Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to reading through the posts once I have my high speed internet back.

Ok Caption Experts....a little fodder for you...:lmao::lmao:

Gentlemen I present to you the latest weapon in the war on terror. Pay no attention to the man on top of the camel, he is merely a decoy, the agent is actually inside the camel operating the controls.

Seriously though Fed, with all the convoy issues you've had this trip, I don't blame you for looking for alternate transportation. Hang in there, a few months and you can trade that camel in for a flying elephant.:cool1::cool1:

Nice picture of Fed minutes before the buyers remorse over the 200 points in the DVC Baghdad contract sets in.

I was just reading online that the wife of former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher passed away from skin cancer. As a Browns fan, I send out my condolences to the Cowher family and to all those in Steeler Nation. In spite of my deep disdain, and extreme hatred for the Steelers, the Rooney's are the class of the NFL and Bill Cowher is a class act as well.

ok guys...got a question for you....when we started our Facebook group a while back.. I don't recall who started it and that person was the only administrator....now they have left and there is NO administrator...do we need to form a new DisDads facebook group with several Admins or what? Thecurrent group is unable to be changed in any way since none of us are administrators...thoughts? ideas? suggestions???

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I was looking for a way to assume admin status since there is no one (I'm on an admin on several different FB pages for work, Scouts, etc already so it was kind of a natural thing)... but alas, no, can't find a way to do it.

Perhaps we need to as you said, start up a new one and move over to that new page instead... :confused3

With all the new Dads out there, I was wondering if any of you will be at WDW in the time frame of Dec 4 - Dec 11:confused3 During The Dis Dads In Dec Trip the more the merrier plus Goofy +3 is buying 1st round:goodvibes:cool1::woohoo:

I posted some possible plans of action for the events on the Dec thread, most are time issues:confused3 Looking for some input, did I leave something out? Also let me know what works best for you. I know for some time & place is not a problem, but I know for some there might be a issue. Just want to get as many Dads as possible included in everything we do.

This was also a day that I wish I had my video camera on at the right moment. The neighbors installed a flag pole in their yard today. Looks really nice. After the flag went up Ethan went over (not realizing that everyone was watching him) and put his hand on his heart and said the Pledge of Allegiance...and then finished off with singing "God Bless America" a the top of his lungs:thumbsup2:rotfl2: Everyone gave him a big cheer when he was done and I think he got embarassed. I was proud of him though!!! The boy knows to respect the Flag!!

We need a like button here. Or this :thumbsup2

I'm new here, sound like a great place to be though. I'll start off with just some basic info. My name is Pat, I currently live in Norfolk, VA, but am orginally from Seattle WA. I'm currently serving in the NAVY and have been for about 10 1/2 years. We have our next trip to WDW next month. The wifey and all 3 kids will be there along with my mom and some friends flying in from Seattle. They've never been, so it's gonna be cool being able to play the touring guide. Can't wait to get off the boat and join the Facebook page. I think that sums it up for now. Everyone take it easy.

Hi Pat and Welcome glad to see another NAV Vet has joined the boards! I was a "Bubblehead" stationed on the USS Jack and USS City of Corpus Christi from 86-92.

I am taking my family down and we are staying at the Pop Century next month so we should be Enjoying the same Florida Heat.:rotfl:

Hmm...VERY interesting. We will be there from Dec 7 - 17. :thumbsup2

Welcome! Another Navy vet here........RM3, NavCommSta Guam, 1971-1975. My son is currently an AO2 stationed in MD but in October he will be joining the Blue Angels as a Crew Chief for 3 years! :cool1:

We should all know how to respect Old Glory! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

6) Participated as a Continental Soldier during the filming of "The Patriot" and as a Confederate Soldier in "Gods and Generals".

Hey, Fed ~ My Navy son is a WWII re-enactor and he has been in a couple of documentaries. He is a member of a German Mountain Troop group based here in PA and MD (I don't think we have a GI group locally). He doesn't have much time for it anymore but he really enjoyed it when he did as they do a lot of living history stuff. He picked the Germans because he thought they have neater weapons. :lmao:

This was taken during the filming of a Lou Reda production about the first night parachute jump by our GIs into Sicily. We got to watch some of the filming for that and it was neat to see how they do the makeup for wounds, and how how they simulated bullets hitting trees by firing dust filled paint balls. He was also in a documentary by Al Roker about the Black Buffalos. He gets killed by a grenade in that one! The uniforms and equipment are really expensive since they have to be very authentic.

I'm currently an AM2 and love my job. I've never been on anything smaller than an aircraft carrier and probably won't either. We had reservations for POP this time, but we decided to us the Armed Forces Vacation Club afvclub.com and are able to stay for 2 weeks for the same price it was gonna be for a week. This is our 3rd year in a row going in Aug, this year shouldn't be to bad for us, cause it's been extremly hot in VA lately, so we'll be used to the heat. I want to thank you both for serving and anyone else out there for your service.

I love watching the Blue Angels, I re-enlisted last year and afterwards I got to fly in Fat Albert, it was the best thing I've ever done, that didn't have to with Disney. I will be going to the airshow here in Sept to watch them.

Yes it does can get pricey...:lmao::lmao:

Grease guns and Mausers (like the one on the ground) get kinda expensive:headache:

Filming scenes of thousands of men with a couple hundred is interesting....everyone lines up and "Charge", then move to the left, line up "Charge"... Move left again, line up "Charge":lmao::lmao:

And for all you guys going to the wolrd during HUrricane season, I give you this

http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/

One of the better hurricane tracking forums I've come across. Lots of Pro Met types...Lots of really talented amatuer trackers. I've used this forum to educate myself on hurricane physics for about the last 3 years...they are usually dead on.

Since we travel in september, It's a big time help in terms of planning.

Enjoy

I'll just miss you guys, I'm flying in on Thanksgiving night and leaving the following Thursday. We are going to a Wedding on Friday night, a family friend and CM is getting married in Celebration, so of course I had to turn it into a Disney vacation.
