Morning All! Another rough day of hanging out at the pool coming up!

Have to fix a lawnmower this morning, some guy ran over a rock and broke the blade adapter, then broke off the bolt that holds it on. He got ticked off and posted it on Craigslist for $20 to "get it away from me!". It is a $300 mower thats only a year old and the parts are only $25. I love people with more money than patience!:cool1:

Brownies and Pepsi, repping from NC.

Welcome, the NC presence here is growing stronger by the month!

Morning, guys!

Happy birthday to Brady & Barry!

Another day of Boy Scout Popcorn Show N' Sells...good thing the scouts I'm with are so nice...keeps me from throttling their lazy, good-for-nothing parents

Hey guys, I am putting together some binders for our trip in November with the in laws. They will be kind of Mission Impossible themed to keep it fun. Does anyone know where I can get a police lineup back ground to paste our head shots on? :confused3

Ummm... let's see... that juvenile arrest was sealed and... No, I don't have any mug sh... er, photos like that.

Um......there will be 7 people on this trip, 2 men and the rest females. Maybe something a little more family friendly :thumbsup2

Oh, they looked pretty friendly...

So a lot of DW's and my friends are digging the whole May 4th/Star Wars Day due date that our newcomer is scheduled to have, as I am apparently the biggest SW Geek they know. They've been working on SW names for us to give the child if they are born on the 4th (as if they some how doubt my ability to come up with one).

One of her friends suggested "Vada" for a girl. Not crazy about it at all. If I wanted to name her after a Lady Vader, I'd call her "Lumiya".

My wife was joking about other names and she suggested "Lando" if it's a boy.

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

"YES!" I exclaimed. "THAT IS IT!"

She thinks I was joking too. She has no idea how serious I am about it. If there ever was a name I'd like better than Chewbacca, it would be Lando.

I hope you have it on video. Although, evidence may not help. You do not want any full and frank discussions immediately after a birth.

Disney has a waterboard!? Cool!

Surprised you didn't know this. They call it It's A Small World.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We're down here in rural Virginia at my Mom's place for our long weekend. The kids spent some time yesterday at the local pool/waterpark and the 4yo fell asleep around 5:30pm. That would explain some of her grumpiness yesterday. The kid was exhausted! Summer is hard work.

Happy Birthday to the Birthday Dads!

hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend so far. This is my one day off this weekend, so it's off to NJ to visit family. DW doesn't enjoy visiting my family but I told her to look at as an opportunity to put them on the spot and get answers about next year's big family disney trip!! :lmao:

I'll get bacon in the morning!

Lessee, about myself: Just became a dad in April to a beautiful DD. Buying way too many Princess clothes for her already. Been married 3 years, went to DW on Honeymoon, stayed at CBR. Went back a couple years ago to see Red Sox play Braves(Neither fav really, but was present to DW), stayed at POP. Taking my DD to POR for her first birthday next April and cannot wait. I've been to DW about 6 times.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Welcome!!

My family will be at WDW in April as well. We will be there the first week leaving the 7th. Any chance you'll be there then?

Congrats on your DD! Enjoy all the Princess Gear....I have two Princesses at home! (Well 3 if you want to count my DW - but that's only on certain days)

:rotfl2:

I've just been watching videos where people surprise their kids with trips to Disney (Aaron I know you've done one). And they all bring a tear to my eye, and make such special lasting memories.

So what I decided I am going to do tomorrow is, I am going to wake my kids up at 6:00 am, cameras rolling, lights flashing, and have an all day scavenger hunt around our town, it will all lead up to a huge climax where we have all our bags packed, the car loaded up, get streamers, balloons, the whole 9 yards, and then tell them WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!

Man will their reaction be priceless.

Then after I got the video, and the memories to last forever, I will say Just Kidding, now get to bed you've got school in the morning.

Your thoughts?

We'll be getting down there the 9th. Spring break will be really busy but I'm a teacher and it's the only time I can really get off, plus it's right after her birthday.

Fantastic idea! That should be priceless.

We did the surprise reveal at Christmas and ds looks a bit worried on the video. He thought we were going to skip the cruise and just go to WDW. Once he realized it was both, he was all for it.

Have a great scavenger hunt.

. I like a good prank, but can't prank with WDW as punchline. Now, if you did the video, told them that, and then took a surprise trip to WDW the next day or week, then it may be ok.

FYI... That was just a joke... in the "Deep Thought's by Jack Handy" vein... :)

Heard on the Boat:

G-Man: Daddy I have a fish

Me: Are you sure

G-Man: Well, my bobber went under

Me, now looking back: Reel him in Bud!!

G-Man: I don't think I can do that

Me: Why not.

G-Man: Because it's an alligator.

Me, now stepping over to him: What the "peanut butter"...

Sure enough, he's hooked a 3 foot alligator. Hooked a fish first, the alligator ate the fish...and here's my 3 year old reaching down to "pull the alligator off":scared1::scared1:

I can't figure it out, I can lose a 5 inch bream on this rod, but I can't shake this gator off--finally just cut the line.

Thank **GOD** his mother wasn't there:headache:

I am back from the future... just in time to warn myself not do this.

Just to bring you up to speed on the reprocutions, the year is 2034, my son just got out of prison. He attributes his violent mood swings to "the day that idiot formerly known as my Dad, made me search through a dumpster to find a damn pin to trade, and then toyed with my emotions with promises of Mickey shaped food, and days of unprecedented family fun." I should have known he was heading down that path when the following day he cut the brakes in my car, and blamed Goofy.

My daughter on the other hand, she's doing much better. It's been 3 weeks now since she started talking to me again. She introduced me to her new...ummm.... life partner.... awwww, who am I kidding. It's her wife. She told me that after my fun with video, she decided she never wants to have kids, saying something about "they are humans with feelings and emotions, not to be toyed with for the sheer amusement of some loner's on a social networking site" ... It was something like that, I have to admit I tuned her out when she started to drone on and on about me being a loser, and I should really be more considerate about others peoples feelings... or some malarkey like that.

Anyways, My wife remarried 3 months after the incident, and me I'm doing fine, my candid camera show did well, it was number one in the ratings for a bunch of years, and now I am planning to take my nephew to the moon next week. It should be a riot.

Oh, and before you ask....

You'll thank me one day.

Anyways folks... sing it with me....

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of ev'ryday
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
And tomorrow's just a dream away

Man has a dream and that's the start
He follows his dream with mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true for you and me

So there's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of ev'ryday
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away

Watched True Grit tonight. Awesome movie. Even better - DW redboxed it for our anniversary, and we just got to it today. That makes up for the flower snafu.

I've only seen the John Wayne version. How does it compare?
