Boy...it's awfully quite in here today...everyone must be out sick...or in the hospital...or worse.

BTW...Sadie is home and feeling much better. Her parents are very blessed that she pulled thru. Ruptured appendix...could have been very bad. Thank you for all the prayers.

Yeah, the surgeries are a bummer and definitely something that can't be planned. For the financial mess, it's not that unexpected things came up, but just that the person having the surgeries wouldn't be able to go so that ruled out the free / assisted ride for the others. Not to mention that these are the same people who eat out almost every meal 7 days a week and who picked up one (maybe two) laptops, two cell phones, two high-end digital cameras, two Kindle's, one Nook, an i-Touch... all purchased in about a one year time span.

I guess as both a DVC and DisDad member I can't understand how you can begin talking about and planning a trip a year out and then be 45 days from leaving and still not have any idea what park you'll be visiting or have any ADRs for your stay. I guess we're a different breed of DIS'er? :confused3

Sorry for the rant. Back to your normally scheduled program.

Biting tongue...trying not to join in rant...

Sorry you lost some folks, but I hope it'll still be a fun trip!

Hurdle #1 cleared...DW has Broken. :thumbsup2

Now Hurdle #2 breaking the Bro. He older than me and not a Disney Person...not to mention has was unemployed for about 2 years...but became employeed at the begining of this year...good news here though...his DW really wants to go back as my Niece is the perfect age for all that Princess cr...umm...stuff. Good new here is he's intrigued...probably because he knows DW want to go back. :cool1:

Bro will need some Financial assistance from...

Hurdle #3...My Dad...aka primary financer. This will all be a matter of presentation. He took us all down in 2006...but we were in an Offsite House...about 1/3 to 1/2 the cost I've calculated for this trip...but IF I can show him how much "Free" Food he will be getting...he just might bight....pun intended. :rolleyes1

:woohoo: You're on a roll! Don't stop now!

Better keep DD2 away from the Disboards. Seems like all sorts of bad things are being passed around here.:sick:

This will be a better week for all of us! :thumbsup2 I hope. :rolleyes1

See? Better new already. Glad to hear it! :thumbsup2

It's been awhile. Maybe a thread or two ago. I have been on but not doing much posting. As a DIS dad I have been busy creating new members. We have a third little man on the way. Come August we will have a forth man in the house. How my wife does it being the only female amazes me.

We are in a transition year again. We have to wait for awhile for the new baby to grow up to come to disney again. We figure 6 months old and he is ready to go. As we speak the price of fuel continues to climb making our RV too expensive to drive. That being said I am wondering if any of you could give me a review of the family suites at all star?

Well put us down for Feb 2011. Update to add my name, it's mark, and look for me to post more often now. Thanks everyone for listening.

Snocrossmechanic. #23

Wow! Yes... a blast from the past no doubt. Congrats on the new arrival! And I still marvel how my mom raised 5 boys to adulthood... and remain sane! Sorry I can't give any info/review for the family suites... haven't had a party that size yet. But I did update the member list and the trip list. Glad you stopped by and said hi! :thumbsup2

Happy Mother’s Day to all out there.

Today is a little weird because this is the first Mother’s Day without DD’s mom who passed away in January. I really don’t know how to handle it. We did got some flowers to remember her. Everyone give your mom and the mothers of your children a giant hug from us.

My reply is a little late... and I can only imagine the mood in your house yesterday... but I certainly hope all turned out well. Hugs to your family! :grouphug:

Yeesh. When it rains, it pours.
I'm three doses into my antibiotic, and Mrs. AJRitz just got back from urgent care with The Bug, whose strep test came back positive.

Who's up next?

Seems like the streak of bad luck is continuing its move. We found out tonight that our trip to WDW this June has gone from 9 people down to 4 due to upcoming surgeries for one person and finance reasons for the rest of those backing out.

:bored:

My wife just got over strep, and I'm taking my DD3 to the doctor tomorrow with a sore throat complaint.

I just hope that we can get everyone healthy in time for the Disney trip. Not much time left.

Prayers are being spoken for all this stuff going on! Sheesh!

Hey fellas. My classes are over, so I get a couple of weeks of rest before we leave out for our trip. :thumbsup2

It loos like I've missed a lot. Especially since I missed the closing of DDC3. :confused3 How did THAT happen so fast?

The kiddos are really beginning to get excited. We're T-minus 11 days 19 hours, 51 minutes, and some odd seconds till we leave!:banana::banana:

I saw your PTR update... excitement is in the air! Glad you get some rest before the trip!

well 81 hrs in the books this week!:sad2:I am starting to pay for my two months off during te winter. These long work weeks are really messing with my Dis time .Have to go back and read what I missed.

Didn't miss much... although I have learned a few tricks on how to cause trouble in meetings :rolleyes1 :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Woohoo! Congrats on the DW win! :cool1: A smooth-talker like yourself should be able to get through the next few hurdles with no problems. GO FREE DINING!! :woohoo:

DW's family flying in from NY this morning and we're off to Orlando at the crack of dawn tomorrow. DD2 sounded a bit sick-ish this morning, hopefully it doesn't develop into anything, we'll have to keep an eye on her. If health allows, we'll be at MK on Wednesday, then Sea World on Friday, with a recovery / hangover day in between.

Sweet! Have fun on your trip! Don't forget your sunglasses :cool2:

Awesome! Thanks for the update on Sadie. I'll pass along the update to my people :)

In other news... my DD has her first piano recital this weekend! I'm such a proud dad! She was the first one to play out of 7 ladies. She was so excited and nervous that she forgot to stop after the 3rd song and let her teacher play along for the duets (3 more songs). :lmao: Her teacher just let her play solo anyway! Haha! DD just great and it was a fun time by all.

It looks like I get to go back to work tomorrow, after a week off with Pneumonia. The meds they give you for this really knock you on your butt:lmao:

Doc wanted to know if I wanted a few more days off, since all the meds will take a couple more days to get out of my system, but I have now run out off sick days till next year and don't really want to take a hit in the wallet, so off to work I go.

Ouch :headache: That completely blows. Do they have their cases listed on a web site you can check for future reference?

Food ?

I haven't had a good roast beef sandwich since the last Roy Rogers in the area moved out a few years back.
Alot of Arby's moved into the area, I never tried them, since I never heard anything good about them.

Sat nite my wife brings me home a roast beef sandwich from Arby's, it was a nice thought but, I have never seen gray roast beef, tried a bite garbage time. Not Roy Rogers thats for sure.

How is Hardies, we don't have them here, but are they closer to what I'm used to at Roy's.

Whenever we pass a Roy Rogers we always stop, got to have one of those RB Sand. I miss so much. I will never eat at a Arby's again:confused3

About 10 years ago my mom got called for jury duty. As a life-longer farmer's wife, she was used to carrying a pocket knife in her purse. With out even thinking about it, she walked into the courthouse, only to have security find it. She didn't have time to go all the way back out to the car to put it away, so she goes outside and tosses it under a bush next to the courthouse door. At the end of the day, she digs around under the bush for a few minute or two, finds the knife and heads home. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We have plenty of Arby's around here. They're certainly not the best food around, but I've never had gray roast beef there. I wonder if you just caught them on a bad night. I've never had Roy Rogers to compare them too, however, so it could be that you are used to a much better type of sandwich. :confused3
From what I recall, Hardee's isn't bad. I haven't had one in quite a while, but DW gets a craving for one every now and then.

:thumbsup2 That's so awesome.

My eldest took piano for a couple of years and then quit, now is learning guitar, but did an awesome job in his recitals those years ago. My middle plays by ear, and my daughter wants to take lessons. Personally I believe learning piano is the best way to learn reading for any other instrument, except guitar - but then perhaps that's because I took lessons for nearly 12 years. Many recitals and competitions in my past. I love to watch the kids in recitals. I'm sure you are proud indeed.

I should not have asked that question.
Apparently, the answer is Squeaker, diagnosed this morning with scarlet fever. :-|

That PTO I've been banking for our October Disney trip is dwindling much faster than planned.

Is Roy Rogers still around? I haven't seen one of them in years.

We always liked Arby's, although I don't usually get the roast beast. Not when they have a tasty chicken, bacon & swiss sandich on the menu.

Hardee's makes decent sandwiches, but you usually need a week's supply of Lipitor to counteract their meals.

Scarlet fever?! This is getting weirder and weirder. I hope everyone recovers soon. And avoids an outbreak of black plague.

Hey been a few days since I posted last but I have been lurking. My bad week last week turned into a bad weekend and is continuing to go down hill. Hopefully everything came to a head today and things can start getting back to normal. Only time will tell.ay gift

Everyone is healty though so that is a good thing.
