so why can't we manage get GKTW into the top 2 for the Pepsi Refresh everything grant money?

I have voted everyday and posted it on my facebook wall every couple of days. I wonder if it might be to late for this month, are they submitted for next month. Could we make a huge push at the begining of July that might get them in the top spot, there is very little movement at the top so a strong start may be just what they need.

I don't use facebook, but I think I have still been voting. It looks like it's been working. Are you supposed to use facebook?

You dont have to use facebook to vote, it is just one of a couple of ways for you to sign in.

I totally agree with you!

I think if EVERYONE on the DIS voted that this would be a landslide. But it seems that many are not aware of GKTW and what they do for kids and their families.

I did call GKTW - to see if they will be in the running next month - and the lady in charge of this bid said that as far as they know it is only during the month of June.

So we have just a few more days to get out the vote. I know we can do it! We are going against some radio stations that are getting the word out and I think fighting against some unawareness of what GKTW does.

But I know we could put them over the top!

Pete actually posted a big sticky on the DIS on June 6, I think. It is still there.

But they said it is only the month of June.

I'm not 100%, but I think it's a one shot deal. I'm not sure they will be able to resubmit to compete again.

My cousin runs a charity called Homes of Hope for Children that won the 250K from Pepsi. It CAN be done.

I think if we everyone asked 5 people to vote every day through the end of the month Give Kids the World could win this.

A great Not for Profit organization I support Give Kids the World is involved in the Pepsi Refresh Everything grant challenge and they need votes!



Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) is a 70-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life- threatening illnesses and their families. GKTW provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation. (I figured they said it better than I could).



Pepsi is giving away $250,000 to the top 2 vote getters on the Refresh Everything website. For Real!

I was proud to vote for my dear cousin's organization Homes of Hope for Children when they were contestants - AND THEY WON!

Am I the only one who thinks that it is a little weird that a weight room in a small town in MI is currently in first place? I have heard about the GKTW vote on several podcasts and websites. Aren't we a big enough community to give them the win?

I can't believe they've slipped to #11. This is so frustrating. As many people as are in the various Disney communities and are tweeting and posting on Facebook and message boards, it really surprises me.

They must have every kid in the school voting every day! It was on the local news as well. I wonder if people mistakenly think that Give Kids the World is owned by Disney so they don't need the money???

Yes, I think it's kinda weird too. I think a couple of the ones ahead of GKTW are a little weird. What is the Horror Film Director one? And the one to make health dvd's for kids?

I've been voting, but I think it's going to be tough to get up from 11th.
