Ok here I am in a dilemma....long story .....Ok when I came home from are last trip my wife booked are next trip....and it was all simply, but we forgot to send in the deposit...so are reservation canceled. so we rebook it and let me tell you booking for ten ppl is alote of work it probably takes over an hour every time I call...so we send the money in but never heard anything back form then...so in the beginning of the month my wife wanted to pay off some of the balance....and here we go they never received are money...so it canceled again...so now they are telling her we are off the free dinning plan...and with size party free dining is the way to go....so she was on the phone I guess two hours:lmao:.....worked it all out thank god...so here we go again we go to add deluxe dinning...the lady said it was 1900 and my total jumped higher then I expected to be so I told here that me and my wife have to talk about it...so we did and we called back and the gentlemen told it was 1500 I was like even better...added it.... So we sit there plan all or dinners for three hours...to find out I have to.."HAVE TO" pay 18 percent gratuity...I am all about tipping but trying to be forced to...I was ok we go to a charter meal and cost 300 for hot dogs and french fries and now I have to pay 60 dollars for a tip...or go to a buffet and pay 55 that's is not fitting well in my stomach....so we re-plan everything again for about an hour....for the place we really want to go for dinner.....I mean I might sound a little up tight but if you add those kinds of tips up for my trip I will be paying about 1700 out in tips...so all said down we where off to bed when a lady called and said the messed up are cost he ran us as using the mid pack edge...and she said we would have to pay 3000 for dd dinning...I nearly s... myself....so we were both back and forth saying your wrong,,,so she and my wife start adding the cost up... my wife came to 1900....she came back a would not stop saying she was sorry she muffed up....and for are inconvenience we got VIP passes to see eliminations sounds good right...I guess for dealing with them for so many hours...I literally can say I probably talked to the same ppl at least twice.....So here I am do you think it is worth the money to up grade to deluxe dinning or just sit back for some free food>>> sorry for the rant and raving.

I got this page!
well I do have an opinion on this! we have done the deluxe dining, regular dining, and the quick service even with the regular dining even with our teens we could not eat all the food. the quick service dinig is good but you have to pay out of pocket for table service meals. we opted for the quick service still had meals left and we spend $240 out of pocket for table service meals. we are going again in June with quick service..

Dude.. sit back and enjoy the free lunch..

as far as the "have to pay gratuity.. when I took my family to crystal palace for lunch on the deluxe dining plan.. this waitress brings me the bill and says.. "You have to pay this" it was gratuity.. I was uhhhm not happy to say the least.. I would have payed her my standard 20% but she was telling me I was going to pay this.. so with my wife holding me back.. my kids looking at me like I was about to rip someones arm off... I took a breath and payed her the 18% she told me I have to pay..

the deluxe dining used to include tip but not anymore.. not worth it to me at all..

Eagles fan? I live in Philly and dont claim them :rotfl:

Well I know we don't have too many Red Wings fan's here but we had a really nice day today so I thought I would share a couple pics. The Wings had a fan day at Joe Louis and we were able to tour the locker room, get photo ops, meet some of the broadcasters, etc...All in all it was a great day!

Hey great meeting you Stopher...
Christian, we were at the Boardwalk as well, and loved it!
Have you been there before? The closeness to both Epcot and HS was awesome!

I have just made reservations for the fantastic dinner for in June..deal is you need to book it, they take a cc# but do not charge if you show up..you get your choice of 3 restaurants I believe...we have mama melrose, and you get an appetizer with your dining plan..and VIP seating for the show, no need to wait in line for an hour or so.....

Yes you can use the DP, & reserved is included. We have not done this show but looked into it for this trip. We decided not to do this show yet. My 8 yr old is a little sensitive to loud noise and strong visuals. I have heard that it is great so have fun!!!!!!!!!!

Did it last time we were there and it was cool. Got 2nd row seating in the reserved section. 5 minute walk-in, instead of the hours wait.

We did it back in 1997 and our experience was about the same as Stopher. We had a Linner and then went back to the filling station a 8PM. It was still worth it. We wouldn't have waited in the lines to see it otherwise.

Thanks for the info guys:thumbsup2 I think I have found my 6th ADR, with the VIP seating it would be foolish not to try it out:yay: Think we'll try Hollywood & Vine.

Hello! I wish I would have found this thread a long time ago.. I thought I was the only father that was obsessed openly with Disney World.

My name is Carl and I will tell you guys how A mouse snuck into my brain, then into my heart.

They say it all started with a Mouse.. with me it all started with an easy way to get my whole vacation planned, paid for and forgotten.
In 2007 I wanted to surprise my beautiful, wonderful, young at heart, wife with a vacation. (the kids were leaving for the summer so...) I got to thinking about what she likes.. what she doesnt like. she doesnt like sitting on the beach soaking up the rays.. she doesnt like dance clubs or mosquitos.. hmmmm.. I always liked log cabins.. so I did research on the web. "log cabins" after pages and pages I see Wilderness Lodge. "sweet, where is that?" Disney World.. They have roller coasters, my wife loves roller coasters. "Is it as big as that Busch gardens in Williamsburg?" yes. and it may be a little bigger than that.. ( dont laugh! I just didnt know) The most I have heard about Disney is the famous quotes.. I'm going to Disney World! I know you have all heard that.. almost as famous as "WHAS UUUUP":rotfl2:
I am rambling here... Sorry. I called up Disney.. they suggested the deluxe dining plan. didnt suggest ADR's.:scared1: sure sign me up.

I am all business type of guy sure I laugh and joke but I am the pessimistic
type. My wife is the optimistic type "that guy with the gun isnt gonna hurt anyone" me "I reach for my wallet" Funny how opposites attract. anyway we arrive at the orlando airport and I see this line a mile long at the "magical express" (here we go start of our first relaxing vacation, another blank blank line Just like I expected!) I paid all this money for a line to stand in.. The Wife "the line is moving pretty fast":rotfl:
I check in there and here is this 70 year old Moron standing there with a stuffed animal on his hand waving at me to get on a bus! WHAT THE BLANK? What have I gotten us into.. this trip did not include kids. (or so I thought:lmao:)

We get on the bus. now here is Mickey Donald Goofy on a television telling me all about the "best kept secret". great, I have done this before. Just an hour of your time and you get a Certificate for free dinner" Timeshare AHHH I paid all this money and I am going to get a pitch for a timeshare!

We arrive at Wilderness Lodge. The look on my wifes face was the most awestruck little kid look that I have ever seen.. the people were nice the resort was beautiful. The worry wrinkles and the stress of Raising teens was melting away the minute she walked in into the lobby. "ohh its soo pretty" she says. Im thinking "where is that little weasle that wants "just an hour of my time" :rotfl2: he never showed up.

Whats the first thing a first timer wants to see when going to Disney? Magic Kingdom thats what. Gotta ride a boat.. hmm not so bad. we get there and I notice this crowd going through the turnstiles.. I am thinking I will wait on the boat launch bench, go ahead I will be right here when you are done with that MOUSE.. My wife "come on honey, the line is moving pretty fast":lmao:

The stress and pessimistic attitude slowly dissapeared as the Mouse started soaking in. we were two adults that slowly became two teenagers with discoveries around every corner. I bought her Pal Mickey, (he is Kind of cute) we went to cindarella castle and there was a sword in the stone. I am man I get that out of there.. nope not me.. My wife says step aside.. let mickey do it. pal mickey grabs the sword.. what happens? it rises from the stone just as those kodak people were snapping photos of us! (bought the CD) With the transformation complete. I am 16 she is 15 and we are running through the park looking for our next ride or ice cream cone or greasy french fry.

we were hooked on Disney. ("best kept secret" be uhhm darned!)

our first trip.. at Epcot.

I forgot what my lawn looks like, haven't seen it since Dec 26, On the parts of the lawn that didn't get snow piled on, I'm down to about a foot, I still have 4-5ft walls of snow on both sides of the driveway, one good thing the grass will have plenty of water this year by the time it melts:lmao:

:scared1: i dont know how you do it.24 plus inches.:scared1:

You might find out this time Dave, I've been hearing this one could blast us (main word is could, weathermen are not right most of the time, and live on drama:confused3) I've also heard we could get up to 2ft (again the big word here is could:lmao:)

First off, wanna say WELCOME to the newbies. Great place to hang out and talk, um, shop.

Beautiful day here in NC today. A small group of us took our bikes (manual bikes, not motorcycles...:thumbsup2) out for the first ride of the year, a 20 miler up into the mountains of NC. Had a first for me on the first ride of the year; a blowout of my rear tire about 1 mile from the finish. Luckily, we were going uphill at the time, but the sound of the blowout about made me do unmentionable bodily functions in my cycling shorts :lmao: It was so loud that the 2 guys that were about a hundred yards in front of me heard it and turned around to help me change out the tube. No crashes, this time, but I can sure see, if you are moving fast enough on your bike, how a blow out would send you to the ground in a hurry. So, it's off to the bike shop one day this week for a couple of repairs and a new tire (the blast ripped the part of the tire away that holds the tire to the rim; it held together for the last mile or so today).

Hope all of you in the way of the storm are safe and don't have all of that yucky ice.

Yes a blowout can send you flying, when I was a teenager with my BMX Mongoose, I did a jump and my front tire blew when I landed, sent me flying over the handlebars, I was beat up pretty good, but looking back at it now, it was probably pretty funny:lmao:

Wife informed me this weekend that our 2012 trip will be in June during the Star Wars event:yay: How can I say no to that:confused3

Wife informed me this weekend that our 2012 trip will be in June during the Star Wars event:yay: How can I say no to that:confused3

I think if you actually wanted to say no, the appropriate wording would be:

"Go during weekend of Star Wars, I do not want"

However, I believe that you actually want to go during said weekend so :thumbsup2:cool1:
