You're not retiring to Disney?! :scared1: We'll miss you, but will be sure to post frequent updates on The DIS Dad's Club MCXIII page.

Oh no, Florida is the retirement plan still (18 years, 192 days, but who's counting:confused3).

DW is an only child and her folks retired there and bought a place, so someday we will have a "Mediterranean Vacation Villa". Nice place to visit but I'd end up strangling a local if I had to deal with them for more than a month or two a year.

Wasn't jumping on that bandwagon at all...the situation is FAR too complicated than that...

Oh no, wasn't implying you hopping on. You know all too well the kind of well rounded, stable environment you get when you raise generation after generation in a bubble in these countries. About 12 years ago they sent me for French immersion training to a remote area of Quebec where 95% of the locals couldn't speak a word of English; even all the TV stations were French only. I told them that as soon as the internet took hold they were screwed because as soon as the kids found out what the rest of the world was really like they would be the end of their way of life as they knew it.
I think that is basically what is taking hold over there but it will still be generations before the elders die off and you get kids that were raised "semi-normal" who grow up and seek positions of power.

They do a lot of F 18 overhaul/refurbishment here....there's a Static Blue Angel jet at the Yorktown entrance, and there's a "history of Naval aviation" display just inside the gate, so it makes sense....

I saw it sitting on the stands in a hangar this morning....felt a little sorry for it:confused3

Maybe it's just getting a little well-deserved R and R!:thumbsup2

You guys really did a great job! I for one am not that creative.. So the lurker(my wife) wanted to know why I haven't done something like this for her.:headache: it's alright she liked the toenail clippers I bought her for her 30th. For her 40th I am going all out! I will get her nose trimmer and a corncob backscratcher..:rotfl2:

Uh oh, sounds like we may need to pull up the old dog house pictures that are on one of the previously locked threads because carlnix is probably gonna need on with those types of presants :lmao:

Speaking of retirement, when I decide to hang it up, I wanna drive a bus for Disney. Good thing is I am officially on the downhill slide to retirement. Bad thing is I'm still very close to the top of the hill :rotfl2:

I also spoke about our washer and dryer a few weeks ago and the fact that they were working their way toward their last days. Well, new ones will be delivered tomorrow; found a good President's Day sale this past weekend and pulled the trigger. Now I can say to my wife, "woman, get in there and wash some clothes." Well, really I can't because I like living too well........

Carl and I had a little wager riding on the Super Bowl. Since the Packers beat the Steelers, I dined tonight on fresh pierogies, courtsey of DisneyDadC!

He sent a few varieties. Here I'm frying up some Cottage Cheese & Chive

And here is yours truly, enjoying the fruits of the Packer's labor:

Thanks again, Carl. They were delicious! Bambi even enjoyed them, and she's not the most adventurous when it comes to new food.

And Brian - I haven't forgotten about that pizza from the NFC Championship game. :goodvibes

Has anyone who visits Youtube, ever seen any of the Chad Vader :darth: Day Shift Manager, I saw it a couple of years ago, there were only 4parts then, I checked it out last night and it's into season 3:confused3

Yes these are great! Have you checked out Star Wars meets the Princess Bride? They did an amazing job.

Lous wow you are making me want to make a trip there by just mentioning it. Lous and ginos are my favorite. Can't go wrong with either of them.

Mmmmmmm - Gino's East.

Looks like we're all set for tomorrow's test run at the DIS Dads Podcast. After a couple of near misses, I found a software combination that looks like its going to work to record this thing. Big thanks to prattpak for running several tests with me tonight!

Looks like you got then nice an golden brown:thumbsup2.But only cooking ten?????:confused3 I would have cooked all 3 doz!!!!!Your team earned them for you! however I must say, I wish I was eating some cheese instead of you eating pierogies.:sad2:Did you choke on any?????:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:I tput in a request for extra special ones.!!!
In all seriousness I am glad you liked them,Looks like the kids liked em, they are reaching for yours lol

:rotfl2:
By the look of Madison's hand reaching for that pierogie, you might have a budding Steelers fan there! Or was she the Bears fan? I recall eating alot of pierogies when we lived in Chicago.

I think you might be reading too much into that. My interpretation of that picture is that Dad just isn't willing to share.:rotfl2::lmao:

So... My DW and I sat through a presentation on Saturday night where our friends were trying to get us to join into a travel company that is supposed to make us money. This company has a web site that offers discounted vacation packages all over the world. After listening to the spiel for 45 minutes, DW asks the presenter if the have discounts on Disney, too (no prompting from me, either!)... and she said Yes, they did. But then couldn't find the actual discounts on the site. Anyway... after it was all said and done and we were walking out the door, DW turns to me and punches me in the arm. "What was THAT for?" I ask. "Because... now all I can think about is how good DVC sounds right now." :lmao::lmao:

FYI... the "company" my friends were trying to sell us turns out to be a pyramid scheme. We said No thanks. They have since canceled their "membership"... can't believe they had no idea it was a pyramid scheme! But then again, we've sat through Amway presentations before :rolleyes1 :headache:

Yikes! :scared1: If it sounds too good to be true...

That's funny! This is a good site for that stuff, too:

There's a whole section on Zombie stuff, Fed!

My personal favorite, "You're a good friend, but if the zombies chase us, I'm tripping you."

Sorry about not helping out last night. I didn't realize that you would do a test and I left the headphones in, so I didn't here the ring on skype.:headache: By the time I got back to the computer you were gone.
I am ready for tonight's podcast if you need me!

:scratchin I kind of surprised Carl didn't send Pork Roll, :confused3, but then again it's a food that might not make it to the Post Office:stir::rolleyes1

Hello fellas !

I just joined the disboards, but have been reading them for awhile. I stumbled across your dad's group and had to try and join.

I am from Missouri, I have 5 kids. a 7 year old girl, 4year old boy girl twins and 1 year old identical twin girls. Yep back to back sets! We stay busy, and get lots of funny looks when we get out all the strollers at the mall.

Took them all to Disney for the first time 3 weeks ago, and are planning our return trip this november ( if I can talk the little woman into it).:yay:

Anyway thanks for letting me in (hopefully)
