Congrats Anne!

Fantastic for you and your family. Best wishes to the happy couple:bride: :groom:

Hi Anne! Congrats on the addition to your family (well, almost addition) How fun to get engaged in Europe!!!

Beano - you told me it was your grandpa who gave you that moniker.

and guess what, Annie - Ben's NOT his name! (he's in the witness relocation program and his real statistics cannot be revealed.:rotfl2: )

TZM- Chris says he faces that all the time when he interviews new programmers. New to the field or fresh out of school and they expect top dollar.

This whole foreclosure thing is really sad. Some people of course got in way over their heads. So, that is their own fault. But in many cases, people lose their jobs and there aren't a whole lot of high paying jobs out there to replace them. People used to try to move but with houses not selling how far are you supposed to drive to your new job everyday? 200 miles. It is getting crazy here in S. Florida.

It is bad here too. Stockton, CA is now the worst market in the nation for foreclosures. That is 20 minutes north of here. Home prices are way, way down. That means (among other things) we will not be moving closer to RJ and Beano anytime soon.

BTW Hi TZM!! Long time. Where you been?

Ok ladies, a little help:

We have a wedding to go to at the end of October...it's a 5pm wedding

sooooooooooooo....what would you wear???

hhmmm 5 pm.....

Darker colors would be ok I am thinking. But not black. If dinner is buffet something more casual than if dinner is sit down.

So a nice catsuit from the 70's or perhaps satin pants. Oh wait that was the answer to a different question. Sorry. I got distracted.

Um..wedding.. nice slacks, skirt or dress. Maybe in a fall-ish hue?

Sorry not the fashionista.

But knowing you you will look fabulous!!

I always thought so, but I brought that up with my dad/brother the other day, and they said no, it wasn't him - he called me "Beenie". I was pretty young so I just didn't remember it correctly. Anyway, they said my bro-in-law Dan was the first one they remembered hearing it from... :confused3

But now, all y'all call me that!

... Beenie, huh? well, I have referred to you as BeenieBoy for a while... This just has to be good for sumthin' <mua haha>

HELP!
Rick and Nick are playing XBOX 360 and Halo 3 online with 2 other friends..I think I will be alone tonight!

Oh bets so sorry. I know the XBox 360 widow problem. Wish I could be there we could go out for a Girls Night.

I suggest inviting TZM over to play and then going out with Ophie!:thumbsup2

BRILLIANT!!

What do you know about the place? Have you been there before? Is it inside or outside? What's your weather like out there at that time of year? I tend to wear pant suits anywhere I can....but I have a casual dress job so my dressy clothes are in very limited supply... My oldest nephew is getting married next Saturday at 2 pm (:scared1: He was our ring bearer at OUR wedding!) and I am going to wear a beige-ish colored pant suit with a multi-colored top I think...but I'm also fairly certain that it will be more toward the casual side as they have no money to spend on it and they planned it in like 4 months time - AND it's in WV! :rotfl2: Hummmm...maybe I'm not the best one to ask... You still need Ophie, Cheri, CamColt & Betsy to weigh in on what they would do!:goodvibes

For RJ, it's the Playstation widow problem. Bob and I have been known to stage Resident Evil 4 marathons from time to time. :thumbsup2

or God of War...

or Ratchet and Clank...

or ... ;)

:scared1: Wake up ya'll - we just hit page 2!!

DH & DS just left to go sell popcorn with the scouts at the Safeway...(I was so nice to sign the 2 of them up for an hour the other nite!:rotfl2: ) But that works 'cuz they put us down for bring smores stuff tonite so we needed some marshmallows etc. so now they can get their supplies too!

I am doing:laundy: and rounding up their camping gear for this evening...It's a cool, breezy 59 out there right now....supposed to hit mid-seventies I think - but then lower 50's tonite...we'll call that "good sleeping weather" tonite won't we (as they huddle together and toss & turn on their air mattress!):rotfl2: Am I in an evil mood or WHAT?! :rotfl: I'm liking this idea of putting them out of the house too much aren't I?!

Oh thanks. :) Glad that's working out for you! :teeth:

Okay so... sorry I've missed so much this week. I was @ work til 10 one night, 9 another night... they were all bad. Set-up was yesterday, Heart Walk was today. In 2 days for the group we have... 2 missed alarm clocks, 1 missing rental truck, 1 vandalized rental truck :scared1: (stupid hooligans), wrong equipment from the tent company, jury-rigged banners that are the centerpiece of the whole thing, sunburns, MIA vendors (yes, that was plural)... and after all that, 1 long-time volunteer said it was the most fun she's had volunteering at the Heart Walk before. So... it came off okay. Or... at least the chaos wasn't completely obvious to everyone else. So... how far away is this cruise we so desperately need??? :confused3

We only collected enough today to get us up to $205K for the event (the goal is $300K)... but we're expecting that a lot of people didn't want to turn in money today since it's such a busy, hectic day. So... hopefully... there's $100K out there waiting to be picked up in the next 2 weeks. Kinda doubt it though.

Btw... thanks to Beeknock & Phyllis for helping out towards the goal! (Anyone who wants to help too is welcome to PM me.) :teeth:

:thumbsup2 Congrats on making it through the Heart Walk from heck Ophie!

Maybe you'll be able to slow down a bit now ;)

does Ophie have a "thing" for deli chickens?:confused3
ophie despises all food that has to be eaten from the bone... where's that d@^^ "vomit" smiley

Oh...

See... now I have a philosophical question... If it's a "bad" emoticon, can you really call it a "smiley?"

(Oh and speaking of cats - bead update - so far, so good - the cats have been paws off - but I've caught DS playing in them!)
Glad the cats have taken well to the exorcism...

We did this last October ('cept @ the beginning of the month) and I wore b&w. I think I was too dressed up though... That probably doesn't help you. You look fantabulous in browns... Why doncha just go all fall-y? autumn-y? See... springy works... summery works... wintery even works!! What the heck is up with fall??? :sad2:
