Excelent news. We’re still keeping y’all in our thoughts down this way. :goodvibes

Pup! :rotfl:

I certainly remember them, but never owned one. At the time I was working on IBM Mainframes for a living.

:

Rob what plant did you work at? Was it here in Boulder? Thats where Im working now.

All I had on my Commodore was that stupid game where you're a knight, or warrior and walking through the woods....you want to kill the bird, and you tell it to, but the stupid game says "Why would you want to do that"???

Stupid bird....:lmao:

How'd I miss this...

I think the proper response is...

The Bird is Beverlying me off...and I'm hungry!!!

i wish that i could find a place to download more music from the parks. i've downloaded some stuff of itunes, but it isn't the park version of the music... Just not the same. I've got to say the #1 sound for me is "this here is the wildest ride in the wilderness!"

i can help with that!!!

1]...well in my neck of the woods...the "Grand-Daddy of them all" usually refers to the "Largest."

2] No comment...other than I call it that to get on DS16's nerves...also call the MK "Disney World"...and the TTC "the station". Also it should be "Disney's Animal Kingdom"...to be technically correct.

3] What's Hollywood Studios? Disney's Hollywood Studios...I still call MGM for DS16's benefit.

4] Maybe WWoHP and IoA were lumped into Universal Studios? ...that's how I think of them...being I have never been.

My humble observations:
1. Grand Daddy of them all = The Rose Bowl

2. EPCOT Center - I know it isn't called that anymore, but that's what it was originally called. I guess I'm pretty indifferent as to EPCOT with or without the Center.:confused3

3. DHS = MGM again, MGM was the original name and it is what I'm used to so I don't care either way.:confused3

4. Universal Studios: I agree, I take the name Universal Studios to include IOA and Potter. I've always viewed it as Universal Studios is the name of the entire resort/property/etc. much like Walt Disney World is the all encompassing name for that resort. In all honesty I don't know why they named specific parks at Disney World anyway... as short as the article is, they should have just said Walt Disney World and left it at that. I question their credibility anyway based on the fact that Orlando isn't #1. :lmao::rotfl2:

OWNAGE

So...what is that one sound that sends you to your happy place at WDW everytime you hear it?

Well my happy place is actually sitting across from Aloha Isle...but for some reason when I hear the Star Tunnel music (exit of Space Mt.) I am pixiedust: in the Magic Kingdom.

Mine is the Monorail speil for sure. Like i mentioned on the podcast I have the shirt, hats and the ringtone!
Whenever I need a fix I have a file on my itouch with over 570 mp3's of various disney stuff. From rides to background noises to songs if it is in the park I more then likely have it.

Any request email me.

So when are you headed to Myrtle Beach again...I'm heading there over Easter...mainly because my wife is from there (Native) and She who must be obeyed says I must go visit MIL.....:confused3

Good thing I'm taking the boat...:lmao:

My parents own at the Marriott Timeshare there "Ocean Watch Villas" and we're going June 25 - July 2.

It's nice...but the beach pales in comparison to Daytona...it's very shell'y and the ocean has a rocky/shell'y floor where the Marriott is.

Nonetheless...it's still great R&R!

Ok, I know where that is....

I'm in the minority, but I avoid the main beaches like the plague...much happier down in Garden city--better beach, quieter living:thumbsup2

Last year was the first year we actually went to the Marriott resort....very nice place. 2 bedroom place.

Many years ago we used to go every year and stay down in Surfside Beach. Quieter and nicer beach as well.

Mark - I just read your new post on the disdads.com blog - great post! :thumbsup2

Agreed! Excellent post from a talented blogger! :thumbsup2 If I can manage something 1/3 as good in a comment, I'll be happy!

Too bad blogging doesn't count on your resume :confused3

Hey Denver-area Dads. I have a work-trip to Denver tentatively scheduled for May 10-12. I'd love to get together for dinner one night. The case that is the reason for the trip looks to be headed to trial, though it really shouldn't be. So there's still a chance it will cancel. But I went ahead and made my hotel reservation today, so I figured I'd go ahead and mention it here.

Hey guys... just popping in quickly to say hi. Nice to see the thread is moving right along with another 8 or 9 new pages.

We made it safely yesterday and are enjoying being here. Had a few glitches along the way with the travel part, but that's okay. We enjoyed the resort last night, and had a great time playing games.

Today it rained, quite a bit of lightening and thunder, with downpours throughout the morning and into the early afternoon, which definitely plays well with hanging out at the resort. We enjoyed a movie, played a bunch of Wii, played cards, and DD and I played hide and seek (this room is ginormous... if you have stayed in a 2 BD at OKW before then you'll know what I mean); made three awesome meals in the room - even ate one of them out on the balcony after the rains had stopped... and when it stopped and cleared up around 2ish, we went over and played some mini-golf at Winter Summerland. Never done that one before, only Fantasia Gardens previously. It was neat. Just like Blizzard Beach, it has some great contradictions in theming. Loved it. During the rain we ventured over to the Community Hall for Pin Trading; while there we were treated to button making. I took some pics and will post them later. Normally that is an activity-for-a-fee, but today is was gratis due to the rain. We each made one, my daughter made 3. Mine was Goofy. I should have added my number for something to it, but only thought about that now as I was typing. One son ventured over to DTD to find a present for his sister, the other ventured over to the resort shop, and in the evening DD and I ventured over to the main pool.

Tomorrow is DD's birthday, and we go for the first of our 2 table service meals. We'll breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe, followed by a trek over to Typhoon Lagoon, then pool hopping after that. (and yeah, I know - it's a park, just not a "theme" park. But it was the kids' request, so we're honoring it - and it IS DD's birthday, so a little honoring is called for I guess...)

We still aren't sure what Thursday or Friday will bring. We're living on the edge here... but having a marvelous time. The rest of the week has no more rain in the forecast, so hopefully that plays out to be true.

I'll post some pics and such when I get home again.

Have a great week guys... I am. :cool2:

:thumbsup2 glad you made it and are having a great time stopher!!!!
we love the 2br at okw!!!:thumbsup2
