Limit foods high in potassium such as bananas, tomatoes, potatoes, low-salt milk, and salt substitutes.

 That blows!! I eat some of that stuff almost daily!! I sure am glad I am doing a little research on this!

That sucks! :guilty:

Visit any participating U.S. Starbucks store on Tuesday, April 8 at 9 a.m. Pacific Time (12 p.m. Eastern Time) and Starbucks will give all customers a complimentary short (8 oz.) cup of the new Pike Place Roast™ to enjoy as they participate in a simultaneous, nationwide, coast-to-coast, coffee tasting conducted by Starbucks coffee experts.

beat me to it.. hmm, I swore it said noon for pacific and 9 for eastern in my email?? oh well... but ya got it.

It's suppose to be a smoother tasting coffee that they roast for themselves.. apparently it's part of the re -image that they are doing .. focusing too much on espresso to the point that customers complain the regular cofee is burnt tasting/bitter.

Did I scare you all off? :flower3: I wuv you... :)

I wuv you two man!!

The drip coffee is pretty bitter. Dh likes it, though. I'll have to leave him a note to head to Starbucks at 9 for a freebie! :thumbsup2

OMG. You guys, I am so dumb. Reading through all this, it says that this drug blocks "androgens" I had NO idea that Androgens is testosterone. :sad2: NOW it is starting to make MUCH more sense. This is weird... It might mess up my cycle, and that seems counter productive. (to the greater goal of baby making)

hmmmm, must work differently than other diuretics. some suck up the potassium and you need to eat more of those foods to counteract.

It says that it is a potassium sparing diuretic. But I wouldnt think that it would INCREASE potassium.

But if you have too much testosterone, I would think that can mess up your cycle or conception or whatever. Conception requires a very fine dance of various hormone levels raising and lowering at precise intervals and amounts. Any part of it out of whack slightly can throw the whole thing out the window. So if you have too much testosterone, that can throw it off; if they balance it somehow, maybe that will make it RIGHT, you know?

Good question to ask...

that's not all that it messes up
Side effects for both spironolactone and cyproterone acetate can include breast tenderness, decreased libido (sex drive), fatigue, headaches, depression, weight gain and irregular periods.

You are so smart Alex. I hadnt thought of that. I think I need to make a list of things to talk to the doc about when I go back.
