Enjoy your time at home and get back safely. Good luck with the WIFECOM information operation.

Well, tomorrow is departure day for our family WDW trip. We're driving for the first time, and my wife's minivan is packed. Cheeseballs will not be making the drive with us.

I also got to watch my wife have LASIK surgery this morning. Have any of you seen "A Clockwork Orange"? The instruments used bear a striking resemblance to one of the scenes in that movie.

I know that I'm on the hook for a TR for this adventure. Y'all are okay with something in the December time frame, right? I am just anxious to find out who can ride which roller coasters as judged by the almighty Disney measuring sticks.

Hey! We're headed down this weekend for our trip. Maybe we'll run into each other. :thumbsup2 Have a great trip!

Oh, and thanks for reminding me to go pick up a bucket of cheeseballs! I almost forgot!

To those heading to WDW enjoy, Cheeseballs or not. We are a non-discriminating group here.... Right Barry..... :lmao:

Fed: Good luck and Godspeed. May you be there and back before anyone knows your gone.

Don, I look forward to enjoying your TR. Reminds me of a Now and Later.... :lmao:

Oh, and for those Hockey fans out there GO HAWKS!!!

According to It's A Disney World After All, there is a rumor that LeCellier might be changing to a Signature Restaurant starting as soon as Sept.

Now if you make a ADR, for say Dec in a couple weeks from now, will they honor it as a TS on the meal plan, if the ADR is in before they anounce it as a Signature, or will they charge the Signature rate of 2 TS.:confused3

So... for my December 27 trip, I need a LaCellier reservation by June 30th, otherwise, it's 2 swipes? I didn't really even want to go there, but now I feel like I have to.

I would totally flip people off with wolverine claws, heck, I'd probably never retract that middle claw. But a CM? I don't know, I have issues with authority, but am usually on my best behavior at WDW.
I like watching good CM's not lose there cool at A**face guests. So I too try to stay on my best behavior. Of course, I'm a goodie-two-shoes all the time, so that's not REALLY saying anything.

If a normal pirating is taking a thread off topic maybe pirating the DIS Dad's thread would be to keep it on topic?

Just a thought..... :confused3

We have a topic?!?!?!

:confused3:confused3
Actually, I need questions about Mac vs. PC answered. That's what I was going to post about.:rolleyes1

Um, In our defense, we'll probably drink the one we're keeping cold, and just have to buy you new ones once you're back.:thumbsup2

You're dead to me.

I am just anxious to find out who can ride which roller coasters as judged by the almighty Disney measuring sticks.
Alright, I'll respond to this, but then you're dead to me again. For our last trip in March, we were measuring my DS3 every week or so leading up to the trip. By our measurements, he was about 40 1/2", depending on shoes. He cleared most of the Disney height sticks by a good 3/4", but some by only 1/4", even in the same shoes. I did notice several of the sticks seemed a bit unlevel. If she's borderline, try standing her farther from where the horizontal stick is attached to the vertical support, it may be just enough lower. Or just feed her more cheeseballs. They stimulate height growth. :lmao:

Oh, and thanks for reminding me to go pick up a bucket of cheeseballs! I almost forgot!

I have both sitting on my desk right now. Ask away.

I have plenty of Cheeseballs for the flight over:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I hope DEA doesn't meet any GSP guys in GA....<<evil grin>>
I'd hate for him not to be able to prove his allegiance by having NO CHEESEBALLS...:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

cant wait for the tr don. i went thru the same thing about 11 years ago. things at wdw were changing, just didnt have the same effect anymore.was getting to expensive to stay at car. beach. it just didnt have the same wow as it did for the last 25 years for some reason. never did put my finger on it. dw talked me into buying into dvc, (not saying thats the answer by no means) and my view of the entire place had changed. i think after riding the rides a million times, dd no longer believe that that was cinderella, it was like, ok, whats next, been there, done this. we started slowing down, enjoying the parks yes but also went hotel hopping, hay, whats over here? and hanging out on all the property. started making diner the first night on our trips to okw things like that. than the parks didnt seem like old hat anymore. i think what happens after a while is the excitement of seeing the mk parades, fireworks for the first few times fades and you dont get the same high. im here to tell you, dont give up on the place! dd will say one day, hay dad, go on the tea cups with me? and go. next trip she will say, hay dad, go on space mtn. with me? and go. hay dad, go on rockin roller coaster with me? dont go!! :lmao: theres not many places were you can go and spend time with dd and it dont matter if you 10 years old or 50. tall or short, male or female.(except the restroom). my dd is going to 18 and a sr in high school. she wants to forgo a grad party and go to wdw with her mom and dad for her grad. present. she gets just excited about going now as she did when she was 5. now, dw and i are starting to plan what we are going to do on our trip as a party of 2 again. its just another step. i hope i hit some of the problem for ya.:thumbsup2

Thanks, Dave. it does help to know that others have been through similar situations. Just to clarify any misunderstandings... I haven't given up on the place. It's more of that feeling like "why did I just spend all that money on THAT trip?" I think it will all start getting clearer when I get the TR going.

Never liked the deploying part of the job. There's always that time just before you leave where the wife gets mad about everything... they seem to do it to make it easier to get you out of the house :confused3 Have fun with the packing and drop us a line when you can! Safe travels!

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2: I am going to HAVE to include that in my TR somewhere!!

so, freezinrafiki quoted something I posted, and i thought his countdown timer was mine. So i thought I only had 19 days to make my ADR plans. But no, i'm still 32 days out, which is time to sit down with the 5 adults that are going, fight over where we're eating, and have 2 folks call to make adr's.

I'm thinking the Aloha show at the poly, the grand gathering safari dinner, and fantasmic dinner show, because I'm too lazy to wait in line with 4 kids, all under 7. sorry, 5 kids under 7. (DD will be 4 months old by then).

mini-freak-out averted.

Apple computers just seem to "work." my PC at home, my pc at work always just... hiccup. I just want to make vacation slide shows that I can put on to a DVD to watch anywhere. If a PC can do that, without driving me crazy, then fine. Otherwise, 13.3 inch Macbook may be a fathers day/birthday present.

Cheeseballs will not be making the drive with us.

blasphemy!!!

:dance3:

Alright - I've been hiding this long enough... I will say once and for all that I DON'T LIKE CHEESEBALLS, or any kind of cracker or pasta that is made with artificial or dehydrated/modified cheese. I love cheese by itself, and on pizza or a burger - even sprinkled in shredded form on my pasta...but not when it is dried out and made into powder to flavor crackers or puffs. So you will never find cheeseballs on our trips either, at least not in large quantities. I don't deprive my kids from those things - if they want to eat them, fine with me...but I don't partake of them.

I've never, Never, NEVER liked Mac-n-Cheese. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay way back when I was in 4th grade, my first "girlfriend" would tell me all about how when we got married she would make me hot dogs and mac-n-cheese for dinner every night... wow, what an "awesome" way to try to catch a man, hah! Such an "enticing" offer, too. She definitely must have heard that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but for me, it just made me want to puke, considering I hated mac-n-cheese. Still do. But that doesn't stop my DW or kids from eating it. And I do actually buy them cheese crackers and the like, in fact I just did yesterday at Costco, a great big box of the fishy kind - I just won't eat them.

So there you go. A card carrying member of the DDC who proudly, albiet a bit late, denounces one of our "most cherished" symbols... oh well, it's still all good. I can still laugh at and enjoy those stories from those who tell about their kids yakking up stuff in the car (hmmm, I wonder, perhaps there's more to it there than just getting a bit car sick....)

You're dead to me.

Alright, I'll respond to this, but then you're dead to me again. For our last trip in March, we were measuring my DS3 every week or so leading up to the trip. They stimulate height growth. :lmao:.

I'm not opposed to cheese balls per se, it's just that I now have a healthy respect for what happens if they come back up after being eaten.

And I appreciate the brief resurrection to get the information about the measuring stick. My DD5 really wants on grown-up roller coasters, and DD3 wants to try the Goofy coaster.

I have both sitting on my desk right now. Ask away.

I'm also happy to weigh in on comparative advantages and disadvantages of various computing platforms. Sometimes I even get paid for doing so.
