The dis name thread made me think

On a photo forum I lurk on, they suggest that everyone puts their first name in their avatar, or signature, just to make forum feel more personal. Most of us use real names with each other most of the time anyway. SO for the people that are just starting to join the asylum, if we did this, it may make them feel more welcome.

Just a suggestion.

I get what you are saying. I think most people like their avatars though more than their real faces

My user name is 77ed and my name is Eddy. Some people call me Ed, Eddy and most people call me other names that I can not say on here. (especially DW - 1goofy1) Unless you want me to list all of them too.

I do that for all the internet forums/sites I post on. I like LarryM which is my first name (that's my god given name and have a sister "Connee" and not "Connie") and last name initial, but here that was taken so I used FN and MI and having family from NW O.K. and spending lots of time there I was always called "Larry Joe".

I also always try and actually sign my posts with my real FN.

I personally almost never look at the stuff under the avatar or in the signature unless it's for rig info or for location, etc. so I just don't see names in those areas.
