Sean - cool - do you know if that is something at the raceway? Or where exactly is that or what it is?:confused3

Laundry Laundry and more laundry. I thought Cheri's gremlins were coming over while she was in Oregon, to put my laundry away, but they never made it. Go figure. So I guess I will start there.:laundy:

Then friends from Sweden will be in town tonight - we are all going to Portland for a wedding next weekend. So it will be good to see them. I should bring them to Kingsburg! But instead I will be cleaning up the house.:headache:

Office meeting at 11 am - that should be fun. First one with babe-ster. She will likely scream the whole time. But its a workers comp discussion so I just might scream too.

Then, I think, Rubio's for lunch!:thumbsup2

Then I just might be ready for a nap!

Anybody else? What chu doin' this weekend?

Well, since I already have my "travel size" bottles that will fit into the big ziplock bags I'll stick with this plan for now I guess. I'll make a mental note to check out the store at OKW whenever we go to buy DH's beer so I'll know for next time what else they may sell... I can drink beer (Corona Light or Rolling Rock) but prefer wine or the hard stuff!:lmao: (surprise!)

Cute video RJ - "because I said so" and "I'm the Mom" both sound pretty familiar to me for some reason....;)

OKW has a great variety of hard stuff. There is no need to pack your own. They have Captain, Jack, Jose, etc. Unless you have extremely specific taste, they have a lots to choose from. They have travel sizes and 175mL sizes I believe. Wait till you see what's behind the counter....:)

Thanks Tarzanman - good to know! I already bubble wrapped & ziplocked the stuff...first things first ya know!?:rotfl:

Anyway - new poll - need more advice (girl stuff)! I've got 2 stacks of clothes out that are about 18" high - 1 pile for me & 1 for DH. Going thru it now to see what can be eliminated & what needs to be ironed. OK, so we're going for 8 days (7 n). Staying in a studio - not going to do any laundry. So I want to pack a minimum of 2 outfits / day (can re-wear some shorts) but so at least like 15 tops / shirts for ea. of us, right? I mean we'll have the hot & sweaty park thing during the day. Pool time in the afternoon...shower / change into something clean & go back out for the evening. I currently have about 21 tops in my pile alone (a couple nicer ones for dinner, several strappy hot 92 degree weather type park tops & a few with short sleeves just in case I decide I want a little sleeve for the evenings). Is that totally way too many to take in order to have a little selection?! Shorts...I will probably take 10-12 pairs - mostly for the parks, but also a couple nicer ones & oh, and like 1 pair of capri's. But do you guys only pack enough for ea. day & no more / no less?! You know me & this decsion thing...and I always OVERPACK by at least one suitcase full...:lmao: But I'm trying really hard to cut back!! Just thought I'd get some more opinions...:goodvibes (Just WAIT for the cruise packing!!:rotfl2: )

Annie:

On this last trip, I packed less since I was able to do laundry in our room. But I would go with 2 changes of clothing per day. That's just me ;)

I like to have a shirt for each day but I usually wear the same pair of shorts 2 to 3 times so I don't need so many of those.

I agree 2 outfits per day...but with the weight limits on luggage and all I would plan to do a load of lights and darks somewhere in the middle of the trip.

I used to swear by "I am NOT doing laundry on vacation", but then I found out it's not too bad. I throw in a load a or 2, hit the pool and get a drink, finish the drink, go switch the clothes, get another drink sit by the pool, and its done. On this last trip I got DH to help a lot with my leg being sore. ;)

:rotfl2: I am famous for getting the "HEAVY" tags & stickers put on our luggage!! In fact, I just cut some off last nite that were left over from last years trip to Hawaii!! :rotfl2: I also always pack at LEAST one, sometimes TWO extra empty duffle bags inside our luggage for the return trip! Sometimes I use them for the stuff that we've bought while on vacation & sometimes we use them as hampers 'cuz nothing ever goes back in the way it came out!! :lmao: I find the bigger airlines like Delta aren't always so strict with the weight - esp. at curbside check-ins - but smaller ones like Hawaiian Air weigh you to the pound! Our first island hop last summer from Oahu to the Big Island I had to re-pack 2 of our larger bags into one of the duffles AT THE CHECK-IN desk in front of the whole WORLD!! :scared1: Very embarrasing. Then I had to do the same thing with our 2 carry-ons in the security line! Which is really stupid - they had a 26Lb limit - one of our carry-ons weighs 1/2 that empty so it was over by like 10 lbs! The other carry-on was just a little duffle bag & I had it packed with our cameras, snacks & those little neckroll pillow things which weigh like NOTHING. I mean it literally only weighed 10 lbs. But they made me shift everything from one to the other IN THE LINE WHILE HOLDING EVERYBODY ELSE UP so that neither went over the 26 lbs. But how stupid 'cuz it's the same stuff & it all weighs the same - it was just distributed differently. :sad2: The next time we switched islands from the Big Island to Maui we managed to find a large scale before the check-in & were able to weigh before we got in line! But then the last flight home there was just no way around having to pay extra for one bag. I couldn't get the weight distributed evenly enough. Oh well. Most of my little summer strappy tops once folded take up about 6" of space...I will take a couple more out, but will probably take at least 18 to allow for a little selection!

BTW CamColt, how IS your leg by now?! All healed?

Oh, BTW, do any of you happen to know what the depth is under the beds on the Magic and Wonder? Just curious what I might be able to store under there?!?!?:confused3

If I remember correctly, there is no under the bed. I seem to think it was a solid edge to the floor.

Anyone else??...I could be wrong. :confused3

Oh how funny, Annie! That carry on situation is crazy. I feel your pain about moving stuff around. I had to fly to LAX by myself a couple years ago. I was terrified from all I had heard about big crazy scary LAX. I did ok upon arrrival then I was leaving...checking in at night, and exhuasted. My suit case was over the limit so they said I could move things. There I am sweating bullets, unpacking and repacking at the check in desk. In the mean time some lady from France read my lisence and started calling me by name giving me her card and wanting to get me into her herbalife products... ALL WHILE IM ON THE FLOOR REPACKING. I was as nice as I could be telling her I am NOT interested!!! Leave me alone!!!

Thanks for checking on me, Annie. ;) I still have a bruise on the leg which is just a bruise but there is somethign funky going on with my knee. I still have a big bump on it and its stiff/a little sore to bend unbend. I am running on it now, which I dont know if I should be, but I might get it checked out soon if it doesnt stop. It will be 4 weeks on Tuesday so I'm thinking its been long enough (at least for me, LOL).

Im pretty sure average sized suitcases fit under the beds.

Mebbe not in your super-chic suite... ;) But in the real world of DIScruisin, we put empty bags under the bed last time.

Hey, I totally said I could be wrong....

it's been known to happen quite often, just ask Beano :lmao: :rotfl2:
