I wish I looked like Ariel!

The Little Mermaid is my all time favorite Disney movie! It was released the year Beano and I got married! And she is the ONLY redheaded princess ever!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE!!!
Have some pirate: and do a little :dance3: (but try to stay off of the tables )

Can you try the Mastercard commercial...you know, 1 package size 3 diapers $25, 1 case of Gerbers strained peas $23.50....special 1 year old birthday cruise with friends...priceless?!?! :rotfl:

Hey I would try just about anything!!

I am thinking of just booking it and dealing with the fall out later. Can't decide if I am that brave,:confused3 :rotfl:

Hey RJ - At dinner Neil says we may be at the ranch by years end. I wonder how his day at work went.:lmao:

Guess the house building project has just been moved up!:headache:

OK - going to watch The NeverEnding Story with DDpopcorn:: I might make it through the previews:rotfl: Did I mention I have not been sleeping at night?

How about Brenna Lynn? But if you say it really fast sounds like one word.:confused3 Baby McDougald sounds good to me. Baby Girl McDougald.
Brenna Ann
Michael Lynn
Monique Emma - DD pick
Emma Quinn - sounds like Levaquin:lmao:
Oh I don't know.

RJ - Ryan says hello  and she wants to meet you and Kimmy for lunch. Guess we gotta arrange that eh?

OK off to the movies. Have a good evening everyone.

Why yes, yes we should. Meeting fer lunch :thumbsup2

Living at ranch by the years end....good luck gettin' a home builder to go that fast (they all seem to live in their own time zones):lmao:

my vote is still for Brenna :)

Morning!

I think we are just staying home...our Village puts on a fireworks show about a mile from our house at the Amphitheater..so we usually go up to my bedroom and watch in the dark...no mosquitos, cool and dry...NICE! lol

WHOA! Found us 1/2 down on page 2!!!!!! Here's a quickie (bump) :lmao:

Happy Fourth of July!

OK, so what's everybody doing today? We're just goin' down the street to a neighbors house for a dog & burger cookout around 4:30 then everyone will go to one of the local fireworks. Fireworks are illegal here so we couldn't even get sparklers for the kids. DH drove to VA yesterday thinking he could find some but didn't run into any stands....so the kids just get glow necklaces:rotfl:

So, I stopped at Walmart yesterday & bought some more camping stuff before all the seasonal stuff sells out!:rotfl2: ('Cuz you know they'll start putting up Xmas trees next week now that it's July 4!) :rotfl: I'm such a mess! They only had 1 pack of (4) "good" tent stakes. And I wanted to get a battery powered fan. Well, so I couldn't decide WHICH one (not only am I anal I have a problem making decisions) - they had 4 to choose from. So I bought 3 of them so I could put batteries in them & try them out at home then do the return thing!! One is larger which is probably good, but it takes 8 'D' batteries! YIKES! The other 2 are much smaller - one is a Coleman that attaches to the roof with a magnet or something - and was the most expensive...but only uses 4 'D' batteries. The other one is a little bitty thing...but less than $10!! Then I bought a cookstove & a battery powered lantern (YIKES! 8 more 'D' batteries)! (I remembered those fuel lanterns with the mantels being a pain...)

DH is is giving me grief now over buying stuff to use once! I know it will drive me nuts to smell everyone elses breakfast cooking tho so that's why I bought the stove! But if we just eat donuts then we won't have dishes....now I'll have to get a dishpan & take a pot to heat water too!:rotfl: One thing always leads to another doesn't it?!

ANYWAY, so now with DH giving me grief over buying stuff to use once, I'm thinking  OK, we could go camping at the BEACH! :beach: Then he can't complain that we only used the stuff once, right?! So I called the DE state parks (they have one ON the beach near Rehobeth and another one up at Cape Henlopen). (I stayed at the one on the beach WAY back when I was in college & took a summer water color class at the beach). Anyway, I was thinking we could do a trial run before our rafting trip NEXT weekend but they're all booked up of course. They DO however have a few openings for Labor Day weekend. No sites with hookups left tho....the problem with Labor Day is the traffic. It's about 145 miles from here I think & takes about 3 hrs w/o traffic. But on a holiday weekend the travel time can easily double here!!:scared1: There is another campground (private) in the Rehobeth area that has openings for next weekend but it's 2 1/2 miles from the beach - so you have to either take a bus (runs on the hour) or drive & pay metered parking BUT it also has a pool and water & electricity....Hummm....I have not run this idea past DH yet:lmao: What do u think? Which would you do? Am I INSANE?! I must be huh?!

I don't think we'll even see fireworks tonight. Hard to beat Disney!

So, I stopped at Walmart yesterday & bought some more camping stuff before all the seasonal stuff sells out!:rotfl2: ('Cuz you know they'll start putting up Xmas trees next week now that it's July 4!) :rotfl: Yeah, Hallmark is having an Ornament Preview Weekend, I think it's next weekend. School clothes are already in the stores. It's kinda hard to get Cassie excited about trying on long pants and long sleeved shirts when it's 80 degrees outside I'm such a mess! They only had 1 pack of (4) "good" tent stakes. And I wanted to get a battery powered fan. Now, I'm far from a camping expert, but who goes camping with a fan? Well, so I couldn't decide WHICH one (not only am I anal I have a problem making decisions) - they had 4 to choose from. So I bought 3 of them so I could put batteries in them & try them out at home then do the return thing!! One is larger which is probably good, but it takes 8 'D' batteries! YIKES! The other 2 are much smaller - one is a Coleman that attaches to the roof with a magnet or something - and was the most expensive...but only uses 4 'D' batteries.I'm just gonna leave the whole battery thing alone. 'Cuz that's just the kind of nice girl I am (be quiet Betsy) The other one is a little bitty thing...but less than $10!!

But if we just eat donuts then we won't have dishes.and Jared will sing the "MY Mom is Great!" song all weekend....now I'll have to get a dishpan & take a pot to heat water too!:rotfl: One thing always leads to another doesn't it?! don't forget the wine

Anyway, I was thinking we could do a trial run before our rafting trip NEXT weekend but they're all booked up of course. They DO however have a few openings for Labor Day weekend. That's amazing. Our state beaches and parks are filled the day reservations are opened - 365 days ahead. Phone lines are busy for hours. No sites with hookups left tho....the problem with Labor Day is the traffic. It's about 145 miles from here I think & takes about 3 hrs w/o traffic. We can blow a weekend in the backyard bbq'ing and in the pool (yup, spoiled, we are - and very thankful!)

HAPPY FOURTH TO ALL! be safe!

I think I need one o' dem countdown tickers. Where do the best ones come from?

:surfweb: Good Morning!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

It is supposed to be around 110 degrees here today :scared:

Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th yesterday :goodvibes

Annie - you make me laugh! Yes, run it by the DH - camping at the beach is fun. Don't forget the makings for smores!

RJ - hit the pool! It's gonna be another scorcher!

:yay: Hi Cheri!

Ophie - love the fireworks. Makes me wanna go to Disneyland!

Heading over to friends house to work on DCL scrapbook!! Gonna be looking at all y'alls mugs all day!! :woohoo: Yes, my scrapbooks are a bit behind.:sad2: Gotta find that big stack o shutters pictues. They are buried in this office somewhere! Off to find them. If you don't hear from me by tomorrow send search and resue!!:lmao:

Hi, Hi, Hi!!!

So, it sprinkled on & off here yesterday afternoon / evening...got maybe about 1/2" of rain in like 15 min. increments over the course of like 6 hours. So the weather for the cookouts & fireworks could've been better....But so OH WELL.

I did my battery testing experiment on the fans & made my selection and then returned the rejects (Cheri - I don't know who else camps with a fan besides me, but they had 4 diff. ones to pick from in the camping aisle at Walmart - so I guess SOMEBODY! But thanks for leaving the batteries out of your post!:lmao: ) Actually, we get our share of 90 degree plus days here in July & August & we typically have a LOT of humidity with them - so it would be a little bit like camping in FL if you can picture that...and THAT'S why I wanted a fan! I am going to watch the extended outlook for NEXT weekend & if it looks good just might go for the one campground place next weekend (the one that's 2 1/2 mi. back from the beach). We'll see....I ain't goin' in the rain!:goodvibes

The beach areas here in MD & DE are not geared so much for camping - the demographics are that DE has a few motels but LOTS & LOTS of really nice private communities with those humongeous 8-10 bedroom beach houses built up on stilts and they rent for THOUSANDS of dollars / week - usually several families will go in together & rent them. Then on the other end of the spectrum is Ocean City. It's a very commercialized area with lots of traffic & noise & high rise condominiums. I'm talking about like 120 blocks of it! It's a big wide beach but VERY busy. There's some houses & townhomes on the bay side - but I think those are not rented out as much - I think a lot of those are summer houses owned by people in this area who just go down for the weekend. Since the supply of campgrounds is limited I was surprised to find that the DE parks had openings for Labor Day too...I am wondering if we should snag it for now while we chew it over - only loose $10 dep. if we cancel before 30 days. The traffic on Labor Day is a HUGE thing tho. I have gone down on holiday weekends in the past and have literally sat for 5 hours trying to get across the bay bridge. But it's the last hurrah for the summer and the campground is only 400 yards off the ocean...

OK, so tomorrow is going to be our Kings Dominion day. Figured as far as AM Rush Hour traffic around the Beltway this would be the best week to go. The forecast I think is for it to be around 90 degrees and just a chance of showers...so it should be a good day to go. The waterpark area should feel good anyway!

So, what's everyone doing for this weekend?

I have to go shopping for a dress..My boss is having a big party at the Orchid Society for his wife's 60th..I thought I could wear the dress from the wedding, but it turns out the party is more casual..so maybe a white skirt to go with my emerald top...:confused3

since we already bbq'd this week, and it is suppose to rain, I am going to make my lemon chicken...
