Remember, and I don't want to dash your hopes, but this is all very preliminary and unofficial so far. I haven't been able to get in touch with Disney Sports or Pete to confirm any of this. I don't want to overstep my bounds with any of them. Just keep your fingers crossed, and we'll see what happens.

In the interest of optimism, I doubt there's any real reason we can't make this work out. Many of us know of some other podcaster(s) who ran for the DreamTeam/Make a Wish foundation, and I can't imagine how they did it was much more formal than cutting a check to the charity at the end, and setting up a site on firstgiving.

Okay, now that I've said that much, it seems anyone can start fundraising through firstgiving, and GKTW already has a page set up telling you all about it... http://www.firstgiving.com/gktw

And, in fact, it seems you can even setup a specific event... Ok, think I may go ahead and do some of this, though I'll check with Pete and friends first to be sure I'm not stepping on their toes by doing so

I am the guilty party who sent the e-mail to Pete a couple of weeks ago, and I am excited to see that others were of the same mind on raising funds for GKTW. I too have been waiting to hear if something was going to be done and Mouse Skywalker, thanks for your efforts. I would love to be on the team next year. And Pete and the crew, thank you for generating this excitement for such a great organization.

I have talked several of my friends about the run and they may travel to Florida with me. We are planning on staying at either the Treehouse Villas or a Grand Villa at SSR, depending on the number of travelers.

Keep up the fine work and I look forward to running with you all, if the pre-running workouts don't kill me first.

I just wanted to let people that replied to this thread know that we have a survey going to gauge interest for a marathon charity group. I wanted to get an idea of how many people we are talking about for the team.
