Man I have a couple yr old laptop that the ac/dc connector went bad on.The laptop cost around $1600 when I bought it, it was a couple hundred dollars to send it away to be fixed.So I figured I would try to fix the jack myself.Well I got a jack of ebay unsoldered the old one and soldered the new one in. Fantastic everything went great looked like a factory job,I was very impressed with myself!!!! fixed it,it worked and all for less then $7.Well now come time for the CRUD I plugged it in to show my son ( cause I was giving him the laptop)and he got excited.Well now it was time for me to finish assembling the thing. Well stupid me never unplugged the darn thing and I hit the mother board with my screw driver , and guess what? YEP I hit it just right to cause it to spark up and burn out!!!!!! A little spark some smoke and poof .
So needless to say I am very bummed again cause I had it fixed and then stupidity set in.Guess tomorrows job is to try to repair mother board lol.If not I see the screen sells for about $600 on ebay so I guess I will part it out,try to get something back and buy my son a new one.
