thanks for all the prayers and support you guys, I just got word that she has finished the test, everything went smoothly and she is eating and playing like any 4 year old would. We should have the results in a couple of hours. It's crunch time.....again, thank you all, the dis never lets you down....

Praying here too! Good to hear the test part is done

Hey dads, this is off topic, and I tried posting earlier but something went wrong with my pc and I don't see the post, forgive me if it shows up twice. Anyway, we need some prayers over here. My wife's niece (4) came home from daycare covered in what looked like bruises, she didn't have an accident or get hurt in anyway. Her mom took her to the ER and found that her platelet count was low. They treated her for something called ITP, but the treatment didn't do anything. Today they are doing a bone marrow test to check for leukemia. The doctors won't commit to saying that this is what they think it is and are simply using the 'let's rule it out' argument. The fact that they are submitting her to such an intrusive, painful and expensive procedure tells me otherwise. The test will be preformed in about an hour, and all prayers and positive vibes will be appreciated, it can't hurt at least. Thank you all in advance...

Prayers going out from my family as well.

Agree here as well. Of course, we don't do the drinking or the gambling, so that takes a lot of the activities off the board! :rotfl2:

We have that in common, we are not against drinking but we just don't do it that often. I probably drink about 15 beers a year which is what one of my co-workers drinks on an average night out. There are casinos here in Detroit and occasionally we go to a party that is be held at one of them. They mostly seem like really sad places where people who are struggling to survive are throwing away their paychecks and social security.

I understand that Vegas has a lot more to offer in the way of entertainment but that seedy side is always there. Although Disney is not perfect it is at least centered on wholesome family fun.

I was going through some boxes of old pictures and came across a handful of them from my first trip to Walt Disney World. It was 1986 and I was a youthful whipper-snapper all of 8 years old. I know it was 1986, because Disney World was celebrating it's 15th birthday.

A lot has changed over the years, including removal of trees in front of Cinderella Castle.

Tomorrowland (Originally identified as EPCOT. Thanks stopher and Captain for the correction!)

I'm digging Mickey's pink shirt and pants with the white blazer. It's soooo Don Johnson!

It looks like Eeyore went out and a few too many drinks, then Tigger jumped him on the way home, pummeled him for a few minutes and took his wallet.

I have no idea who these people are. I wasn't able to find any pictures of me or my brother with characters. I asked my mom about it and she told me the lines were too long, so she took pictures of other people with the characters. Thanks, mom.
Anyway, I'm not sure if this is a picture of Snow White or the awesome mullet next to her.

These were found among 3 different shoe boxes full of pictures. If I come across any more good ones, I'll put them up.

Wow do those pics bring back memories.20,000 leagues-sky ride they were the good old days

Thank god I was a young kid in the 80's.

I would kill myself if I looked liked this. Plus isn't that a girl with a mullet? :confused3

And I miss 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!

Actually that's not Epcot, but the old entrance way into Tomorrowland - the imagineers had some fanciful notion of the future being filled with white columns with mural tiles I guess when they designed TL back in the '60's. Then the young buck whipper snappers of the early 90's decided the future would be filled with bronze, rocks & neon as we find TL today ... whatever

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: Way to go mom!! That's awesome. Sad, but awesome.

Don't feel bad, Mark. I'm employed by a private company and I don't do any work either. :rotfl:

Still my brother from another mother! :thumbsup2

I'm with you. Just to clarify, so I don't come across like a holier-than-thou snob, I'm perfectly cool with my buddies having a beer or throwing $10 down on the roulette wheel or Super Bowl pool. We just chose not to risk the downsides of those activities.

Wow! Talk about a blast from the past. Although I think that's Tomorrowland, not EPCOT. Maybe?

Never underestimate the power of the Dis. Leukemia tests were negative!!!!!!!!!! It is something called ITP, it's rare and from what we know there are diferent levels and different treatments, the first treatment didn't work so they will be trying other ways to treat it. I don't know anything about ITP, but have been assured that it is treatable. Thank you guys for the prayers, it worked!!!!!

Those are some awesome pictures!! I barely remember the 20K league ride... but thought it was the coolest thing. Only got to ride it one time back in '93. This is a cool site to check out for the ride:

Anyone know when the sky ride was taken down??
