weather update!!! there are parts of i80 and i81 that are closed!! travel is not advised in eastern part of pa. the city of scranton/wilkes barre pa is being forcefully evacuated. the susquhana river in scranton/wilkes is lower than the river. we are stuck between lee and katia and nothing is moving.even when it does stop, everything from new england states all has to come down and they get the rain after we do. local news says we are looking at close to another week of water.:sad2:

Hang in there Dave! Need me to next day air a life raft to you? :)

if only there was a way for me to transport all this water from rain down to Texas or other drought stricken areas...All this rain is getting very old. Flooded streets everywhere makes driving around a mess.Lucky for me I do not have a basement to worry about a sump pump.If we get much more rain I will be able to take a boat (door to door and he live about 70 miles away) to visit Dave instead of driving the turnpike.
Average rainfall for Aug is 4 1/2 inches we had over 16 1/2
Average rainfall for Sept is 5 inches so far we have that already.
Hope other dads in this rainy path are fairing ok with flooding

Hope you guys are not in a flood zone, saw some parts of PA on the news that are getting reflooded along with North Jersey again:scared1:
Sunday when we went to Sesame Place the road (bridge)that connects the 2 parking lots had a huge hole in the middle (looked to be atleast 15ft round) from where the river took it:eek:

Spent a good part of the day at the hospital, My wife had her gallblatter taken out, she is home and doing fine:goodvibes

When the Dr came out to tell me she was fine and will recover quick, and going through the normal things they tell you, he asked if I had any questions:confused3

I got right to the point and asked him if she would be able to go on rollercoasters at the end of the month, I think I threw him for a loop by the look on his face:eek: But then he yes she will be good by then:banana:

On the way home my wife shook her head that I asked the Dr that:lmao: , but with going to Kings Dominion & Busch Gardens at the end of the month I got to be prepared:confused3

On Labor day we had a cook out. DD1 was making a Broccoli salad, she brought it over to me to taste and asked, "Papa, does this have enough Bacon in it?" :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Forgot to mention when I joined the club that I have a Dis Dad in training. My 10 year old son, Declan, loves to wrap his strawberries in bacon.

Reminds me of the old Henny Youngman joke...

Patient: Doctor, after the surgery will I be able to play the Piano
Doctor: Sure
Patient: Good, because I wasn't able to before

:rotfl2:

Take my wife.... please!

Glad your wife is did so well!

And thanks for all the well wishes guys. Nice to be able to give some good news!

Have a great trip, Fed! We expect FB updates!

Checking in while watching the game. Finally getting some computer time today.

First full day as Mr. Mom went smoothly. DD's friends stopped by for a playdate in the afternoon. At one point one of her friends is running around in her underwear looking for her pants. DD then decides she wants me to tickle her, and then tells her friend to get tickled too... so I have someone else's 5 year old DD with no pants jumping into my lap. It was a very weird moment. Her Dad was right there and didn't seem to mind. I kept my tickling to the armpits, just to be safe.

DW seemed disappointed that the house was still standing and neither of the children were damaged in any way.

At a glance it looks like a few Dads are dealing with some water issues from all this rain. Hope you guys stay safe and as dry as possible.

Note to self: check for fantasy football updates on phone, then maybe you won't be starting a kicker who isn't even active tonight!!

Just thought of something, 1inch of rain :teacher: is approx 12 inches of snow:scared1:

This is something to think about since winter is around the corner, I hope this trend ends real soon:eek:

Hmmmm.... so cold is bigger.

Blows that whole theory on shrinkage.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

:lmao:

I don't know what it has to do with frozen food, but I sat through a class for FF and this was part of it:confused3 1 inch of rain is aprox 12 inches of snow is if it is the light stuff, if it is mixed with freezing rain or sleet it can bring it down to 3-6 inches, the way I look at it if I'm ever on a game show and they ask this I got it in the bag:lmao::banana:

Good news! The repeat thyroid levels were NORMAL!

:banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, guys!

I am truely glad for good news! I hope this spreads to the other guys now. Congrats!

Great news Doc!!

T minus less than 24 hours....at 1300 (1 PM) Local EST, DisneyFed, DW and the G-man will be headed south on I 95 for the very long 3.5 hour drive to Disney for a week.

Not checking in until Saturday, but staying offsite and hitting Bass Pro Shops :rolleyes1 and DTD on Friday Night.

I really really really need the break, and I'm very much looking forward to it.

Does BWV have internet (decent), if so, I'll post updates!

Bring on the Dancing Feds....

:dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer:

Mmmm...I grew up with my Bass Pro Shop catalogues...Haven't been to an actual shop in years though, even though there is one 40 mins away

Hokey Smokes Bulwinkle, what the hell?? Man, we have been so fortunate here...

That pic is from a Toronto news channel, see the bottom corner CP24.

Our version of Fox News channel.

CP24 was better when CITYTV owned it. I don`t think Fox News has hour long segments with Pet Vets, car advice etc..:rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Forgot to mention when I joined the club that I have a Dis Dad in training. My 10 year old son, Declan, loves to wrap his strawberries in bacon.

DD1 starts her little "baconbaconbacon" chants. DW at WDW tries to have bacon at least once per day. She only failed 1 day out of 10...:rotfl2:

It looks like it's official. I found out this morning. I got the job. :woohoo:

I gave notice to my current job and will be finishing here the first week of October. Not sure of my exact start date at the new place, but I imagine it would be around the middle of October.

The downside: we will have to move again. :mad: Also, we don't really know anyone in the new city, so the wife's worried she's going to be extremely bored.

Other than that...

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::yay::banana: :banana: :banana:
