I'm prepping for another quick trip for work, so I only have a minute. But I just noticed that we leave for our Disney vacation in 200 days! :goofy::goofy::goofy::goofy::goofy:

I guess it may be about time to start a PTR - I can make ADR's in less than three weeks.

Anyone have any advice on when I should touch base with the Polynesian Itinerary Planning folks?

Hey fellas-

We are finally home! Walked in the door tonight at 9pm. I will be doing a TR but I need a few days to get back in the swing of things. Hope I didn't miss too much here!!!:goodvibes

WOW! What a day, it's great to see so many new Dis Dads (friends) on board, hopefully more Dads will follow.

We work well together as a Team & all you guys are all :thumbsup2 awesome, I can't wait to meet the guys going on the Dec. trip:goodvibes

Hey Kevin, I am actually looking for gas in the shale. There has been a large need in the North East for people with experience. I am very unfamiliar with the area but also excited because it is a new challenge. If you have any suggestions for eateries please let me know. I will be starting off in the North Eastern part of the state.

I do believe if you are staying onsite you have a 10 headway on ADR's 190days. That gives you only 10 days to get ready:scared1::woohoo: If the extra 10 days is still offered might as well take advantage of it to insure the times and places you want to go:cool1:

I don't believe that is how it works.... Just say that September 16th is 180 days and you are staying onsite... you would be able to make ADRs for 9/16 + 10 more days. This will give you an edge with your ADRs for later on in your stay. You can't start your ADRs 190 days out.

More than an Impala that's for sure....:lmao::lmao::lmao: At least tricked out any way..

I've seen the prototypes at FLETC for just about all of them....still gotta' say the Charger is by far the most fun:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My Suburban just won't keep up....the older I get, the more I like my SUV's:thumbsup2

Fed I could not agree more with the Charger. I am a die hard Chevy fan but I gotta tell ya those chargers are something. Our department has switched from the impallas to the chargers. I got the chance to drive one of them...WOW!:thumbsup2

Matt, Depends on which part of the NE PA you are at. There are a few Dads that are in the NE part of the state that could help you out. Dave or Mike???? I went to college at East Stroudsburg but that was a long time ago. I am in the eastern middle part of the state now. The best place to eat here is my wifes cooking :rolleyes1...(Just in case she see this...):lmao:

Welcome to all the new DIS Dads!

Hey Fellas!!
I am taking the plung and quitting my job and taking over my in-laws family restaurant. They have decided to retire and I will be buying the business. I went to night school 5 years ago and completed my Chef Training and have been working at restaurants part time to get my hours in. This has been a passion of mine for years and now its time to jump in with both feet.

Wish me luck guys! :goodvibes The only downfall is the limited time I will have to hang out on the Dis, I guess I will have to move to the night shift with some of the other fellas.
Good Luck with your new venture! I love broasted chicken!

I am a Frozen Food Specialist for a major supermarket, I am in charge of ordering, packing out, maintaining temps, deicing cases, product resets, damages etc. We carry about 1800+ items.

My 2 holding boxes are -30, and a normal case on the floor is -10, Ice cream is at -20.

I do have a tip for the Dads on how to have the coldest beer in town on your next BBQ. I'll post it closer to Father's Day.
Great! Where can I find the frozen Dole bars like they sell in the parks?!

If so, add me to the list. Right now I'm at OKW with my 7YO grandson (by marriage) and we are both having a great time. Oh, and I guess the womenfolk are too. :thumbsup2
Yahoo! Another PopPop!

Hello all. I would like to join the DIS Dad's Club.

I just became a father 2 weeks ago and am loving it so far. We went to WDW several times when I was a kid but i was too young and don't remember much.
Tom
Congratulations, Tom, and Welcome!

I am a senior electrician, and fire alarm tech. for a major medical school, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and about the phone thing!

Well it was 3:30 ish on a bright and sunny Sat. boarding day for the DCL "Magic". I'm sitting by "Signals" the adult pool bar with my family and doing justice to my second (maybe third) "tropical depression" (kind of a long island ice tea on steriods) when the phone I had forgotten to turn off rings. One of my shift engineers tells me that the hospital fire alarm system is locked in alarm and I HAVE TO come in right away, to fix it or they will fire me. I tell him that I can't and he should call the contractor for help. No No he says the big boss said for you to "get here now", I handed the phone to the bar tender and asked him to explain. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: you would think that If I am that important they would give me a raise :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
You did get a raise ~ you got to raise your glass! :lmao:

Carl :ssst: it's Dons B-Day todayparty::bday:
Happy Birthday, Don!

Okay, you twisted my arm, can I join this bunch of sports nuts, car enthusiasts, guys with kids (see note), and otherwise Disney fanatics. I think I qualify.

Notes

1. 69 year old father of 2, grandfather of 5
2. married 45 years to the same princess
3. visit Disney at least twice a year
4. Fort Wilderness Campground is my favorite resort
5. Nacoossee's is my favorite on-property restaurant
And another PopPop joins the fray! Are you also a geocacher?

A friend is starting looking at possibly considering booking her FIRST trip for her and her family to WDW!!! Right now, she's just pricing, playing on the disney website, and reading some of the books. I have given her just as many reasons as I can to go. Shows, food, rides, kids, resorts, anything I can think of. I told her to check out DISBoards, and just lurk for a while. Read what the fans think, read a trip report or 30:surfweb: Long story longer, She's "mostly sure" she's going in about a year.
And if any disdads will be at POR beween Christmas & New Years, I'll be at whatever the pub at POR is called around 11:30 most nights. If anyone's interested in planning grabbing a pint 10 months from now, that's where I'll be:thumbsup2.
That would be the River Roost Lounge and that's where Bob Jackson performs Wednesday through Saturday evenings beginning at 8:30. Plan to see him at least once!

Cheating? Moi? Actually, mine is set for Dec 3, which is the day we should be arriving at my in-laws house in Lakeland. We'll check in to Kidani Village on Sunday the 5th, but vacation actually starts a bit earlier!

I got texted by a Canadian on it once, too:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

That text fell within the paramaters of allowable phone usage.:rotfl2:

*sigh* Anyways, were's the best website (trusted) where I can purchase the perfect family package for disney world. I did the create a package at disney website and it came out to $1600 for famliy of 4, value resort, base MYW tickets for 5 days. BTW it also came with $300 dollar gift card. So I guess its as good as it gets...right?!?!?

I hear a lot of good things about dreams unlimited travel, I have never used them. My wife is a TA here in Canada. They are the same people who brought us these very boards and they also host the podcast. Not sure if any other Dads can chime in here about their service.

A big Welcome to all the new Dad,It seems like just yesterday I was the last on the list and my ticker broke the year mark YEA:banana::banana::banana:

If you go a little west and north, I know a place where there is a ton of oil! Our good friends to the south are more than welcome to it.....at a price of course:rotfl:

Welcome back Tim! Hope it was fun. You didn't really miss anything. Don updated his trip report. :scared1: (are we past the moratorium yet?) He also posted the Eternal Secret to Everlasting Joy and Happiness, but a moderator deleted it. Sorry.

Hey DisneyDaddy-O, after spending the better part of a year drilling in Alaska I think all that frozen oil can stay frozen untill its really needed! Besides the beautiful scenery, I was absolutely miserable in that cold, not to mention the days when it never really got dark.
