:woohoo: sorry barry, the rabbit lived!!!! :woohoo: i really dont know if i could start all over again. im getting to old for it any more.(the being a new dad part):lmao: im hoping to pack it in in another 9 years around here. we have been looking at houses in the sanford area. even with the housing slump i could sell my house here for 30k more than what i could get a nice 3 bedroom, enclosed pool, house in florida. my taxs would be the third of what i pay here. the biggest problem at this point is health insurance. so we are planning to just hold off till brianas out of school and shes up and running on her own. retiring to florida with the rest of the old geezers.:lmao: we are also looking into a merc. grand marc.:lmao:

Dave, you had me up until the Merc. Really? :confused3 At least find a nice vintage Oldsmobile Delta 88 or a Lincoln Continental. :lmao:

Power back on around 8:30pm. My neighbor drove a mile or so away and found a ConEd crew. She brought them some sodas and 3 pizzas then asked them to follow her to our neighborhood. Within 20 minutes, 3-4 utility trucks show up and our entire neighborhood comes out to greet them. 15 minutes later the power is restored and there was much rejoicing.

Then my boiler starts smoking like crazy so I shut it down and the oil company is coming tomorrow to check it out. Threw out basically the entire refrigerator and 2 freezers. At least we are back in our house.

On a more positive note, my men's hockey team (The Rebels) finished 12-6 in the summer league and first in our division. We won our first round playoff game 3-2 in OT and will be playing in the double elimination championship round next week.

Thanks for all the good thoughts!!

Chris- Glad to hear you got your power back. :woohoo: We really lucked out with this storm... let's just hope we don't get another one for a few years.

Hello. My name is Dave and I've been neglecting my DisDad duties. Apparently there is this thing called work that one must do, and unfortunately it's been peanut butteringly crazy in a not so good kinda way. I'm sure in the next several weeks I'll need to vent, and this might be the place I do it.

I hope you're all doing well. I haven't had a chance to read over 70 pages yet, but I hope to soon.

Cheers,
Indy

Thanks Tim. We were lucky to be able to stay with my in-laws, but I wanted to be back in my own home.

I could do without a storm like this for 50 years.

Guys, this seems like a spam message. Be careful if this person pm's or contacts you in any way.

;)

Kidding! Hi Dave!

It's been a long day and I probably should have been doing this... but I've been THINKING.

Let's pool our money and get a Golden Oaks house. One of the lower end homes at $2 mil. Divide that by 52 dads and it's only $38,461.53. We each get it for one week of the year. And if it turns out the house can fit two families comfortably, then we double the pool and halve the buy-in to $19,230.77

Just start sending me your checks and I'll um... go down there and do more research!! :rolleyes1

Good Evening Gents.

My interview went fairly well yesterday. I think I did a pretty decent job and, according to my recruiter, at least a few of the 6 people who interviewed me liked me and want me to work there. I wasn't expecting to have the interview almost completely in Korean (I did have a translator who worked there help, thankfully). I should be finding out if I got the job sometime early next week.
On a side note, my recruiter also told me that they didn't inquire to him about other possible interviewees, so that sounds good.

Overall, it was a LOOONG day yesterday. Woke up at 5:30, out of the house before 6:30, took a 2 hour rapid train, a 20 minutes taxi, a 1 hour bus, and a 5 minute taxi to get there (not including waiting times or changing into my suit once I got to the city), the way back was almost the same, except a 40 minute bus instead of the 20 minute taxi. Then went to the wife's bar, had a few glasses of Balentine's and a few glasses Cognac. Got home about 2am, but didn't fall asleep til about 4.

That's a great idea! Let me call Bernie Madoff so I can withdraw my money from those investments and give it right to you!

Yeah, slow to reply. but I've got some spotty internet again and I've been crashing early, been so damn tired..

Did it have a good lie? :rotfl2:

Funny, I read BTD's post and thought, so how much loft did you get on the approach?

I did what any self-respecting golfer would do....took two strokes off for "emotional trauma"...that or ask my partner if I could borrow his 7 iron

Perhaps the groundskeeper was trying to send you a message. Be lucky it wasn't a horse head.

Enough woodland creatures are threatened when I shoot without adding to the body count:rotfl2:

If I get two numbers, I can add them together and be the GREATEST DISDAD IN THE TRI STATE AREA!!!!

Have a good Friday Gents. Off to work.
