All right... trying to catch up on memberships here... Sorry for the late replies here guys!!

Hello fellas !

I just joined the disboards, but have been reading them for awhile. I stumbled across your dad's group and had to try and join.

I am from Missouri, I have 5 kids. a 7 year old girl, 4year old boy girl twins and 1 year old identical twin girls. Yep back to back sets! We stay busy, and get lots of funny looks when we get out all the strollers at the mall.

Took them all to Disney for the first time 3 weeks ago, and are planning our return trip this november ( if I can talk the little woman into it).

Anyway thanks for letting me in (hopefully)

5 kids  Twins  Double twins :eek: Congratulations :) And welcome to the club! You are member # 563! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

NO...I am not going back.

do you ever have to???? you know you can always miss ten fifteen pages in here and never miss a beat with what is going on :lmao::lmao:

I'm making them a map of the homes that contain MENSA members near me. I figure they would have tastier brains, kinda the same theory as veal calves.

Theres a scenic part:confused3?

We starting to build up quite the local chapter, there are a few other dads on here from Morrisville and Garner.

Since I'm no longer allowed to ask if you are local (Thanks Fed!:headache:), what area of Raleigh are you in? I'm over by Triangle Towne center.

I like the idea of the brain map for Zombies. Wouldn't MENSA members have well used brains though? That'd probably make them tough and gamey. I'd think zombies would prefer little used brains. Thankfully I see lots of people who aren't using their brains when I'm driving around. I think I'll start gathering license plate numbers for the zombies.

So maybe I was stretching with the scenic part. We have tree's and pinestraw.

I'm in northwest Raleigh, near the corner of 540 and Leesville Rd.

Wait a second....so what you are saying is the Dis Dads posts are like a soap opera? You can miss years worth of episodes and get caught up in less then an hour.:rotfl2:

I feel a little odd that you were lurking and watching me from afar, but not the first time I have have had a stalker, won't be the last..... welcome glad you're here

If lurking on the disboards weirds you out, I probably shouldn't post pictures of the "Beautiful Mind"ish setup I made out of DDC TR's. I'm pretty sure if I can just add a couple more pictures it will unlock either the secret to time travel or a mediocre chicken sandwich recipe.

HOLY COW!!!!:scared1: I can't believe how chatty everyone was yesterday evening. Must still be some adrenaline going around from closing the last thread out. At this rate Don had better get the next thread set up because we'll be racing to close this one by the end of next week.

Welcome to the new dads. Always good to have you here. If you like Disney and fart jokes, you've come to the right place.

As for the minivan going 120 mph... I firmly believe it can be done. In HS, my best friend's mom had a Dodge Caravan... I think the speedometer went up to 120 or 140. I had a 93 Chevy truck that had a speedometer that went up to 85. I knew from experience that there was a governor somewhere over 85 mph, but not sure how fast I could go before it kicked in. So how else do you test it, but by getting a vehicle that registers higher speeds on the speedometer and run side by side on the interstate? :confused3:rolleyes1

We found out that my truck shut down at around 97-100 mph... that's when he started to pull ahead of me in the van and he said he got it up to 110 before he let off of it. By the way, a group of us were on our way to Kings Island, just north of Cincinnati that day. That was by far the quickest drive to Cincinnati, ever.:rolleyes1

The best way to know how fast your going after your speedometer pegs is to get on the interstate and floor it.. When a trooper stops you, you will have written proof of your exact speed using laser technology:rotfl2:

Don’t smash your face.
I think that's from arms & shoulders... they all run together anymore.:lmao::rotfl2:

HAHA! Yep! Tony cracks me up... he's one of the reasons I chose this workout... entertaining and kicks my glutes... :lmao:

How long have you been doing P90? I have been doing it for a few weeks, and really like it

This is my third week. It's been tough trying to work out the full 6 days a week. But it's getting "easier" now... at least I don't feel like a Mac truck hit me! :rotfl2:

Don I think we need to post our DDC records that were set yesterday :thumbsup2

Lets see we had 55 pages in one day- new record!!!

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl:  Great timing!! HAHAHA! Good one, Rob! :lmao:

Wow, you guys are a trip. I am on vacation this week, just sitting around trying to become a Disney World pro without any experiance, and I still cant keep up with you guys. This place is awesome though considering the fact that I'm an ultra planner that has already started planning my trip for Sept. 2012. The fact that everyone is excited about closing out another thread is very Dadish to me and there for I'm excited to get the goal orriented opinions about WDW and life in general. Thanks for being here and for being loud and abnoxious, 2 traits i like in a message board.

*Waving hand fanatically* me too, me too, me too. pick me!

Welcome to the club!! Would have posted this earlier, but had to get through nearly 90 pages of posts!! :rolleyes1 You are member # 564! :thumbsup2

Hi Guys, I would love to take the test to join the club!!! I figured that I would join and get my 1st post in before the big celebration for Stopher1's 10,000th post.

You made it just in time! Welcome to the club.... you are member # 565! :thumbsup2

So I've been lurking on this and some of the other disdads threads. While this seemed like a place I should sign up, I wasn't sure that I needed to find another timesuck on the disboards. I finally decided that it was time to man up this afternoon, but then work got in the way. so it had to wait till tonight. So gentlemen, I'd like to become one of you.

Here's a little bit about me. (Man I hope I'm posting this in the right place, but hey if not I'll be heartily mocked and feel right at home)

I live in scenic Raleigh, NC am married and have two mostly great kids. DS is 8 and DD is 5. I run product strategy for a small software company and travel ALOT. I have an insane number of FF miles and yet we still drive to Disney, because I hate waiting for the buses and I'm too cheap for a rental car.

First trip as a family to WDW was about 4 years ago and we stayed off property with a single day at MK. As we rode the monorail from the TTC I remember watching the people getting on the monorail at the Poly and thinking how awesome it would be to stay on property but that I could never spend the money to do that. Skip to 2 years later and wife is diagnosed with pretty advanced breast cancer. The diagnosis flipped our world upside down (and it worked out being a good thing , just like it did for Will Smith). It made us realize we were saving to do things in the future and there is no guarantee how long your going to have. We decided the first thing we were going to do when she was cancer free was take the kids to Disney for a week. During treatment we planned the trip with military precision investing many weeks planning everything. The only point of contention was where to stay. DW wanted Beach club and I wanted a moderate, cause cancer or no cancer, I'm still cheap. We eventually compromised and stayed at Beach Club. After all, this was a once in a lifetime trip, I wouldn't have to pay this much again. Skip ahead to 8 months later and we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge for a week. Doh!
This January DW and I went to WDW for 4 days with some friends for Marathon weekend. (there is nothing like the look on your child's face when you tell them you're going to Disney World......without them.) The trip was awesome and we are already planning next years marathon weekend. I am planning on doing goofy next year, because hey its a goofy t-shirt and 3 medals. In order to make it up to the kids we are taking them on the Dream on the 24th of this month. They don't know it yet but we are going to the parks for a couple of days too.

Ohhh, DW is cancer free now and she speaks to young woman about what to expect if they get diagnosed with cancer. She's pretty awesome cause the cancer card would pretty much trump anything I could use in an arguement but she never uses it.

Wow... quite the introduction! Cancer free!! Woohoo!! That's cause for celebration for sure. Welcome to our little club... you are member # 566! :thumbsup2

Good point, we were trying to go the inexpensive route though. :rotfl:

And by the way, nice write up over on the DIS Dads website.

They found a similar brain controlling parasite in human males. It does not effect all males, just some and it does not kill them. It simply controls their actions.....its called a wife.

And while we're on this theme,

Sure wish I could get DISDads.com to display at work... I REALLY want to hear this podcast! And one day I would like to participate in one :cool1: Does anyone know how large the podcast file is? Is it something that could be emailed? (I don't want to wait until I get home! :rotfl2:). No... I can't get to iTunes either... stupid firewall :headache:

Congrats!

I think it is just at Christmas. But how about a nice dinner and then renting a boat to watch the fireworks? (407-WDW-PLAY) They pick right up from the dock at the Grand Floridian and the Comtemporary. Or just watch the fireworks from the beach of the Polynesian?
