If what we said in our brains counted, none of us would have ever lost an argument with our wives.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I was tossing ideas around in my head since Fed complained about this on Facebook this afternoon. Welcome home Fed, indeed!

Nice Photo Chop!! I think sooner or later, we’ll all have to submit a pic to “The Choper”

Isn't that the truth. My DD is just turning 11 and she and her mom are already beginning to have some pretty serious disagreements. Of course for now the sending to her room, grounding, etc. easily settles most disputes. I think she knows she gets "more flies with honey" when it comes to Dad. She seems to go head to head with Mom and it escalates quickly.

There’s something about girls that drives them to directly confront their mothers and purposely pick the largest fight possible (My DW did that same thing as did her sister), but they always seem to patch everything up in their twenty’s and usually end up becoming inseparable buddies and allies against the rest of the world. But the trip to that place is a long and hard road.

The wind is almost unearthly. It drives the rain almost horizontally and forces it into every crevice until the structure fails.

We’ve actually been through two hurricanes. We got chased us out of Garden City by Bonnie in 1998 (which cut a big chunk out of our week at the beach that year). That storm saw us spending the first night in the hallways of Conway high school (which to this day we still refer to as the “Conway Hilton”). We were the only one’s smart enough to bring a small TV and several Disney movies (needless to say, we had quite a nice little group of young’ens gathered ‘round our corner of “B-Hall”).

But... Our real experience with those bad boys came in 1989 when Hugo came ashore between McClellanville and Surfside Beach. That one blew the glass doors out of our second row condo and soaked every inch of the interior (but it was minor compared to what happened to the building on the front row). That monster was so large and had so much power that when it made it 180 miles inland and smacked directly into Charlotte, it was still nearly a Category-2 storm. The damage was absolutely unbelievable. We watch the tracks pretty closely now and have much respect for their power, but it’s been a while since one took a left at SC (and I fear we’re just about due).

I'm about 1.5 miles inland, waves the last couple of days have been rough, so far no one is worried about the storm (they are saying it will be about 200miles offshore) In the 41 years that I have lived in the area the direct coastline is the only spot that has really had a problem, the area I live in the coastline is a island, surrounded by a bay then the edge starts to go above sea level, so luckily there is alot to absorb high water.

Until I can sit in the drivers seat with a cage in it, I'm holding off judgement. Although, all the new vehicles in 2011 all appear to be smaller than the Crown Vic. :scared1: And seeing how I am cramped in my crown vic, I'm not looking forward to smaller cars. At least my crown vic is a 2010 so I have at least 4-5 years before I am given a new car, hopefully!!

I miss my Crown Vic...though my Trailblazer is (was) pretty good for what I need....apparently I have a new car...I swear if I have a hybrid, I will lose it:mad::mad:

What a terrific day! Today, I have been married for 10 years (happily for 2).:

You mean she was happy for two?:confused3:lmao:

Although if we said everything in our brains, we wouldn't be married for too long. :

No truer words have been said in a loong time....:rotfl2:

"You never listen to anything I say." Her response: "If I listened to half of what you say, we'd be divorced."
:lmao::rotfl2:

:lmao:

Bracing for Barry's photoshopping. Consider it a welcome home, Fed!

15 more days to my living room...10 to Kuwait..:woohoo:

Well with they way the commander in cheif is on cleaner burning cars and gas mileage, maybe you'll get a Chevy Volt or a Toyota Prius!!!!! I could see it now, you trying to figure out how to load all your gear in one of those.:lmao::scared1::lmao:

:eek: Big Bird ate Chris! I can't believe I never saw this episode before! :lmao:

On a sad, but interesting note... I got an email this evening. Seems that for some unknown reason, Carnival has decided to cancel the cruise we booked for April 28th, 2011. Very strange. I called the Carnival rep that booked our cruise and he no idea what happened. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. Sure glad I didn't have any other reservations made :sad2:

Well, that stinks. Sorry, dude.

Now you'll have to find something else to do in Florida. :idea:

Can't we just fast-forward to that point?

Hmmmm....his name is Big Bird, huh? What are the odds of that? :rotfl2:

Well, at least we know the high speed pursuits have to end at 40 miles. You know, when your battery dies!

:eek: Big Bird ate Chris! I can't believe I never saw this episode before! :lmao:
Sadly, that's what made the letter L pull his sponsorship of the show. He didn't agree with all of the sex and violence that the Children's Television Workshop had to put in to stay competitive in the ratings.

Thanks for he the birthday wishes, guys. I guess at 32, it's all downhill from her, huh?

:eek: Big Bird ate Chris! I can't believe I never saw this episode before! :lmao:

Well, he isn't call BIG BIRD for nothing! Worms surely aren't the only things in his diet to help him get so big :lmao:

Oh lookie - I've hit another milestone post... only 1,111 more until the next similarly, nearly matching post

I wanted a prius BAD several months ago.. my wife refused to let me seriously look into it.. she said it would be bad for my image as a football coach...

Barry, :welcome: to 32!!!!!!!!!!
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: :dance3: popcorn::popcorn:: :dance3: :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I can only take you being 32 for 2 months though, then I will move on to greener pastures, as I will soon be {insert The Jefferson's theme song here} :rolleyes1 'Movin' on up' :rolleyes1 to 33! :sad2:

Yeah, the stupid thing would be dragging in the back.....:mad::mad:

Hopefully it doesn't happen...I'm OK with the new Taurus, as long as it has a V6...:thumbsup2

Dude.....:headache::headache::lmao::lmao:

Just sayin'....

I liked the "techie" stuff with the Prius when it first came out.. to me it seemed like a big toy to see how much milage you could get out of one tank of gas.. but thanks to my wife and friends.. I've come to fall in love again with my gas guzzling 12 MPG Nissan Frontier, with all of it's V6 pep. Oh and one more thing.. did I mention it is PAID OFF :yay:

I hope I dont get kicked off this thread for this but Im going to suggest a book to read to all the Dads with daughters. No it doesnt have pictures but the author typed it slowly becuase he knew Dads cant read fast. It's call Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters. Great book! Will help you understand the Mom/ daughter relationship and yours as well.

Please forgive me, we now return to your regulary scheduled jabbing!

Does a Hermit crab train in the off season? Do they ever pull a hammy? Or get a pulled groin?

Congrats to you guys Commando!!

Congrats! And I was going to mention the timing of Big Bird, but Barry with his quick wits and keen eye quickly caught that one :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Funny you should say that. I wasn't able to tell DW the news until around 9:30 last night due to open houses at our school (she's PTA president). So the conversation went a little like this:

:happytv:

Me: "Honey, I have some bad news to tell you."
DW: "Uh oh... what did you do now?"
Me: "I didn't do anything! Seriously! Got an email from Carnival today..."
DW: "And?"
Me: "They cancelled our cruise."
[Dramatic pause]
DW: "What do you mean they cancelled our cruise?? They can't do that! Why did they cancel it?"
Me: "I don't know."
DW: "What do you mean 'you don't know'?"
Me: [silence while DW reads the email from Carnival]
[Another dramatic pause]
DW then looks at me and says: "Well, I guess that's God's way of saying we aren't supposed to go on a cruise then." :sad1:
[My face gets a big smirk :idea:]
DW: "Oh no you don't! You are NOT sucking me in! Seriously?" [She starts laughing]
:banana: So.. guess what site was immediately accessed? :rolleyes1

Funny how these things work out popcorn::

Oh yeah... forgot to say... Earl was a big flop here in Va Beach. Little rain, little wind. Glad he stayed out to sea for the most part, but I'm also a bit bummed by the uneventful conclusion this morning. BUT... mostly happy that we were spared the wrath of hurricane winds.

And ....

party::bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BARRY! :bday:party:

And not a drop of rain in the greater Richmond metro area either. I wasn't looking for a monster like when Isabel rolled through Virginia, but some rain would have been nice. All in all, this was a big non-event.. Kinda like Y2K.

A HA....I knew I wasn't the only one. I've been through Hugo (Direct hit) and Katrina (Direct Hit) and numerous others in Myrtle Beach when I was a Smokey.

I love me a good storm.....I get excited when one gets close to us....DW thinks I'm nuts...but then again, she knows how I am:lmao::lmao:

I will add that I don't wish bad vibes on anyone...I'm just...well, an Adrenaline Junky. Who woulda' figured:confused3. We all have our vices I guess:goodvibes
