Hi, can a Disney Grandpa join. I feel the magic. We went this last Jan. and I talk DW into going again this Dec. She is almost as excited as I am.:cool1:

hay padisfam2 i forgot to ask, i see you added foot pegs, what are they made out of?

Took some Lightening MacQueen flip flops and attached them to the foot rest. Just a little reminder of where their feet should be.

Just stumbled on the thread and figured I should sign up. Took the family to Disney World 4 times last year. Just got back from AKL 4 weeks ago, I'm surprising my youngest with a long weekend trip on his birthday in October and celebrating an early Christmas at Disney World in December. I have to get full use out of that AP...

You went to WDW 4 time this year:thumbsup2
I am so jealous.
Welcome to the Club:cool1:

What sort of power source are you using and how do you have it hooked up?

wow!! looks great! maybe disney will hire you as a float designer! you got to get some pics of that thing rolling down main street. do they blink? and now you got to add sound! ok maybe not sound it will cost you $100 to ship it but that looks cool!:thumbsup2

This set of lights don't blink or chase. With my current battery pack it would use too many watts. The lights in the pics are LED rope lights with 2" spacing between each light. At full power they use 7 watts. Which gives me about 1-1/2 hours per charge. I added a dimmer switch and if I dim them to about half power, it extends the battery life to about 3 hours.

It's called a Black & Decker Power on the go. It's a self contained battery pack that allows you to plug in a low wattage electrical device. For example you can charge your cell phone very easily with this battery. It works with both AC and USB.

That has got to be the coolest thing I have ever seen on a stroller, not too mention. Ultra safe to walk at night with. :) I was wondering how are you planning to get the stroller to WDW?

It folds up just like any other stroller and since we have a lay over in Atl we will gate check it before we board the plane. I will however pack the lights and battery pack in a suitcase and check that with the rest of our luggage.

So the lights are connected to the stroller temporarily? How did you connect them to the stroller? I appreciate any info. I am going to WDW in Oct for my DD first Bday, and I would like to duplicate your design.

Thanks, it took a little time to work out the power issue, but it's working great now.

That Stroller is out of this world:worship: :worship: :worship:
Awesome:thumbsup2

I did not think about doing this to our stroller:goodvibes We bought our DD the electric Princess car (only paid $70, almost new) and I rigged it up with pink rope lights. I think I will do something like this with our stroller:cool1:

The lights that I bought came with clips that connect to the rope lights, then I used zip ties to connect the clips to the stroller. You could just use zip ties and no clips, but since I had the clips I set it up with them. I bought both the lights and the power pack on Amazon.com. Just make sure you have enough power for the lights.

We will be there for Halloween, it should be fun:banana:

The colored rope lights are very cool. I found one set with 3 or 4 different colors. They were just a little too short so I went with the blue.

Thanks for the Info. I was going to go to Lowes. Amazon should be much less expensive. I found two "power to go" models. One is the 100w, and the other is 20w. Is it safe to presume that your rig is utilizing the 100w model?

I went with the 20w and had a power problem at first. My first set of lights came from Lowes, the lights were running about 36w and that was with a 12' long rope. When I plugged it in, it tripped the internal breaker of the power unit. That's when I started looking at LED lights. They are more expensive but they are worth it. I now have an 18' LED rope with 108 lights in the rope and they uses just under 7w. In addition the lights last longer and they are cool to the touch, so if you are there on a hot summer night it won't get too warm in the stroller. The lights I bought cost $30 plus $6 for shipping, The 20w unit is running about $20 plus shipping. If you upgrade to the 100w your looking at about $44 plus freight. To be honest I wish I went with the 100w. It's worth the extra money. Let me know how it turns out.

Thanks this is really helpful. DW is starting to get into the swing of it as well. She suggested putting some mickey's on it. Looks like the 100W should give me more time to "shine", also the 100w has a higer Amp output. Should be able to use running lights.
Input - 9.6 VDC, 15A for the 100w, and Input - 8.4 VDC, 5.0A for the 20w I belive that you indicated that the running lights drew too many amps. Looks like I'll have 15amps instead of 5 :thumbsup2
Here is the stroller I am going to start with.

Do you think that I'll be able to use one strand of light rope? Thanks again.
