Hey everyone,

We just booked a 7-night EC cruise on the Magic departing 9/26/09. Only 351 days to go! :cool1:

Just had to share the news with people who would understand my excitement...........

Well gents I might, just might, be able to add a ticker onto my signature!!!

DW has just given the nod of approval to a "possible" trip to DL in December with our little guy! He'll only be 4.5 months old by then but I think it will be so nice for us to escape for a little while. Things have been pretty crazy since he was born and I think it'd be so neat for him to spend his first Christmas (well...almost) at one of the world's happiest places. This trip will DEFINATELY be a different type of trip than our last two to WDW but I think it will be so much fun!

Have any of you dads taken a baby on a vacation like this before?

We took DD2 to WDW when she was 5 months. It was awesome and much easier than I had thought that it would be. Watching her on IASW was something that I'll never forget! :yay:

Where do I sign-up....

My dog is named Epcot, I have a Mickey lamp on my desk, I've actually had Disney cookies shipped to me and I'm seriously considering a Mickey Mouse tattoo...I feel like I'm home.

Starting to go into pre-trip frenzy mode....just getting psyched for our trip next week.

Welcome! :)

That's so cool! We still haven't gone on a cruise yet - but someday we will. I'd like to, but DW is still apprehensive. We had the opportunity to book one this year, but she changed her mind... now the kids are working on her too, so maybe we'll get it done sooner rather than later. :rolleyes1

Hello fellow DDCs -

Ahhhh, the weather is changing, so are the trees, the deer are starting to move.......... I am like a warrior reading for battle. My preparation time is now down to 2 weeks before departure, traveling 2 full days to battle from above the Mason Dixon line to Main Street.

The camper has been maintenanced with new tires and hubs greased. The hitch has been adjusted and I bought a new polishers and gave the little cub, an all over facial of deep rubbing compound and nice coat with fiberglass wax, along with a roof cleaning. She’s as smooth as a babies butt and looking good…… Other camper modifications include some rearranged duct work, a pending new faucet and key/wallet/cell phone storage solution(AKA loss prevention basket)

I bought tickets last week, made a few extra purchases at walmart and ebay to help offset some of the sticker shock while at WDW. I bought 15 trading pins online for $25 delivered. Cheap fun for the kids, plus I was able to acquire a few pins myself…..

Further preparations includes testing Halloween lights for the camper and preparing the tow vehicle with fuel injector cleaner, 5-30 full synthetic oil and a window clean….. Still need to research car games for the trip down.

I am still searching for new Disney Codes, which if you have any let me know. Checking gas prices, and reviewing my updated spreadsheet, which I have had since my last trip 3 years ago and have expanded to two pages (#s and color code day by day schedule with extra magic hours, special events…….)

Oh Yah, I forgot to mention the daily surfing the world’s greatest Disney forum in the Kingdom… Disboards.com

Guys, I have the fever and it is in full force………. By this time in two weeks, we’ll be in southern IL, or KY, well on our way to Main Street USA.

Thank-you Walt for creating the most magical place on earth, for our kids, our wives, the other fathers and then us Disboard Dads.

I want in!!!!! I just joined the DIS boards and am happy to find some Disney Dad's who are as nuts as I am. Just got back a month ago from 5 day's at WDW. Booked my bounce back for next August with free dining. Now I've got to get through a long NY winter :sad2: thinking about the World:yay: . I guess reading trip reports and looking at photos will have to do for the time being.

I hear ya!!! We're now at 12 days out - but we are flying, not driving - but we'll be there on Main Street in almost no time now! Can't wait!!!!

WELCOME to the club!!!

Thanks for the kind welcome. Our trip (8/29-9/2) was great although we had to keep an eye on the weather with a couple of hurricanes threatening, but fortunately they steered clear of WDW. I did not know what kind of crowds to expect being that it was Labor Day weekend but they were very manageable. DW & DS14 were psyched as was I. With ADR's for each night we had no problem getting seated. It was our first time at Teppan Edo since the rehab, it was very nicely done. We dined also at Tony's Town square for the first time. DW & DS raved about the steak, I had the pork loin which was great. We had never eaten there before and I do recommend it. As far as the parks, Toy Story Mania is a blast!! Get there early & then get yourself a fastpass to ride again, it was mobbed. On the plus side it certainly eased the crowds at ToT and RnR coaster. Great trip, I'm glad we saw the singing group before Beauty & the Beast as I understand they're not going to be performing anymore, too bad because they're a blast. Any way, not much of a trip report, I just wanted to say hello and share a few memories. When I figure out how to share some photos, I will.

This is great info. I have never eaten at Tony's Town Square so I'll have to try that the next trip. :thumbsup2
