Great to see a "Man's Club" here at DisBoards! It's been over a year since our last trip and the finances are preventing one for a while!! We're gonna have to bank our points from our remaining DVC contract (HH). We had three and have sold two over the last two years. Youngest just went off to college (Northwestern - Evanston) and our oldest is still working on her degree. I wish I lived in Florida and could visit the 'World' whenever I wanted!

My wife and I, while our kids were growing, took our family to Disney (and Disneyland) every year (sometimes more than once/year). We wouldn't change a thing.

Looking forward to being a part of some good discussions here.

Later,

Welcome aboard...it is great to see another buckeye on the boards!!:cool1: We are also on Facebook if you have that up and running on your computer!

Just posted an update to my TR.

Have a great weekend everyone...now off to the corn!!!!

Crud to the 3rd power!

Well it's National Customer Service Week, so it's the one week a year when my team goes from unappreciated donkeys who are looked down on by the rest of the IT staff and executives to.......well......pretty much the same thing with a banner on the wall.

Tack onto that budget meetings where half of the line items are blacked out because "I don't need to know about that item" (ie were cutting your staff) and getting asked in the middle of the 5 hour budget meeting "Did you get the employee reviews gone I asked for this morning?" when I've been sitting beside the person who asked for them since 9:00 when he said it!!!!!!

Also my director mandated that today I hand write notes to everyone on my team telling them how much I appreciate their effort this year, even the 3 of them that I had to write up this week for poor performance!

Don't they have enough footage yet!? When will the jackwad in a trucker hat pop into the room and tell me I've been punked!

</rant>

Only 2 hours and 15 minutes until I go pick up the boy at the bus stop. It's hilarious to think the only thing that kept me going through this week is that were going to Lowe's tomorrow to build a kids project where he will repeatedly hit my hand with a hammer.

You don't work for my company, do you? I have my one on one meeting with my boss in 40 minutes and I'd like to stay employed at least until I get back from Disney.

It's good to have something to look forward to! Ibuprofin and ice for EVERYONE!

Crud.

I've had clients in town for the past couple of days and I've been busy keeping them happy. (I hope)

Also we're taking the kids to the local state park this weekend for some hiking / fun in the woods so I'm sure come Monday night I'll be hunting for DDC-VI.

I've been able to sneak a peek at Facebook so I saw Barry's son took a header. Glad to hear he's doing OK.

And to all the Canadian Dads have a great Thanksgiving Weekend!

Just a few quick notes before I head up to Appleton for the funeral this weekend.
Ian - those are some mighty fine markings your boy has there. Hopefully I'll get the chance later this weekend to post some pics here for those that didn't get to see them on Facebook.

Regarding the weekly Football Yahoo Pick 'em contest: I can't do any worse on my own, so I've solicited my 5 year old daughter to make the picks for me. I will give her the team names, she picks the winner. However, I have to explain some of the too her. For example, for Bengals, I say tigers. Well, the Texans are playing the Giants. I explained "Texans" as "Cowboys". Then a few games later, I see the Cowboys are playing the Titans. How do you explain what a Titan is? Yup, a Giant. So there are 2 Giants vs Cowboys games this weekend. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Have a great weekend everyone. I know I'm behind on this thread and the TRs, but feel free to insert your own witty and inane comments. I'll get back to reading them pretty soon and insert my own comments that will probably not live up to your exceedingly high expectations of me. :confused3 :lmao:

Nope, no Ian's on my list. Good luck on the one on one!

:lmao:

So, how consistent is she??? Did she like the Giants or the Cowboys or did she pick one of each???? :rotfl2::lmao:

Oh... and how did the explanation of the spread go?

There are a few other descriptions that could have been interesting too... Browns, Bills, Packers, 49ers....

Had a nice morning at Hollywood Studios. Checked in now at the Swan. Wife and kids have been napping for the last 2 1/2 hours. I think I'll let them sleep another 1/2 hour, in hopes that it improves the staying power for MNSSHP tonight.

Sorry to hear about DS's fall Barry. I had one like that as a junior in high school - defender slid under me on a drive to the basket playing basketball. I caught my hip on his shoulder, did like I was taught and got a shot up to the rim, and broke the fall with my left eye. The thing swelled shut for a month. It was so nasty looking, my teachers allowed me to wear sunglasses in class so that it wouldn't gross them out.

I'll do you one better. On 4/22/06 we were at the grocery store and Caleb, my beloved 6 yr old son, was riding on the bottom of the cart because riding inside it seemed pedestrian. We objected to it but decided that if he was ever to learn anything he'd have to fail a few things. We expected him to slide out or that his chest would hurt from lying on the metal bars once we hit the parking lot. Yeah... what's that about the best laid plans? So, we hit the parking lot and I run into an invisible (I had to get on the ground to see it) black bump on the asphalt which stopped the cart cold and sent my son flying (literally) out from the cart into a curb, head first.

The flash doesn't really do it justice so here's a better pic with the highlight from the flash removed:

After debating taking him to the hospital (we had no insurance), and since it was pretty early in the day, we opted to watch him for signs of a concussion or of other brain injuries. You know, outside of those that come naturally from having a 6 yr old boy. He was perfectly fine, though now embossed and sporting a wicked shiner, and now he will never, EVER ask to ride on the bottom of a cart.

Oh, and I have a great story to tell people to keep their kids from doing the same.

*sigh*
:scared1: wow, not only road rash but he had one heck of a knot on his head. its amazing when your that small how you seem to just bounce.

I didn't know we had an office in North Carolina.

No wonder Scott Adams is a millionaire.

only two days to go? hows the sleeping been goin lately? when i get down to 2 days i sleep about 4 hours a day.:lmao:

Not much especially since we have to be packed and ready to go tomorrow night. Since it is an early morning flight.

On another note I called Disney to see about changing the room on the last night and they told me SSR is sold out. It sounds like it is going to be crowded.

It sounds as thought we are in for a crowded time. I thought that was supposed to be a slower week LOL. Did I read someplace that Thurs and Fri of the week I am there...(12/2 and 12/3) are when they are taping the Christmas Day parade at MK...if so I am sure that will be a busy place to. Might have to do Universal on those days LOL
