I would definitely check into the Safeway thing a little more. I'm not positive they would upgrade it. I'll see if I can find anything more on it. We didn't have problem with buying ours through Alaska, but you never know. I would think that you should at least take along the Safeway receipt just so you have proof of the purchase price in case there is any question.

I'm pretty sure I've read about people upgrading those. But since you bsically pay the difference in price, you lose the deal of 5 for 3. It's all the same as if you went to the Disney Store or bought online, ya know? Do whatever's easier.

Poor DS7, who wore himself out yesterday in the heat, developed a croupy cough last night. Then he tossed cookies just after 5 a.m., and was burning up. He said he felt better after that, so I cleaned him up and stripped him down while DH cleaned up his pillow. He was exhausted, so we sent him back to bed and hoped for the best.

This morning he's still too hot, and tummy's a little iffy, so I gave him a popsicle. So far, so good. Waiting for the tummy to settle so we can give him something for the fever... :(

Wow, that blast of summer yesterday is being followed up today with overcast skies, temps in the upper 50s, and showers later today. Back to normal...

Sunny day and starting the warm up into the OMG I want to die it's too hot today.

Yesterday wasn't that bad, gusts of wind kept it from feeling overwhelmingly hot. Made for an interesting drive with mini brown out next to an open field.. eek! Not sure if it will be as comfortbale today, I don't see the trees moving too much.. very light wind.

Hubby's typing up a test, Justin playing a game (of course), Noah watching (and sulking because I 'm using the comouter and he wants his game-- his dad told him "too bad"), nephew is sleeping with his face covered (trying to block us out ?) and I have my Mozart Effect playing on I tunes to entice him to wake up . ... which I guess is not working :lmao:

Time to switch it up :thumbsup2

DS7 insisted on sitting in my lap this morning, which is a little unusual for him. He was really hot, and wanted to be under a quilt, OMG!

But I just realized his temp has cooled; still too warm, but just a little bit now. Anbd he said he feels better. :thumbsup2

Might be turning the corner already! :)

Good Morning Ladies!! Hope DS is feeling better Alex! Maybe it was that shocking bit of heat yesterday. We are back to 65 degrees today, then rain coming in tonight. Back in the 50's again all week. So what happened to spring this year? Was yesterday it??

Maybe so... That would seriously suck! :(

Thanks, Sam. He's feeling a bit better... especially now that Daddy said he could play XBox.

I don't really care, as long as it keeps his mind off being sick. And when he plays XBox, the chair I'm in is too far away, so his hot little body (and quilt) is no longer on top of me, WHEW! :rotfl:

We talked to her yesterday, sad we are leaving.. because our kids are well behaved :rolleyes1 and we are good renters. But she totally understood the reasons why.

She said she tries hard to fill the vacants as soon as possible. Having a ground floor apt is a plus on our side, she only has one other ground floor right now. :thumbsup2 Ours faces into the interior -- also a plus, very quiet and less people walking thru.

If anything, if it's left very clean (DUH, we were apts managers before-- we know how to overturn an apt).. she can use our deposit to pay the rent for July.

I set up our moving compnay-- using relocubes this time door to door delivery. Easier (slightly more money) than pack a truck, drive it to the local terminal, unpack it into the trailer.. and do it all over again in reverse on the other end. We did that on the last move, it was HARD work and moving out we had teenagers helping. Not this time (well except for my own).

We will drive out on June 15th, Father's Day. :cheer2: In MN by my birthday on the 17th :goodvibes

Now that's a nice present, seeing my sis and her kidlets again after a year !(that deserves Mr Banana)

Crunch time has begun to clear out, cleanup , toss or keep. And find boxes.. argh!
I think we will get them thru Craigslist.

Here's the fun timeline...

June 5-8 inlaws visit
June 13th- last day of school
June 14th - finish packing cube, clean apt, dialysis in evening.
June 15th- head out on the road!
June 16th/17th? Arrival
End of June until July-- bug my sister
July 1st- new apt
??
(we will have storage fees for our "cubes")

Hopefully we can move into an apt BEFORE the 1st of July. Wish us luck!!:goodvibes

woohoo, apt manager is working with us to move out early!

So is that good or bad news? Are you guys that obnoxious as tenants that he will do anything to get rid of you early?? J/K!!!!;)

Maybe so... That would seriously suck! :(

Amazing how little boys lives can revolve around video games. So what did parents bribe them with before video games were invented??:confused3

My boss got the kids an Xbox a few years ago, plus a bunch of games. Some of the games were not very family friendly games. There is one, I think it's called Rising Sun or something like that. It's a WWII simulation type of game. Well I watched DS play it and especially with all of our Japanese visitors I didn't think it was something that was appropriate for our household. So I secretly took the game out of the stack and threw it up in a junk box in the top of our closet. Well the other day I had that box down looking for something and DS spots that game--"HEY, I've been looking for that game"! I lied and told him that the game didn't work right and that I really needed to throw it away. I think I should either throw it away or take it down and trade for something else.

Sweet!

And does this timeline mean you will be able to see the part of the family that is visiting? That was at the end of June to early July, right? :thumbsup2

Exciting!!! As I told Lynn the other day....There's no place like home....there's no place like home....there's no place like home!

So can you get a couple of Cubes to put the boys in for a month or so?? Throw in a bunch of video games, a large supply of food and voila, a cheap summer entertainment program that keeps them occupied and out of your hair for at least a month. By the time the people at the cube storage notice the stench coming from the cubes it will be time for your new apartment.:rotfl:

I'm really trying hard to take it easy today. Who knew I had such a hard time sitting still?? I figure if I stay busy on the computer today that will force me to just sit in the recliner most of the day. I've got a million things I need to do around the house and I can't do them!!!!!

Definitely take the game to someplace like Game Stop; you can sell it and get credit toward another game that is family friendly! :thumbsup2

If the WWII game is really violent and gory, I'm sure somebody will snap it up. :sad2:

DS7 has been playing an NBA (basketball) game this whole time. He talks to me like he personally knows all the players and says things like, "You know who the most awesomest player ever to play the game was?" I say, "Ummm, Michael Jordan?" and he says, "Who's Michael Jordan? No, I'm talking about [some no-name player]!" DH about :faint: that his OWN SON did not know who Michael Jordan was. :rotfl2:

I wish I had your energy! I have a zillion things to do, too, and I just don't WANT to do any of them. :rotfl:

DS7 is clearly feeling better, I just finished off my coffee, so I'm running out of excuses... ;)

Those are the times when you start feeling really old. When the kids have no idea who or what you are talking about.:rotfl:

Yeah, I have a few games that I need to take and trade. My boss is always buying the kids video games from the Hollywood Video. He owns a shopping center in Pasco and they are one of the renters. But he is not very good at picking out family friendly games. When he got the kids Nintendo DS & PSP's I took almost every game back and traded them for better ones. He actually got one that was like Girls Gone Wild Volleyball!:scared1: I think the guy at the store just throws a bunch in a bag and that's what we get.
