anyone have an iphone?????? if you do, do you like it and or have any problems with it???? we were at the mall tonight, we went into the verizon store and in a few months tammys and i contracts are up. so i thought id get into the 21st century. i was playing around with it and i think i could attempt it. briana has a droid but the key pad is so small i can even see the numbers.:lmao:

I have the iPhone 4. It's great for everything except typing. However, I use it a lot for work, and had a blackberry with full qwerty keypad before this, so I think it's the change that bothers me the most. DW has the 4 too, and has no issues typing. The apps available, surfing ability, and video clarity are all aces. I would recommend it, unless you plan on mainly using it for email, then I would get a blackberry/droid with keyboard...

I have a Windows phone (Samsung Focus) and I really like it. It is faster than my netbook. It is a different operating system than Iphone, but I don't have any Apple products, so it made sense for me. Getting used to a touch keyboard was new, but way better than trying to text on those old cell phones. I have all my email addresses thru exchange server that I can check easily. Now, it is hard to multiquote DisDad with phone, an Apple probably has an App for that, but I have become dependent on my phone.

I have an iPhone 4 with Verizon. I had a Blackberry before that. I actually prefer typing on iPhone more than blackberry, I can type quicker on it. I don't have macs and never have but I did buy the first iPad when it came out. The iPhone is very user friendly, some(and I mean some, not all) of the Droid phones are not quite as friendly. I've heard good things about HTC, others like Samsungs.

Hello Guys. Things come and things go. People say things one day, then change their outlook another. Life can be so fickle at times can't it? I just wanted to share, and once gain ask for some pixie dust and prayer. I was "invited" on to a conference call yesterday afternoon, and the promises that were made just about 3 or maybe 4 weeks ago now have vanished. I was basically given two options. I could be done effective Monday and receive a severance package, OR, I could continue to work at a reduced salary for 30 days, and then be done and receive no severance package. Hmmm. I selected the severance package option. That'll provide income and health benefits for us through the end of the year whereas the other option, well...yeah.

So, I've now kicked my search into hyper drive. I went in this morning and cleared out my office so that I wouldn't have to deal with that next week. What a great way to start the weekend. But - I'm looking at it as positively as I can, and just pray it will work out decently in the end. It did make my DW feel a little  last night, but it's not like it was totally unexpected. I am now #7 this year. I just wonder how many more will get their notice before the year is finished. :confused3 Oh well, it isn't truly my concern any more. Nearly 11 years came screeching to a halt in one short half hour (and about 3 this morning as I brought everything home).

:eek::eek: Wow. I'm just shocked to hear this happen to you, Christopher.... especially with everything going on in your life now. We'll step up our prayers for you and your family.

Soccer ownage.

First soccer game of the season in the books. Team won 6-1, but it wasn't that close. The other team only had 3 shots on goal all game. I would like to take all the credit for my great coaching, but I think it has more to do with the players. And, one of my stronger offensive players was out today. I really like seasons like this.

Congrats on the win! Sounds like you've got some skilled players there! :thumbsup2 Just finished my "F" certification today and looking forward to our first practice on Monday. Girls under 10 should be fun to coach! :woohoo: i hope :rolleyes1

Sorry to hear about your job, I hope everything works out:goodvibes This is now your opp. to try something else (maybe something you have been wanting to do for awhile) You are a got it together type of guy I'm sure you will succeed in whatever you decide:wizard:

thanks everyone on the iphone!!! im sure thats the way were are going to go. im sure ill get use to typing on the touch screen. ive been playing around with brians phone and one i got the hang of its not a punch screen and you just tap it, it works better.:lmao: thanks again!:thumbsup2

Dave when you go to WDW you have to go to Epcots Italy and catch the Ziti Sisters, If you are in the front I'm pretty sure they will pick you to be in the show (they like the bald heads:lmao:):rolleyes1

:lmao: yes, ive seen them and you are correct, they mostly likely would pick me out of a crowd. i hate going into monsters inc. in the mk, it never fails, lets put the bald (by choice by the way.:lmao:)headed guy up on the screen and make fun of him.:lmao: believe it or not, i hate being picked out for stuff like that. we were picked to be in the navy attack scene one year at mgm back stage tour, wouldnt do it!!! "thats ok, thanks for asking but id rather not." tammy wanted to do it. yah well, gives us another reason to go back.:lmao:

:lmao: 10 year old girls????? easy to coach????? :lmao: youll see.:lmao: you poor poor man, you have no idea what the next 8 years of your life is going to like.:lmao:

Thanks guys for the kind words, well wishes and empathy. It has been a surreal sort of day. Cleaning out the office this morning was... shall we say... fun - NOT. Way too much stuff! 9 years (since we came to Indy) of accumulation. WOW. I brought home like 12 largish boxes, several bags and small boxes, plus large framed artwork and other other personal items. It was crazy.

I'm looking forward to the challenge of finding something new though. I've been working/talking with some recruiters - and really want to see how my strengths and skills can match up to something completely different. I would love to do something completely on my own - but only time will tell if that could be possible.

All 4 of our parentals (as my middle son likes to call DW and I) were quite supportive in our phone calls with them today.

Life is like a box of chocolates, as good old Forrest Gump liked to say... you never really do know what you're going to get.

The only request that I have right now... is if you and I are connected on Facebook - please don't post anything on my wall about this situation until AFTER I say something about it on Monday. I have my reasons why I am waiting until then. Thank you. I would appreciate it.

But enough of that for now. I've been reading some grousing that I haven't been around enough lately, and that some pictures are desired. So I'm going to end this night on the computer in a nice, light, frothy sort of way with some lovely images from that great, big beautiful place called DISNEYLAND.

Enjoy.

I'm struggling with the same kind of choices, Dave. We're about ready to upgrade and I have an LG Chocolate Touch right now. I love the phone, but I HATE the touchscreen. It has always been a pain, but now that it is 2 years old, sometimes I can touch it on the left hand side of the screen and it registers the touch in the middle of the keypad. There are times that it absolutely will not let me use the letter "A" or anything else on the left hand side.:headache: Sometimes i can't even access my contact list either because that "button" won't work.

I've been thinking of upgrading to a smart phone to get access to some apps. I hate to pay the extra $20 a month though, when I don't ever use the internet on my phone anyway since it is annoyingly slow.

I'm on Verizon and I'm kind of torn between the Droid with the slide out keypad, the iphone and the Casio G'zone Commando. I'm probably looking a little harder at the Droid, because I want the keypad after my touchscreen experience with my current phone, but for the abuse I can give a phone I like the dust proof/waterproof features of the Commando. My last phone before my Chocolate Touch got killed by a bath in diesel fuel.:lmao:

It's not really fair to discount an iPhone because of your experience with other touch screens. I encourage you to spend some time playing with an iPhone in an Apple store or AT&T store. Screen quality is one of the areas where the iPhone really stands out.

Seems that this cloud over you and your family just keeps getting darker... Praying for sunnier days for you soon Stopher. I hope that you find the work that you want and where you want.

DD5 had her first soccer "game" today. All kids from the same team playing against each other. There are at least 18 kids from 4 to 6 years old on the team. The coach apologized to me the other day at practice about the number of kids on the team and said that there were lots of kids that signed up, but no one signed up to be a head coach.

I think that he was hinting, but everything I know about soccer, I've learned in the past three weeks of watching their practice. It is fun to watch them try to herd cats on the soccer field though.

Morning guys,

It is going to be a long day for me. I was living in NY 10 years ago and the memories are especially relived this year. I'll post something later.

Hope everyone has a good day and takes a moment to remember the fallen. Not just those who died on 9-11 but also in Iraq and Afghanistan.

 a diesel fuel bath! that would ruin your day real fast. did you have insurance on it? the touch screen is the only thing i would be worried about. we spent about an hour in the store (nobody was there) playing with the touch screens and the iphone was the only one that i got along with.:lmao: there are so many anymore and being i had no idea what i was looking at other than the touch screens and for me it did seem like the i phones screen was easier to work with. the letters seemed to be spaced a tad apart more than the others i played with. i just dont want to buy a lemon. you buy a phone, 10 months later it acts up, take it back to the verizon store and they tell you, ya, they have problems with these things.:confused3 i have a cosmos and the "b" and space bar only work when it wants to. i dont carry the phone around with me so its not like its getting beat up. it sits in my van all day, and the only time i carry it is if we go out after work hours. briana has an i pod thats just like the i phone and i play with that alot so i think thats why im leaning that way.i have two months to go so im going to have to keep playing with them.

the little ive been playing with them, it does seem the iphones screen is easier to work with for me. how is the face to face on them?
