I just noticed I surpassed 5000 posts today. While I don't have a meaningful speech prepared, I just wanted to say thank you to all the dad's on this thread. We all come from different backgrounds, locations, religions, races, etc and we all get along in here. We are able to agree and to disagree and see others points of view without the 'drama' that you see on other threads on this, and other, boards. This is a great place and support group for all the great things going on in our lives and also for the hard parts of life. I've only had the opportunity to meet 1 Dad on this thread- just so happens to be my nemesis, funny how that works- but I do look forward to meeting more of you guys. Hopefully in December! If anyone is in or around CT, shout me a holler!

Been a very busy day today, but just checked in and read some of the replies to my post asking advice yesterday.

I think it reassured me that my thinking is basically on track, and you've given me some other things to consider which is exactly what I had hoped for.

That's good to know. We're planning on going down the week after Thanksgiving 2011. We're DVC @ BCV, but given the time of year we don't think we'll have much use for the pool and were looking to maximize points by staying in a 1BR at OKW or BWV.

The park densities you describe are also similar to the week following Labor Day.

week after thanksgiving is a good week also. christmas decs are up and the crowds are low. we have been staying at okw for 11 years, we just got hooked on the place and call it home. in 2012 dw and i are in 1 bedroom at bwv. were gonna give bwv a try. our dd is a senior in hs this year so after this june, high school and dance will be over. she will be off to school and work and she loves the beach so i have a feeling its dw and i for awhile. okw is nice, quiet. i get up every morning around 5 am and go for a walk around the resort. get the newspaper. not alot of action but if your looking for a quiet place, okw is it.

Taht video of Phanton Regiment was great...they have such fantastic sound!! The video from '88 of the Madison Scouts you posted I rememer. In fact, my senion year ('85) Malguena was part of our show and I loved it!...We won everything we went to that year....ahhh...such great memories and fun! Non band people will NEVER understand!!!

ok...I can tell yoiu from first hand experience that jersey week is HORRIBLE!!!! Now, with that being said...what is this Pop Warner that you speak of and how does it effect the crowds...I am fearful that might be when I am there this year!!

I've been at WDW during Jersey week twice, It was not too bad, but then again I know what to expect, how they will act, I can sit there and almost tell you thier next move, They will be loud, texting , cutting lines, and rude, no one else is there except them, I live at the shore, I see it all summer long, I can't wait to move to VA in 8yrs

I think they also may be carriers of dread disease. When I was there during Jersey week I came down with a wicked stomach flu about the forth day there and stayed in bed for the next three days.

I live 15mins from a 6 flag park, I won't go there anymore, I get PO'd within a few mins with unruley nonsense, I'll drive 6 hrs to go to Busch Gardens, or Kings Dominion, since it's not a day trip 75% won't go there

Down in WDW during Jersey week, it's almost like going to the boardwalk here in the summer, walk around them, give attitude back, don't back down if you get into a arguement, ignore them, if one cuts you in line (yo, line starts back there buddy)
