ok guys...got a question for you....when we started our Facebook group a while back.. I don't recall who started it and that person was the only administrator....now they have left and there is NO administrator...do we need to form a new DisDads facebook group with several Admins or what? Thecurrent group is unable to be changed in any way since none of us are administrators...thoughts? ideas? suggestions???

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I was looking for a way to assume admin status since there is no one (I'm on an admin on several different FB pages for work, Scouts, etc already so it was kind of a natural thing)... but alas, no, can't find a way to do it.

Perhaps we need to as you said, start up a new one and move over to that new page instead... :confused3

I was thinking the same i had started a new page but never opened it up untill I heard back from the members.Just say the word I will invite and we can have our new home.We can have several admins .:thumbsup2

OK guys we moved our FB page so we can have several admins.:thumbsup2

Please check in with our new home :yay:
Just go to old page and link will be there

So we just got back from "Despicable Me"... man that had some very funny moments. :thumbsup2

Second movie in a month for us. That's the most we've done in years! I love going to the movies, but man they're just so expensive. But thanks to AMC having another $1 any size popcorn & $1 any size drink special today (and when we saw TS3)... plus the regular matinee pricing we got out of there only spending $40 for 5 people instead of what could have been more than $105 (IF we were to all purchase drinks & popcorn instead of sharing as we would normally do). Usually we just wait for stuff to come out on DVD... I mean, really, we have Disney trips to make - can't go spending all of our discretionary $$ on "other" stuff, now can we?!? :rotfl:

I agree Chris!! I told Shari after we say "Despicable Me" that we had not been to the moives this much since we were married...usually only make once or twice a year up until this summer :rotfl2: The prices are high like youi said.. I think I paid 38bucks for all 4 of us to go...thank goodness for kids pricing!! Then we went in and shared a large drink and large popcorn!!! Glad I am not the only one who does that LOL:thumbsup2

I liked going to the movie theaters, but agree, way too expensive. I remember back in college, we had a $1.00 movie theatre that showed previously released movies. Fun and cheap - great for college students and excessive Disney vacationers.

I think you've used the wrong adjective. Allow me to fix that for you with a more appropriately chosen adverb...enthusiastic Disney vacationers.

AMC Theaters - the same chain that operates the Pleasure Island 24. They did it on July 4th, and then again today. Pretty sweet. We normally (when we go) will just get one popcorn to share, and maybe a couple of drinks, if that since a single large popcorn and drink is $12!!! Crazy stuff. Both times now we've been able to ALL get our OWN popcorn and our OWN drink and still only spend $10!! I love it!

Today's deal was emailed to us yesterday as "It's Back!"... so they clearly did robust enough business on the 4th to revisit it. Now if only they would lower their prices regularly to a more reasonable amount, I'm sure we'd see movies more often. But until then, sure, we'll definitely take them up on these kinds of deals.

We have a Carmike cinema in Raleigh near our house, other than matinee prices ($5.25) they have an offer every year where you buy a popcorn bucket for $15.00 which is a bit bigger than a large. For the rest of the year it is only $2.50 to refill it. On Tuesday nights they also have $1.00 kid size drinks and popcorn.

The really cool thing is they also have a discount theater about 10 miles away were all movies are $1.50 that are movies that have been out of the other theaters for a few months (right now they have Disney Oceans and How to Train Your Dragon and 12 others). Since it is also Carmike I can take our refillable bucket so popcorn and tickets for the 3 of us is only $7.00.

We've got one of those discount theaters around here too, but their catch is the movie may only be $2, but they MAKE everyone buy food. Seriously. You go into the theatre, and the theatre seats have all been stripped out and instead their tables like at a restaurant...which this theater is. Cinema Grille they call it, and everyone must order food items off of their menu. The cheapest thing is a side of fries for like $4.50. Plus then the tax and you have to tip since the servers come the table to serve you. It works out being very expensive for a family to hit a movie, not quite as bad as the traditional theaters, but still. Too much. So we typically wait the DVD's come out and either rent them or get them free from the library.

So it appears by our handy-dandy vacation tracker on page 1 that

kalel29 is currently at the World (starting today) staying at POR, and later this week (starting on the 29th) DEA will be staying at BWI. How very cool for both guys and their families. Enjoy!!

Cool:cool1: We have a AMC Loew's Theater about a mile away, I'll have to look into this, Thanks:woohoo:

I found out something at Busch Gardens that surpised me a bit, they will refill the souvenir cups from last year, for the same price, now it might not seem like a big deal, but for 3 people your looking at a $20 saving's, It at least pays pretty much for lunch anyway:lmao: Plus the popcorn buckets were the same as last years:yay: Now at the 6 flags by me they would make you get this years cup:confused3

They do that also here at Kings Island in Cincinnati! They told me when I got them last year that it was good for the lifetime of the cup...now the trick is keeping track of the cup and the lid and the carrier!

We were thinking that we might visit Ohio next year, I think Cedar Point is there:confused3, but DW wants to hit the zoo, Jack Hannah is one of our favorite to meet up with each year, and she wants to check out his home zoo:goodvibes, besides that I don't know any other points of intrest that are in the same areas in Ohio to fill a week:confused3

I'm currently an AM2 and love my job. I've never been on anything smaller than an aircraft carrier and probably won't either.
Ummm....have you been on anything larger than an aircraft carrier? :confused3:rotfl2:

Or you can smuggle drinks and snacks in. Not like I do, but you know, I've heard of it being done.
