Good Idea. I wish they would let you put the time in that your flight takes off.

I am thinking of embarrassing the DW in the airport and wearing my ears here in Houston when we are leaving. Although I have a feeling she would pull hers out and join me.

Been a decent day here...everyone is on the mend and improving...thanks for the thoughts and prayers during the last few weeks...To have never met any of you guys face to face it is odd that you have all become such a part of our lives here...part of the daily routine is seeing what you guys are into on facebook as well as here...

Lauren had another field trip with the pre school today and they went to Heritage Farm which is a replica of an old town with cabins, stores, churches...all kinds of nice stuff to let you see how things were back in those days. Nana and Pap went along with the group today since Shari and I were not up to it. Laruen loved it...the girls was milking a cow, gathering eggs, and got kissed by a LLama among other things. (not sure how a LLama fit into the farm thing). I wish Nana's camera was working so we cold have gotten some nice pictures...I thinking of sending her to Wisconsin to work for Barry milking cows...you got chickens too Barry??

We also ate several bowls of cheddar cheese soup and some poutine from Daddy-O's restaurant, eh?

The Eagles are killing you? Imagine what it's like to be a fan watching this train wreck! :scared1:

If anyone is interested in one of these sets go to your local Dis Store to see if you can still preorder one, they only get a few per store, so they should be gone pretty quick:eek:

Nope, not chickens. Just cows. Plenty of them to milk, though.

Ahh, another interesting day in the FreezinRafiki household. I had the day off and DW got home from work early. We walked the 6 blocks to DDs school to pick her up. We got there a little early, so DS was playing on the monkey bars. Next thing you know, that darn gravity takes over again and he falls. Unfortunately, his forehead broke his fall. Blood started gushing everywhere. I whipped my tshirt off to wrap around his head to stop the bleeding. DW ran him into the nurse's office where they took one look and called 911. I ran home to get the car (the mailman I ran past gave me an odd look). I got there the same time the ambulance did. DD and I followed DW, DS and the ambulance to the hospital. CT scan was fine and 6 stitches later we're on our way to Culvers for hot dogs and ice cream. He did awesome - didn't even flinch when he was getting the stitches. :thumbsup2

So what are they giving you when you preorder TS3? I have many lithograph sets from past movie releases and I would love to add TS3 to the collection. I might just have to run down to the Mall of America this weekend to check it out.

Let it begin! Let it BEGIN!

  • Pack the car
  • Pick up the kids
  • Drop off the dogs
  • Pick up mom
:drive: half way!

I might be a little excited...

Did they stitch it to look like a lighting bolt? :wizard:

I'm glad Evan is doing ok.

FED: I already said that on Facebook! :lmao: Barry's wife had no comment for me. She probably had plenty for Barry, though. Something along the lines of: "Why do you let that moron from Delaware comment, anyway?"

My son also stopped a fall with his face at one point and had to go to the ER for stitches on his chin. The doctor asked if we wanted a plastic surgeon to come in and do it, to minimize the chance of a scar. I told him, "Are you kidding? If anything, try and mess it up a little." :thumbsup2

Awwwh CRUD!
The first week of the month is always an absolute disaster at work. :headache: Once I get home my brain is so fried that I can’t accomplish much of anything useful. I don’t think I’ve posted anything all week and I’m way too far behind to catch up with any of the threads here on the DIS, so I’m going to have to take a mulligan and just start from the last day or so. :sad2:

I see that there are several of y’all leaving for WDW in the next day or so. To that I say: “Peanut bu…” I mean: “Hope y’all have a great trip” (but I’m still jealous ;)).

ClearScreen:
I’m not a member of the fantasy league that you’re running for the DDC, but I got’s to tell you that I enjoy reading you weekly update posts (and the resulting commentary from the rest of the members). You do a good job of making simple stats quite entertaining.

GoHeard
Good to here that things are getting better up that way. I do try to always keep thoughts and prays going for every dad and family that are members here. Hopefully things will calm down a bit for all of us. :goodvibes

Freezin
More hopeful thoughts going your way as well. Your house is do a good long break from trauma. Of course I see that you’ve already encountered more, but I’m very happy to here that your boy is doing fine. The first set of stitches are pretty much a rite of passage for guys. With most boys, there will surely be a few more to follow (a fact that just makes the moms out there cringe to think about ).

We’ll that’s enough for now I guess. I’ll be happy to get this work week behind me. The weekend should be interesting though. The church band has an early service Sunday, and my boy’s school has another marching competition Saturday. As such, the whole household has a ton of work ahead of us, but it’s worth it. I’d ask you to wish us luck tomorrow, but luck ain’t got nothin’ to do with it. If they’re ready, they’ll rock the house. If not, they go back to the practice field and start over (but I got a pretty good felling about this one).

(Hey! Page 197… Owned!)

I'll do you one better. On 4/22/06 we were at the grocery store and Caleb, my beloved 6 yr old son, was riding on the bottom of the cart because riding inside it seemed pedestrian. We objected to it but decided that if he was ever to learn anything he'd have to fail a few things. We expected him to slide out or that his chest would hurt from lying on the metal bars once we hit the parking lot. Yeah... what's that about the best laid plans? So, we hit the parking lot and I run into an invisible (I had to get on the ground to see it) black bump on the asphalt which stopped the cart cold and sent my son flying (literally) out from the cart into a curb, head first.

The flash doesn't really do it justice so here's a better pic with the highlight from the flash removed:

enhanced_caleb_head.jpg

After debating taking him to the hospital (we had no insurance), and since it was pretty early in the day, we opted to watch him for signs of a concussion or of other brain injuries. You know, outside of those that come naturally from having a 6 yr old boy. He was perfectly fine, though now embossed and sporting a wicked shiner, and now he will never, EVER ask to ride on the bottom of a cart.

Oh, and I have a great story to tell people to keep their kids from doing the same.

*sigh*
