I'm finally back! Wow... there were a lot of pages to read through here to get updated. First off... Prayers all around for the dads this week. Lot of physical healing and comfort needed in this group. :grouphug:

Secondly... I learned to drive stick in a dune buggy on the back hills of Ohio. My dad made this thing out of a 73 VW Beetle and oil well casing. Had big ol' Mickey Thompsons in the back and John Deere tractor tires in the front. There were some fun times in that thing! Although my first REAL car that had a stick was a 73 Mustang 4 cylinder.

So our 8 days in WDW have gone by and I have to admit that I have mixed emotions about this trip. It was certainly different than the previous 2 trips we have had with DD around. You may have seen a few posts on FB about the trip. Right now I've got the post-trip blues... which I knew would come around... but this time it's different. There's this strange side of me that almost wishes we hadn't taken the trip  But I'm sure this is just a passing emotion... because it's just not right! :lmao: Although I have been playing around and saying I'm not doing a TR, I plan to do one anyway. There are some lessons learned that I need to pass along. Plus... there were a few really good moments, too.

All right... gotta get caught up at work now. I'll check back in later tonight.

Welcome back Don. Can't wait to read the TR. I'll check back in about June for that one......2011.:lmao:

Man I hope it's not in the water. I don't need any extra stress at work. Hoping you guys all see smoother sailing soon!

Glad to see I'm not alone in this, Dave. I'm sure hoping it passes... maybe I should consider a Dec trip... :rolleyes1

And hats off to you for your profession. That can be some very nasty, hot work at times!

Welcome back Don. I can't wait to read your TR...

But chances are I'll be waiting for a very long time. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I hate to say it but misery does love company. I am glad that there are others having "one of those weeks" besides me. Monday one of my co workers was terminated meaning that we are going to have to pick up extra call and shifts into the fall at least now. uuuuugh! I can't even get my grass mowed let alone post much here. I am having withdraws!!!:confused3

Look out, AJ joined in the school thread:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Possibly...

Yes, well, I didn't really offer an opinion as to the ultimate question.
I simply suggested that one of the considerations raised - that of unexcused absences from school - may not actually be a consideration. If one is making a decision, one should be sure that one's facts are accurate with regard to all of the variables being considered. :littleangel:

Yeah that's true.....and clearly I was lurking...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

And since when have accurate facts and consideration of variables been a major concern with some of those folks??:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Never.
Which is why I love inserting accurate facts, without offering an opinion.

Is it wrong that I find leaving factual ammunition lying around in the midst of an emotional argument entertaining. :rolleyes1

DS is still sick:confused3:confused3

He's getting better, but I'll have him at home (again) tomorrow...

Billy, no you do not do that sort of thing. I was a Striker in College and in the old USISL....that kinda of stuff got you either a) Punched in the face and/or b) sent off with a suspension...plus, it's just not cool:mad:

I'm now on deployment countdown...18 days....:rolleyes1
USISL? i'm assuming one of those s means soccer, and perhaps League?
university of Souther Illinois Soccer League? So long as you love the Beautiful game.:thumbsup2

The "maybe not the greatest" trip happened with my 3rd trip on-property. Something about the August heat, my boys were too small to do much, and we didn't find the wading pool until the 2nd to last night. Hopefully, our december 2010 trip will get me back to my disney love.
Never.

I managed to not miss one day of high school (sick, vacation, or otherwise), so when my parents asked me to take me on vacation 2 days i'd miss my Junior year, I said no. Yes, i'm THAT big a dork. But, as a parent, if my kids are smart enough to miss school, i'll let them. Case by Case basis. And again, how does it affect ME if you take your kids out of school?:confused3

Welcome home DON!!!!! :welcome:

I'm very curious to hear about what happened. I hope it doesn't take me 9-12 months to read about it. :surfweb::goodvibes:rotfl2:

here we go......... thats because the other threads are full of women and women can fight over anything!!!!!!:dance3: (see if we have any infiltration):lmao:

:lmao::thumbsup2

I'm not a man, so I haven't read the thread at all, but I just want to stick my head in here and say that this is the best title for a thread ever! :lmao:

And then right after dvcserfs said that, WE HAVE INFILTRATION! :scared1:

Thanks for the comments disney_mommy!

You certainly CAN be added! Sorry for the delay! You are member #458! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

We're up to 458 now? I am starting to feel my age! :scared:

:welcome:party: to our newest member!

Count me in for "one of those weeks as well", where I just can't seem to keep up with all the stuff that is breaking around our house. Plus I work 3rd shift, and am just finishing a 12 day stretch without a break. I cannot wait to get a good solid 8 hours (or more) of sleep tomorrow night! :cloud9: I'm sure I won't mind too much when the next paycheck has a few extra Disney Dollars on it!

Yeah I am having one of those weeks as well. I am really looking forward to tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow morning on the other hand....:headache:....not so much. I wish it was Sunday.

Ok, this is starting to get spooky. Are the DIS Dads under attack from sinister forces? :darth:

Welcome back Don. I can't wait to read your TR...

But chances are I'll be waiting for a very long time. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Well... it may take a while to start it. Can't fight the bummed feeling... not feeling much like writing a TR.

Ughhh... it sure felt like August heat our last 4 days. Interesting that it happened on your 3rd on-property trip... cause this one was also our 3rd on-property trip. And I certainly hope and pray that your December trip is extra magical :wizard:

Welcome home DON!!!!! :welcome:

Thanks, Tim. I hope it doesn't take that long to write it! You seem to have a good rhythm going on your TR... hope I can come close to it.

Well my Toonesta® caption is just barely beating the YMCA caption by one vote. 7-6

W.T.H. is 'amatter with people...don't they know humor when they see it. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

(OK I was the first to vote for the YMCA guy...but I can't vote for myself and his was the 2nd funniest.)

I could change my vote and make it 7-5...

If by sinister forces you mean idiots that pretend to know more then they actually do...then yes we are under attack! I sometimes spend more time cleaning up the aftermath of the nonsense that comes out of peoples mouths then I do anything else. Common sense and good reasoning are becoming harder and harder to find. Okay I am done back to our regularly scheduled programing.....:cool1::cool1:

Hey, I've been shut out for 3 weeks - not one vote. Hmmm.....
