I have a question for you guys. I was speaking with a co-worker yesterday and they said they went to Kidani in June and when they checked in they asked for a room upgrade to one with a view and they were given one at no additional charge! I am ready to raise Fed's BS flag on this.

They showed me some pics but they were all close up so I can't tell where they were taken from. Have any of you ever received such an upgrade?

I wouldn't bank on it, but I definitely believe it.

You can request anything you want. Doesn't mean they will grant that request, but they will definitely note it on your reservation. If there is availability, and the request is reasonable, they just may drop you a bit of pixie dust.

Just had an Oh Crap ! Moment....I make a habit each night before bed of putting morning meds in a glass to easily and quickly grab. Well today I thought I had taken them all and then decided I needed a Diet Dew on crushed ice...well when I got to the bottom of the glass I turned it up and started chewing what I thought was ice.....ummm no....it was a Lovaza capsule!! Does anyone know how badly fish oil tastes mixed with Diet Mountain Dew??

Oh well off to work and another weekend of call.....found out yesterday that not only on top of our own call and covering the guy's who got fired a few weeks ago..another co worker is going to be off with a back injury for a while on workers comp and we will be covering her call as well!!! I hope that i survive all this!!!

Yikes! Any chance for part-time fill in help? Convince the higher ups that you need fill-ins. We've had success with the Weatherby locum tenens company. They will bring in credentialled physicians in a variety of specialties from around the country. And even if you don't get someone lined up for this stretch, having your hospital establish a relationship with one of these groups will help in the future. Lots of individuals work for these companies part time as ways to make extra money, too. Haven't done it myself, but I know that when the kids are in college, I'll have to!

I started browsing (OK, maybe 'trolling' is a better word) the HalosHeaven.com blog dedicated to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for some light-hearted ribbing of my team's divisional rival. I have been on and off on that blog for the last year. I normally would not be one to ask people to visit my rival's blog, but a recent post really touched my heart. One of the fans there posted an article about his wife getting diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). I was really moved and had to make a donation to his fund raising for finding a cure.

If any of you are interested in the article, it is here. I am not trying to garner donations, but I think the story is at least worth a read.

I put in a good word for the DIS Dads club over there and told them I would pass the word on to y'all about the article.

Hey, did you guys see that the Simply Segway "Tour" (which is really just an indoor class) has been closed? They are still offering the Around the World Tour, which takes you outside and around Epcot (and is awesome if you haven't done it!)

I plan to do that tour one day. It looks fun. I heard they stopped the Savanna tours at AKL. Any truth to that?

I've heard of people getting upgrades at different resorts, but I have never had one. I have asked for a different room location at DVC resorts and they honored my request, but not an upgrade.

I guess we could speed things up...

DVC members can buy the dining plan. AP holders can buy the dining plan if they're staying at a Disney resort, but they usually get better value out of buying a Tables in Wonderland card and using that.
