Dave, you had me up until the Merc. Really? :confused3 At least find a nice vintage Oldsmobile Delta 88 or a Lincoln Continental. :lmao:

ill go for the lincoln. ill have to swing by walmart, get myself some velcro closing shoes, white shorts, pastel green shirt and some white socks i can pull up to my knees.:lmao:

Power back on around 8:30pm. My neighbor drove a mile or so away and found a ConEd crew. She brought them some sodas and 3 pizzas then asked them to follow her to our neighborhood. Within 20 minutes, 3-4 utility trucks show up and our entire neighborhood comes out to greet them. 15 minutes later the power is restored and there was much rejoicing.

Then my boiler starts smoking like crazy so I shut it down and the oil company is coming tomorrow to check it out. Threw out basically the entire refrigerator and 2 freezers. At least we are back in our house.

On a more positive note, my men's hockey team (The Rebels) finished 12-6 in the summer league and first in our division. We won our first round playoff game 3-2 in OT and will be playing in the double elimination championship round next week.

Thanks for all the good thoughts!!

glad you got your power back on!!!:thumbsup2

Good Evening Gents.

My interview went fairly well yesterday. I think I did a pretty decent job and, according to my recruiter, at least a few of the 6 people who interviewed me liked me and want me to work there. I wasn't expecting to have the interview almost completely in Korean (I did have a translator who worked there help, thankfully). I should be finding out if I got the job sometime early next week.
On a side note, my recruiter also told me that they didn't inquire to him about other possible interviewees, so that sounds good.

Overall, it was a LOOONG day yesterday. Woke up at 5:30, out of the house before 6:30, took a 2 hour rapid train, a 20 minutes taxi, a 1 hour bus, and a 5 minute taxi to get there (not including waiting times or changing into my suit once I got to the city), the way back was almost the same, except a 40 minute bus instead of the 20 minute taxi. Then went to the wife's bar, had a few glasses of Balentine's and a few glasses Cognac. Got home about 2am, but didn't fall asleep til about 4.
:thumbsup2

Anniversary ownage.

I like cracker barrel for breakfast and their dinner food is good, but just a drag when they don't serve beer.
tammy dont like there breakfast as much but she will go. happy anniversary bt the way!!!:thumbsup2

I've been planning that FL retirement thing as well and my youngest is 7. I have read that with girls especially, they tend to live closer to their parents and the state they graduated college from. Currently, my university offers free tuition for employee's families (only 1 person at a time per semester). So, I am trying to calculate when I can get both thru school, retire, have DW move to FL to establish residency, ... It is complicated.
health insurance should be, as long as things stay the same, more managable when dw turns 55 so thats what we are waiting for. im sure we will both work somewhere. :thumbsup2

Interesting. Did he have a gray Wisconsin hoodie on? Or look bruised from a recent fall down a cliff? :scratchin

:lmao::lmao: i hope he didnt have that hoodie on, it would be all ripped up. :sad1:

Good Morning! (well, almost afternooon!)

Good Evening Gents.

My interview went fairly well yesterday.

Good Luck!!

I think we should start a DisDad movement for a 2 day workweek and 5 days off. No pay decreases.

I am about to start that work schedule!! only, I had to take the pay decrease too!! Why can't my job pay me just because I'm not there?:confused3

You forget the lot fees/ homeowners fees. When I win the powerball lottery Saturday and move there, I'll get you some specifics.

I didn't actually forget. I was waiting for people to commit before springing it on them. Everybody loves a good-natured practical joke like that, right?

All this talk about Cracker Barrel is making me hungry.

I'll have to go get my bacon cheeseburger fix somewhere else though. No cracker barrels in manhattan.

Hello. My name is Dave and I've been neglecting my DisDad duties. Apparently there is this thing called work that one must do, and unfortunately it's been peanut butteringly crazy in a not so good kinda way. I'm sure in the next several weeks I'll need to vent, and this might be the place I do it.

I hope you're all doing well. I haven't had a chance to read over 70 pages yet, but I hope to soon.

Cheers,
Indy

I'm not spam, but being cautious of me is definitely recommended. :thumbsup2 <===is a thumb

If I get two numbers, I can add them together and be the GREATEST DISDAD IN THE TRI STATE AREA!!!!

Have a good Friday Gents. Off to work.

Cheers,
Indy

Wow, I almost got to welcome him back before he disappeared again. Maybe next month:confused3

Hope they don't keep you waiting too long.

Never seen a goat in a hoodie before.

Oohhhhh........I see what you did there:rolleyes1

And a great job it would be. They figured out our code so we just went with it. When we drive in the car (local) or go for a walk, we play 20 questions with the answer being Disney related. We name "things I want to do at Disney" with REPEAT if someone names something already.

We play a similar game.

Guess what I am thinking. Either a an attraction, restaurant, or character.

When ever it's my turn to pick, I tell them "ok, it's a character", then first character they guess I say "Right, how'd you get that so quickly" and they walk around all proud.

Posted a new Friday Five at disdads.com this afternoon. If anyone's going to WDW between now and November 11, the first item of the five is a Groupon - $15 for $30 worth of Ridemakerz credit at the Downtown Disney location! :thumbsup2

Have a great Labor Day weekend everyone!! Stay safe and enjoy the last blast of summer!:thumbsup2

We are headed to Cincinnati to Great Wolf Lodge. Never been before so hopefully I have not built it up too much in my mind. What is everyone else doing this weekend...

Oh yeah...congrats on number 6000 Dave!:cool1: I beat you to it! LOL

Hillsville, VA Gun show and Flea market. :woohoo:

Our company decided to do four day weeks over the summer at each employee's decision. But you had to commit one way or the other. About 2/3 of the office took them up on the offer. It was fantastic! Quietest day of the week and got more done than I usually can in two days!

Unfortunately, today was the last day. Looks like my productivity goes back down next week...

Dave if your going to get a Lincoln get the Town Car, I love mine, plenty of power, handles like you are floating, gets great highway miles (better then the 6cyl mini van:confused3) the only problem with it is if you do a long trip it is so comfortible that you might fall asleep:scared1:

Funny little note:lmao: The 1st night we were at WDW I was wearing my Dis Dad Club polo shirt, when we went to see the Princesses Belle said The Dis Dads Club strangely I have heard of this group:lmao: I think I know how, she must have been the one who held up the sign:lmao:

I had 3 shirts with me I only wore it the 1 night mainly because it was getting TOO Much attention:scared1: Now Brent can back this up even on line I was asked about it:goodvibes

So a lot of DW's and my friends are digging the whole May 4th/Star Wars Day due date that our newcomer is scheduled to have, as I am apparently the biggest SW Geek they know. They've been working on SW names for us to give the child if they are born on the 4th (as if they some how doubt my ability to come up with one).

One of her friends suggested "Vada" for a girl. Not crazy about it at all. If I wanted to name her after a Lady Vader, I'd call her "Lumiya".

My wife was joking about other names and she suggested "Lando" if it's a boy.

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

"YES!" I exclaimed. "THAT IS IT!"

She thinks I was joking too. She has no idea how serious I am about it. If there ever was a name I'd like better than Chewbacca, it would be Lando.

Couldn't do it... I'd look out the window and see Flight Deck and I'd end up craving some coaster rides.:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Have a great time!

I was thinking about going to the Purdue game tomorrow, but it's going to be ridiculously hot and I need to get the locking mechanism on my truck repaired so I'll stay home and watch some football tomorrow afternoon and we might do something Monday... not sure yet. May head to the zoo if it isn't too hot.
