Howdy to all Dads out there!!

We made into the DC area and got settled in. The trip up wasn’t too bad. Traffic virtually disappeared once we got north of Durham, but came to a virtual standstill around Fredericksburg. All things considered, it could have been worse, but we all got here in one piece. We’re getting used to getting around up here and decided to spend Father’s Day at Mt. Vernon. I’d never seen the estate before and didn’t know what to expect, but it was worth the trip. I may actually try to write up a proper TR with we get back. For now, I’ll toss out a couple of the better pics. I ain’t the best photographer, and my tools are limited to a fairly simple snap-shot camera, but here’s a few that summed up the day pretty well:

Did you stay at the disney resort in Palmetto Dunes or Shelter Cove? I had no idea there were two different ones. We actualy stayed in a condo in Palmetto Dunes just down from the Disney Property there.

What part of Ohio are you from?

There is actually just the one DVC resort on HHI, in Shelter Cove. It is the beach house that is at Palmetto Dunes...since the resort is on the cove, the beach house gives DVC guests beach access. There is a pool at the beach house and a quick service restaurant as well (and a pool bar).

We live in Wooster, though I went to college in Oxford.

Now that you mention it the Weather....

The truck is very hot...uparmored with A/C that, well, keeps you just below heat exhaustion.

Weaponry...oh yeah, "Rico" and "Louise" are always ready to roll....

just want to thank everyone for there thoughts, well wishes, prayers the last month for dw on here and facebook!!!! shes in some pain but with the good news we got, shes still smiling!! we go back to philly on wednesday for a check up and well go back in a few weeks to find out about the radiation therapy. the radiation is just to kill the noncancerous mass so it wont grow and or spread. if you or anyone you know ever has any problems with there eyes, wills eye hosp. and jefferson univ. hosp. have the best dr.s in the world. with my family members, i spent alot of time in hosp. all over pa and the drs., nurses, aides even the dude who emptied the garbage cans in the rooms couldnt do enough for dw or myself. they treated us like we were family!!! even the local philly retirees sitting in the cafe were cool. they have no idea who you are why your there but if you need an ear man, they were there with hello and, and i quote " aayy, doin ok today buddy??" i miss those guys!!!! i love when the started arguing over the mayor! i never laughed so hard in my life!!!! anyway, thanks again everyone!!!!

Well, my Father's Day started out nice. Got a really cool personalized baseball and tickets to see the Cubs at Wrigley in July. Then it got very, very bad. Went up to the bathroom to take a shower and noticed that, again, one of the kids didn't flush. I flushed and it didn't go down. Long (and disgusting) story short, the plunger didn't work, so I actually had to remove the toilet and clean it all out manually.
It got better though. Mini golf, Toy Story 3, and dinner at a nice local Italian restaurant.

I know there's not much of it left, but Happy Father's Day to all of you!

I just finished my trip report on our southern road trip this past spring. And FreezinRafiki is there to sit back and make wisecracks at our expense, just like he does here. agreed...I just think we should run it the way Uncle Servo did...but any of the 3-4 Dis Dads can declare when the Vote Starts...and when to declare a winner...I could tell US was being other wise detained.

Father's Day...Tiny (DS10) woke-up feeling bad...ended up with a really bad Stomach bug.

DW made me go out with Boy (DS15) for Lunch...so Tiny wouldn't feel guilty.
We went to my favorit Steakhouse over in Kingsport, TN.

Then on the way back I stopped by my Brother's house to give Nephew's B-Day Gift....but bail on party...

Went home to Tiny-sit...so DW could go visit her Dad...who was also feeling bad...

She got home around 6pm...then I finally I got to walk across the field to visit my Dad.

Later... Tiny was really weak and getting very dehydrated...so a visit to the ER for some Fluids and Nausea Meds....at 10pm...left the ER around 1AM and went to Walgreens to fill a prescription...got home and setted in by 230AM.
