I guess I have been in the dark when it comes to the DVC. I just really found out about it on my most recent trip (last week). I didn't go on the tour because I couldn't convince DW that we had the time to fit it in our schedule, but I was wondering if the DVC members here could enlighten me on the GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY on the DVC?

What happened to the spurs last night? I am hoping that it is a Spurs/Pistons final again. The NBA wants Kobe, KG, Chris Paul, or Labron in the finals they don't care that the Pistons and Spurs are the two best teams. So go Pistons go Spurs and choke on it Stern! Oh and of course the Pistons will win!

And by the way Minnie kissed me twice! Right in front of my wife.

First time I saw this thread, and I love it. I was reading the list at the beginning of the thread and was actually getting a bit scared, have I gone too far? NO, not possible with Disney.

My DW was sitting next to me and wondering what I was snickering about, and when I showed her she just shook her head in that "OH more Disney" way.

So I am officially requesting membership in the Dad's Club

I agree w/ you that the Spurs and Pistons are the best. Of course, the Spurs will win their first back to back championship this year. I love how we fly under the radar and everyone wonders at the end of the year how we did it. Thanks Suns for validating how good we really are.... you gotta love Pop's version of Hack-A-Shaq! GENIOUS!

I'll give my version of the story. Like you, we avoided the tour the first three times we went. DW had been exploring DVC with a co-worker who is a DVC'er. During our Feb trip we decided to do the tour. She had more than enough info to be well informed and in fact our guide was most impressed. After eating all of the ice cream we continued to talk more and more about it. She then had her co-worker get me the info on where to go for resales. And that's when I learned about the DISboards, too!

We have been to WDW the last four years and did a DCL trip in '03. Now we are completely and hopelessly hooked. A large factor in our decision is we are a large family of five...DW and I are both 6'+ and the mice are growing like weeds. We need the additional space. We've stayed at POR the last two years and DS7 is quickly growing out of the trundle bed. So do we go up to a deluxe or get two rooms at a mod or value.

Well DW is not a value kid of girl except for being prudent with the $$$. So we move up...and since we love going, we took the plunge. We went resale because of the savings and bought at SSR because of the low MF's. Buying DVC also makes it easier for us to take family and friends (my M&D are going with us on our first trip home) and we'll have it to enjoy and pass on to the mice!

I could go on and on and I'm sure the other Dad's can share, too. We fully expect our ownership to be a great fit for us!

Yeah if the Celtics get taken out today that would be funny. But right now they're losing 44-26. Doesn't look like that will happen.

Thanks for the info MinnieKissedMe. I'm in the research phase and from what I'm hearing so far, most members enjoy DVC. It's just helpful to hear from different people about their experiences. Thanks again!

Another one that couldn't be happier ( Well could use way more points) with DVc. We were Mod people and we are now staying for the same yearly cost (Dues and Loan {I know but but it fit for us}) but at the Deluxes now instead.Once the loan is done the real saving will be noticed for us and make it all that much better.

We own at SSr and have stayed there a few times ( really love it) , BCV last year for a week,VeroBeach for 5 nights and have a July 4th trip comeing up for 12 days at BWV and AKV. With the addition of the other resorts and rumor of the other deluxes maybe coming on board it just works real well for us.-
