Disney Surprise Trip FAIL

No, it's not my surprise trip. That's only 16 days away and the kids still have no idea we're going. My boss tried to surprise her kids with a trip this May. They went 2 years ago and her daughter has been asking pretty much constantly when they are going back. Finally, she booked the trip a week or so ago. She let her 13 year old son know, but decided to wait until Sunday to surprise her twins on their 8th birthday. She gave them a card, saying look for your first clue, look in the freezer. There was a note in there saying "We're going to chill out. For your second clue, look in the hall closet". In there, they found two to those big bouncy balls, with a note saying "We're going to have a ball. For your last clue, give your mom a kiss."
When they did, she handed them each a Disney Gift Card. The daughter got excited because she knew what it meant. The son didn't seem very thrilled, so his sister says to him "We're going to Disney World!" He replied with an "I know that!" and smacked her. She retaliated, pushing him down and banging his knee on the coffee table. He jumped up and tried to retaliate more before the adults stepped in and pulled them apart. :headache::headache:

:lmao:

Welcome back Stopher :thumbsup2

Thanks. Now we just need to figure out a time to get together... what's your schedule looking like the next couple of weeks?

Welcome back! :cool1: It was almost quiet while you were gone :lmao: Have fun getting caught up... sheesh....

Thanks... yeah, right, like I'm really going to go back through 60+ pages to get caught up. :rotfl: Not gonna happen - besides, I was kinda following along each night after the family was in bed... I just refrained from commenting.

Welcome Home!

Thanks!

Nemisis!!!

Could have sworn I had seen an email for the DDC8 thread earlier that said you were back and had already written a Trip report...must have dreamed it? :confused3

No - I think you might be thinking about my September TR which I did finish (the one where you and I met up at Epcot)... I DO still need to finish my December Bicoastal TR... and that's first... so I might just skip doing one for this visit... I'm not sure... :rolleyes1

:rolleyes1 Weeeeellllllll.... we did blare that horn pretty much from Chattanooga all the way through til north of Nashville... so could be! :cool2: Wanted to make sure you heard me.

Hey, welcome home! Glad you had a good trip with some quality family time.

Thanks! How was Dallas? Sorry we couldn't make yesterday happen... but we'll figure something else out soon. Just let me know some more options Andy.

welcome home stopher!!:thumbsup2

Thanks Dave. I was telling DW about your Disney van... she thought that was a cool idea, in theory. But don't think it will be happening in my house though... she reaffirmed her desire to never drive again. This trip was ok... except for the 4 complainers throughout the vehicle (one of which was not me).

Welcome back Mr. Stopher. Now we'll stop dragging along at a measly 8 or 9 pages a day.

Thanks!

Welcome back!

Thanks! Enjoy your own trip coming up very, very soon... I'm envious... you sure you don't want to swing by Indy and pick me up... I'm game for going back south.

Welcome back stopher! I'm curious to see what you finally decided upon to fill the week...

Thanks Mark! Now don't go and let that curiousity get the best of you... you'll see soon. Until then, I'll leave you with these thoughts... rest, relaxation and fun!

Welcome back to the Midwest. Enjoy the weather. :sad2:

Thanks... but you could keep all this rain back up your way, you know! :)

Welcome back Stopher!

Hey Tim! Thanks.

I started looking at my calendar today for early June... without going back 60+ pages... still up for it if I can swing it? I got an AWESOME new pin while in Florida... I'll take a picture of it and post it soon. I was so close to picking one up for you too... but then I thought, what if he already has one? So I saved the $9... but it IS the thought that counts, right?

This thread moves pretty fast, you take a day of to sell a bunch of ice-cream to NBA fans and the next thing you know, you’re down 10 pages.

Yeah... try going to Florida for a few days.... :lmao:

I do believe that a big ol’ Welcome Home is in order (along with a “So when’s the next trip?”).

Thanks! And it could be late May or early June... doing some work on the calendar this morning, and that's what I'm seeing... but nothing definite just yet.

I am up in your neck of the woods next week on Tuesday and Thursday and the week after that those days as well. Let me know if that works for you. :thumbsup2

I posted the new Monday poll over at disdads.com. Also, somewhat related (in that the poll is about DHS) is that I need a couple more volunteers for the podcast that we're scheduled to record on Thursday. Right now, I have prattpak and DEA on board. We could use up to three more volunteers to round out the panel. This week's show is mosly about Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Aaron, I'll be glad to help. Email inbound.

:cloud9: Memories :rotfl2:

I had the exact opposite. Weatherman predicted 80° and sunny until 2pm, then sever thunderstorms. We planned the entire day around being out side until mid afternoon, then using all that rainy time to do the stuff we needed to do inside the house. Well, the sunny and warm lasted all afternoon and into the evening. Not a drop of rain until 11:45pm. That was a Beverly of an afternoon - longing glances out the window, wishing I could be out there enjoying the first really nice day of the year. :sad2:

We had a similar plan but I called an audible yesterday afternoon. As part of our spring cleaning, garden work was promoted on the to-do list over laundry / closets since the weather remained clear.

Oh, it's not that pictures are no allowed - its that no camera has been invented that is fast enough to snap a picture that any better than just a vague red blur. :thumbsup2

Gotcha, you know I have heard about the phantom sonic booms near the Illinois/Wisconsin border. That's why you have the five point harnesses in that bad boy right :lmao:

Um yeah, sonic booms... they are booms alright, but usually they are followed by an air quality alert... :rotfl2:

Can't always please everyone!! At least she was successful in pleasing 67% of her children!

Didn't Meatloaf have a song about this... 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Stopher: Welcome home. Glad you had a good trip, now get back to work. :lmao:

Gentlemen, it is 73 degrees F here in McLean, VA with some high clouds. Motivation to actually do work.... fading.

You had me going at first... I thought maybe your surprise trip was off.
That is hilarious though.:lmao::rotfl2:

I’ll be working on that one if someone doesn’t beat me to it.
I look forward to it... :lmao:
I just realized I had a color blind moment when I saw my quote in your post.:headache:

Thanks! How was Dallas? Sorry we couldn't make yesterday happen... but we'll figure something else out soon. Just let me know some more options Andy.
Had fun... it was a whirlwind trip, but I had a good time at the race Saturday night. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if either one of my flights could have actually left on time. :headache:

I just thought about you coming through the airport over the weekend so I tried to message you on FB with my phone while I was sitting in the terminal. I have a touchscreen phone that doesn't always cooperate with my oversize fingers so I might have sent you 2 messages. :lmao:

Yeah, sounds like a classic case of spring fever. You'd better go home before it becomes contagious and you infect your co-workers.:rotfl2:

Very cool. Whirlwinds can be fun.

We actually didn't enter the terminal yesterday - just the rental car return counter. Sounds weird I know - but we flew down, and drove back. Had to return the car at the airport instead of closer to home, since our car was at the airport from flying down... I told you 6ish... but we didn't even get there til 8ish... and then home by 9sih. My poor eldest had to be up at 6ish this morning to catch the bus at 7. Oh well, those are the breaks, now aren't they? :rotfl: Thanks for thinking of me though!

Stopher: Welcome home. Glad you had a good trip, now get back to work. :lmao:

Thanks..... yeah, yeah. I've been printing out financial reports all morning long that I need to analyze; as well as working on some reports for our board; and scanning several new loan applications that were in my stack waiting for me... I need a little break from all of that. At least it's overcast and drizzly so I'm not staring out the window wishing I were outside...

I look forward to it... :lmao:
I just realized I had a color blind moment when I saw my quote in your post.:headache:

Oh, it’s on the way. :thumbsup2

Now, by the way… “Color Blind Moment”…

I am well versed in the concept of a “Saigon Moment”, or a “Senior Moment” or even an “Oh-No Second”, but you’ve hit me with a new metaphor there. And... As no self-respecting South’ner can possible resist adding just one more metaphor to his arsenal, I’d like to hear the exact definition (It may seem fairly obvious, but it’s always best to hear the particulars directly from the horse’s mouth).

Hello Dads! Lapsed member here...

Just got off the Wonder from Mexico Sunday and is it bad that I have NO motivation to work and am still looking for the drink guy to bring me my Mai Tai?
