Effective June 1, Cinderella's Golden Carrousel is being renamed Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.

Ummm...not sure I understand why...but then I'm not sure I care either. :lmao:

My best guess would be because with the whole new Princess stuff fixing to be splattered all over the new expanded Fantasyland they want to keep just a speck of something for Boy's or a "Boyish" in name only?

I think I'm looking forward to Gaston's Tavern. Antlers...Spitting contest...wrestling...etc. :lmao:

Hmmmmmmm . . . there SHOULD by stuff on a DISDads shared calendar that everyone can see. It works from the link on the Disdads.com page, even if I'm not logged in at all, but the URL is more specific. This this calendar link instead.

Hey! That link works :thumbsup2 Not sure what's up with the calendar view once I'm in my Gmail account. Do I need to add it as another calendar on my account? I did a search for the calendar but did not find it. Although... I did see the other dad's accounts as options to add their calendars.

Emma's Dad,

No pix with Dee. He was there with his son and I did not want to impose. I don't think he even knew I recognized him. I did not exactly scream like a little girl seeing the Jonas Brothers. Besides, I was actually a bigger fan of Ronnie James Dio, RIP.

We did joke about how we kept seeing each other - BUT NOTHING HAPPENED -not that there's anything wrong with that. Seriously, it was more like two NYers saying hello to each other than anything else "Hey, how you doing? Are we following each other?" He was very nice, but obviously there to spend quality time with his son.

:lmao::lmao: "not that there's anything wrong with that"... that's one of my co-worker's favorite saying! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Still cool that he remembered you... considering how many people flow through the place. Good call on the picture taking... I probably would have done the same.

:confused3:confused3 How they changed SOMETHING on the ride. Just doesn't sound right.

The real question is, how many man-hours were spent in the conference room working on this one?

I dunno'...but it must've been "good
stuff":lmao::lmao:

Wonder how many OTHER names we could come up with that would be better than this one?? :cool2:

On another note, we now have a Grand Gathering on our hands. Now my ENTIRE FAMILY is going to WDW in October with us....:woohoo::woohoo:

(As hard as it might be to believe, this is a good thing!:rotfl2:)

I'm still in Kuwait, convoy into Iraq will go sometime Friday!

COOL! You gonna get everyone to do MMNSSHP, too??

You getting some good DISBoard time in while waiting for the ride?? How is the weather over there now?

Looks like I'm going to just miss you. There's over 450 of us, how is it that every time I go people are either there the week before or after us?

Maybe you need to make a December trip... :rolleyes1

Disney is trying to make the whole thing a bit more modern, they split up, she got the castle.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Too funny!

Hope you have an uneventful drive in, that has to rank as one of the crappier Memorial Day weekend road trips ever.

No kidding. What do they do to you if you keep asking "Are we there yet?"

Hey guys,

I've been having some fun reading this Board. My boss is wondering why I keep laughing out loud.
We tend to have that affect on people. Welcome to the Man's Room.

According to the "back story" that the imagineers came up with (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/05/carrousel-name-change-at-walt-disney-world/, the Prince built it so he could practice jousting. I say Disney builds a second carousel right next to the current one, runs it in the opposite direction, and gives the people on the outside rows jousting lances!

Hey Everyone, I thought it would be nice to join a disney fourm but had no idea there was a disney dads one!

Was just in Disney back in January and now are already planning on doing our second disney cruise early next year. Been to disney world now 6 times in my life with 4 of them being in the last 5 years and even got married down in orlando and had our wedding dinner at Ohana's. Looking to become a DVC memeber in the next couple years unless a bunch of people have really good reasons not too.

Other then disney... I am canadian (dont hold that against me) and live in Calgary Alberta. We are the ones in shorts and T-shirts in January down in disney world because that is a nice spring day for us :goodvibes.

Welcome aboard! The only reason I could give you to not buy into DVC is that there would be one less person competing for the room that I want. Seriously though, my family loves our DVC membership.

The real question is, how many man-hours were spent in the conference room working on this one?
It was the same team that sat around and came up with the Pink Elephants scene in Dumbo. And smoke billowed out of the conference room door when they opened it to go on a Funyuns and Doritos run.

I think I'm looking forward to Gaston's Tavern. Antlers...Spitting contest...wrestling...etc. :lmao:
Wouldn't that be rasslin'?

No kidding. What do they do to you if you keep asking "Are we there yet?"
They make you join the Navy. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

You know, I never really thought of that until just now...HOWEVER, this might be just a hair safer than I 95--AND I get to shoot back:lmao::lmao:

Oh yeah, MNSSHP is a "Must do" for the Fed Family.:thumbsup2

I'm getting a little time in...still have my days and nights mixed up, but I'm gettting closer to "normal" now. Luckily I'm staying in the Hilton Kuwait Resort and not in some tent at Ali Al Salem Airfield--which makes life much nicer. Also stay here on the way out and have some good "Decompress" time.

It's averaging 110 during the day.....so I stay inside most of the time:lmao::lmao: Oh, and don't tell me it's a dry heat---so is your oven, try hanging out in that for 18 hours...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

OK. Let's try on more thing here to see if it will let you add the DISDads shared calendar. Try going to Other Calendars, and then "Add by URL". Then use this URL (I embedded the link because the address is long and I didn't want it to get truncated).

See if that does it.

Ah HA! You're the MAN! That worked like a champ. Thanks for the excellent follow-up. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Also... what's great about using that URL is the fact that I can add the calendar to my existing Gmail account, too! I've got little goosebumps now!

Man it's hard to keep up with you guys, get busy for a few days and there's like 20 pages to read. Anyway, starting to plan out our next trip, looks like we might be enjoying thanksgiving dinner @ Disney with a day @ Epcot on Friday (I hope the Xmas stuff will be in full swing by then). The inlaws are coming along (joy) this time, so hopefully DW & I can actually hit the town one night. We were hoping to go down to Key West in August, but with that oil spill business, I'm wondering if that's such a great idea, so we'll probably end up in Orlando again. 5 visits in one year isn't excessive, is it?

Maybe you need to make a December trip... :rolleyes1

I'll be at Kidani, hope I get to ride a zebra!

After thinking about it, I don't really think i'd want any witnesses on the June trip for my attempt at doing the Everest Challenge.

You know, I never really thought of that until just now...HOWEVER, this might be just a hair safer than I 95--AND I get to shoot back:lmao::lmao:

I was at the in-laws in Malta in the middle of the summer about 6 years ago, they were in the middle of a heat wave and it was getting up to about 120 during the day. We were in a cab so I figured I'd roll down the window and cool off, it was like someone holding a hair dryer set on high in front of your face. Not sure what it is exactly but as soon as you get above 105 its a whole different kind of heat.

Always kills me that the majority of the locals think air-conditioning makes you sick.:confused3

That is so very true.

In high school we went on a Choir Tour/Mission Trip to the Indian reservations and other parts of Arizona (to sing and do manual labor) - in May, for a week. It was 120 +/- every day we were there. Miserable.

Another time we went and again, 115 +/-. That time we stopped at Lake Havasu for a day on the way back to CA. The water was so warm it was not even fun to get into.

Several years back in a different role for my company, my territory included the midwest, the central plains, Florida & Arizona (yeah, it was a pretty strangely shaped territory), and I would go to construction sites for inspections and such. The plane would land around 9 or 10 at night and it was still around 110. The construction workers' day would begin at 3 am so it could be done by 10 or 11 am. So I was on the job sites by 5, 6 or 7 am myself to walk the job and go over progress with the superintendent. By the end of the workers' shift the temps were over 100, inching upwards to 110-120. Miserable.

And yeah, it's a dry heat. :confused3 So what, it'll dry out your skin and bake you alive. Yuck. :headache: I remember several drives from Tucson to Phoenix getting sick by dehydration. The moisture was just zapped out of me every time. God bless you Fed for enduring the middle east. Ugh.

Now add 65 pounds of equipment and Armor----which, by the way, does not allow air flow and is the equivalent of wrapping yourself in wool....:scared:

Then an 8 pound rifle (don't think that sounds heavy....strap an 8 pound weight around your neck and walk around all day:lmao:)....

Oh yeah, long thick pants, long sleeve shirt, kevlar helmet, boots...etc. etc...

Thigh holster digging into you all day....

On a plus note, I lose a lot of weight out here:lmao::lmao::lmao:

In all seriousness, it's no big deal---believe it or not, we actually get somewhat used to it.....but we're ready to turn in at night, I'll tell you that much...!!!

On a side not, a Kuwaiti citizen just pulled up in a 300,000 dollar Ferrari....and it's one of three sitting out there....along with a Bentley and two Lamorghinis....

I REALLY wish we could come up with something OTHER than oil....:headache:

hey guys,

i've been having some fun reading this board. My boss is wondering why i keep laughing out loud. Anyway, we are going down to disney in august for 10 days - me, wife, dd8, ds5 - staying at the contemporary.

Last time i was there was in 2000. Wife and i stayed at the wilderness lodge and had a great time. Funny tidbit (to me, at least) was that dee snider from twisted sister was staying there at the same time. My wife had no idea who he was but i thought it was great. She doesn't understand why i keep telling people the highlight of our trip was staying at the same hotel as dee snider.

Disney commando, i was born and raised in nj - lived there until i was 26 - in hasbrouck heights which is near giants stadium. Remember, nj drivers never have to apologize for anything as we are always right. Speeding is always acceptable unless you are at the shore. If someone does not understand what a "jughandle" is, that is their loss.

welcome clearscreen!!!

Why, thank you. This place is a trip (I mean that in a very GOOD way).

Well don't lose too much weight...none of your clothes will fit when you goto the World in Oct.

Seriously...stay safe and keep Hungry Hungry close. I'll be praying for you and your fellow troops safety. :thumbsup2

Maybe we can get Figment to come up with a machine that takes the EGO of Political Figures with names starting with O. and convert it into energy. Would solve the energy crisis globally. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ask me what I really think. :rolleyes1
