky stuff the whole trip, so the sandwich fit the bill. The flatbreads were really good. I like the crust thin like that. They had a special flat bread every day.

Also, I've never tried the Yak & Yeti counter service but your meal there looks really good and the portion sizes were pretty good. I've got to put that on my "to do" list!

We got up about 8 AM and got the car all packed and we checked out. Waaahhhhhhhh !!!

We really loved Wilderness Lodge. It is just a cozy and quiet resort. It is like you are insulated from everything and it has such a relaxing feel to it.

I took a photo of this decorative turquoise on the front of the check-in counter.

I think it is real. It FELT real. But we all know how god Disney is at making things look real when they arent. Anyway, I thought it was pretty.

We went to Roaring Fork for breakfast AGAIN and had the same stuff wed been having all week.

DH and I each got the Croissant sandwich.

I had this to drink

I havent had chocolate milk in a long time and for some reason, this tasted amazing. It was nice and cold, too. I think that temperature really makes a difference. See ??? It is the little things.

DD had her Mickey waffles

And DS had his pancakes

Exciting News !!! DH called from work said he had some vacation he needed to use up and why don't we rebook our Thanksgiving trip ??? I had cancelled it because I thought I would still be in a cast. But since I know I will be out of my cast by then, I think I can swing it. Plus, I can be scooter mom again.

So ... just like that, we are booked for 11/22/12-11/25/12 in a 1BR at SSR !! One my my BFF's(Pixie Princess) will be there and we really love to spend time with her and her DD, so that will be nice and I hope to get a dismeet or two in as well !!

I am pumped !!!!!

The Mickey waffles were always fresh and sooo good !! You are right, who doesn't love those ??

I know !! I am sooooo excited about our upcoming trip !! I hope nothing happens between now and then.

Lunch at Fairfax Fare

For our last Disney meal, we headed towards Fairfax Fare to get something to eat for lunch.

They have a salad here that I really like and that is what I ordered.

Fairfax Salad - chopped romaine, chili, tomato, roasted corn, sweet peppers, Monterey Jack, and corn tortillas, served with a jalapeno ranch dressing $7.99

I usually ask for it without the dressing, but I forgot this time. I just like a hint of dressing on my salads because I really enjoy the taste of the vegetables and their crunchy texture. I think too much dressing can spoil a really good salad. I really enjoyed this one though and the jalapeno ranch added a nice kick. It is very similar to a taco salad and it even has these crunchy tortilla strips in it. As I got to the bottom, though, there was too much dressing on it for me. I would definitely order this again, but I would ask for the dressing on the side, so I can control how much I get.

DH got the chicken and ribs

Chicken and Spareribs - served with baked beans and coleslaw $15.19

He said these were just OK. He prefers a more savory taste to his barbeque and he said all of these items were more sweet.

DS surprised me by ordering

Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon and Truffle Oil - coleslaw $8.59

This kid made the biggest deal about how good this was. I have never seen him go so nuts over something before. So I think it is safe to say he loved it.

He got chips instead of cole slaw.

DD just got a plain hot dog and chips

For dessert, I got carrot cake

I really like the carrot cake they have.

DD and DH got chocolate cake

And DS got a cookie that he never ate.

We had about 3 snack credits left, so DS got a slushie and DD got some popcorn.

We went to the Villains shop and got some vinylmations

DD got a sticker she liked.

And I got some more confetti popcorn that I love so much.

And we used our last snack credit on this rice crispy treat.

And then we sadly made our way out of the park.

We hopped the bus back to Wilderness Lodge ……

And then we headed home.

Boo! I hate the last day. That salad does look good and I can't make my mind up about those Mac and Cheese hotdogs...they look strangely good but a train wreck all at the same time.

How can it be over already? Way too fast if you ask me.

We've never done Fairfax...we were thinking of doing it next year for our Studios day rather than do a sit down since we don't spend a lot of time at the Studios. Would you recommend it?

I know, the trip always goes by too fast. I need to find something constructive to do with my spare time the next two weeks before I go back to work. Sigh. It is hard to concentrate though because I am so uncomfortable.

We really like Fairfax Fare. It has good breakfast options as well. It is pretty basic food, nothing too out of the box, so we liked it. If you like taco salad type thing I do recommend the Fairfax salad. It was really good !!
