I was just looking over plans for our October trip, and it looks like I miscounted our Dining Plan credits (forgot that we're no longer on the Dining Plan when we move to the Swan for our last night). So I'm trying to decide between the following:

1. Cancel Teppen Edo ADR and eat dinner at Food & Wine booths/World Showcase CS on Monday evening.
2. Cancel Whispering Canyon Cafe ADR and eat CS at either DTD or at the Poly on Tuesday evening.
3. Just bite the bullet and pay for either Teppen Edo or Whispering Canyon Cafe out-of-pocket

At the moment, I'm leaning toward canceling Teppen Edo. We were planning on a leisurely "graze-around-the-world" lunch at Food & Wine booths on Thursday afternoon, but there should be plenty of options to try more new things on Thursday anyway. And we have our Akershaus birthday-dinner for the Bug on Thursday night, so we probably don't want to eat too heavy of a lunch anyway.

Any thoughts? Am I giving up an experience that the kids would really enjoy by canceling Teppen Edo?

Here are the ADR's I booked for our September free dining trip. A couple of these are old favorites, but 4 are new places. Any recommendations as to what items I should try off the menu?

Sat., Sept. 18 (arrival): Dinner at Chef Mickey's (for the kids, obviously).
Riiiiiiight:thumbsup2 It's a buffet. Eat everything!
Sun., Sept. 19 (Magic Kingdom): Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.
Mon., Sept. 20 (Animal Kingdom): Dinner at Kona Cafe (date night with DW).
Tues., Sept. 21 (Epcot): Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Wed., Sept. 22 (DHS): Dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe.
Thurs., Sept. 23 (Epcot): Lunch at Le Cellier.
Fri., Sept. 24 (Magic Kingdom): Dinner at Tony's Town Square.

We've never been to Chef Mickey's, Kona Cafe, 50's PT, or TTS before.

Also, any recommendations for CS meals? My kids and I are not generally adventurous eaters. By this, I mean that we normally consider tacos to be an exotic meal. But it's nice to break from the pizza/burger routine after a while.

Thanks guys! popcorn::
It's been too long since I've been to LTT, so I can't help you there.
At WCC, we've had the family-style skillet and really enjoyed it. We've also ordered off menu. I think I had the trout and it was pretty good. Both kids had the mac & cheese. Read my "review" of that here.
50's - We ate here in March. Among the family, we had the fried chicken (mmmmm...), the meat loaf (mmmmm...) and the pot roast (mmmm...). I don't think you can go wrong with any of it.
Le Cellier - Cheese soup. Get it. Don't question me. Just get it. Save your breadsticks to dip in the cheese soup. Just do it. Do it. The mushroom fillet is very tasty, but the lunch portion is pretty small (5 oz, I think) If you're hungry, go for the New York Strip. I think the lunch portion is 10 oz or so. Very tasty too.
TTS is OK. We've never had a bad meal there, but I also don't recall having a spectacular one either. I recommend splitting a plate of spaghetti and meatballs with your DW. Push the last meatball to her side of the plate with your nose, then slurp the same noddle until you lock lips. Photos are required, video would be better.

Never been to Teppen Edo, so I can't offer an opinion. WCC is a good time, though.
Just be careful if you make a "meal" out of the food and wine fest. Each item is only $3-$5, but they are pretty small. It takes quite a bit of samples to make a meal, so it can easily run you $30 per adult. And if Austria has their mushroom soup again this year - get it. :thumbsup2

Never been to Teppen Edo, so I don't know what you'd be missing. We love the shenanigans at WCC. Which meal appeals to your tastes more?

LTT is kind of a buffet (family-style), too. But the food was really good last time we went.
Let's see...no mac and cheese at WCC. Got it. Cheddar cheese soup at Le Cellier...DROOL. We don't get appetizers on the DDP anymore, and we're still gonna order that. It's worth the out-of-pocket expense.
I reserved TTS in the hopes of trying to get a table out on the porch while Spectromagic goes by. Our reservation is at 7:05 and the parade is at 8:00. We'll see if it works out.

I recommend splitting a plate of spaghetti and meatballs with your DW. Push the last meatball to her side of the plate with your nose, then slurp the same noddle until you lock lips. Photos are required, video would be better.

I was going to push my salad towards her instead, since I wouldn't want to eat the rabbit food anyway. :thumbsup2

I've heard some stories. Part of me wants to disobey on purpose.

I'd try to get there a bit early and request a table out there when you check in. Good luck!

Good thinking. Push a salad towards your wife. And as long as you're at it, tell her that yes, those jeans do make your @$$ look fat. Let me know how that goes for you. :rotfl2:

Hi, My name is Brian. I am addicted to WDW.

Lets face it, once I get on that plane headed to WDW, the rest of the world does not exist till I return..

Welcome Brian, glad you found us!:thumbsup2

You'll definitely find something for everyone in the food court in The Land at Epcot also the fish and chips in England are pretty decent. At AK we like Yak and Yeti and Flametree BBQ, At HS we always seem to end up in the ABC Commisary, they have some different items (fish and chips, curry and rice) but it isn't anything spectacular.

Are you doing Crystal Palace or Tusker House for breakfast at all? If so you would be better off paying out of pocket for those and keep the others on the DP.

Not sure if they do it at lunch but for dinner there is a fixed price menu where you get an app, entree, and desert and it works with the dining plan. The fillet isn't a choice for the entree but the prime rib and the coffee rubbed sirloin are. Between the cheese soup, pretzel bread sticks 16oz steak it was pretty rough trying to finish the dessert.

No Crystal Palace or Tusker House for this trip. Given Squeaker's aversion to head characters right now (he cowers from them), we're only doing character meals that focus on face characters (the princesses).

We're off bright and early tomorrow for the Department of Defense Day air show at Andrews AFB. Our son was able to get us VIP Passes, courtesy of the Blue Angels! It doesn't appear that he will know this weekend if he has been accepted as a new Crew Chief as the interviewing process is a few weeks behind. However, he has been able to work with them again since they arrived early today.

Post some pictures and good luck to your son!

Hi Brian!
Heck, for most of us, the rest of the world doesn't even exist when we're not at WDW!

What are you guys referring to? :confused3 Downtown Disney? Blizzard Beach? Typhoon Lagoon? :confused3:confused3:confused3
